I feel the ideal launch scenario would be to do what they did with GTA V and have the Online element drop two weeks later. This would allow all users to experience the single-player campaign (It'll most certainly deserve a focus after all the effort put in, the idea of having them come as a package almost feels like launching a movie with a webisode series component and people only watching the webisode series because the movie can only be seen in theatres) before the Online element comes in. The Online will need more support anyway, as we know what the original Online went through when it first became available, and they deserve to make that process as clean as possible this time. I also think if the Online element resets our progress, then we deserve to start at a level playing field - for those who go through the Single-Player Experience first, by the time they get to the Online, those players who decide to ignore the Single-Player Experience will be leaps and bounds ahead - In the long term this won't matter - but in that short time frame, it certainly makes a difference. It will affect the number of users on the platform. My prediction is forever wavering because I thought the above would be the move for Rockstar, but I'm not in the mind space that they'll launch it all together at once - in a Call Of Duty-esque approach. I feel this doesn't seem as careful as Rockstar usually plays, but they now know that Online is a proven asset and has a fanbase that is as big if not bigger than that Single-Player Experience.
As a VR dev...no way there will be a GTA6VR. GTA always aimed at the max what hardware has to offer. They would need to render it in higher res than what would be acceptable in 2D and that for each eye at min 60fps. Sure, just like LA Noire there could be a lot of optimization but there are limits. From what I've seen, I doubt it will run well on current GPU's
I think people really underestimate how massive GTA5O is and how massive GTA6O will be. GTA 5 sold 200m copies and only made them 2x as much money as GTA5O did. They play their cards right, GTA6O will make them DOUBLE what GTA 6 makes them. GTA5O surely makes just as much money as The Elder Scrolls Online or World of Warcraft. I can see them going the full MMO route and releasing GTA6O on the PC before they release the story mode on PC. BUT, if it's going to be online ready for PC, then it should basically be story mode ready. Also, I'm sure they'd like to double dip and have all the PC players who only wanna play the online have to buy 6 first and then also spend money on the online.

PC Player here, I wouldn't buy early Online version mainly because i never even played GTAV Online. And chances for that nearly zero. And I'll wait for PC release and not buy console as I did since 2002 when I got GTAIII for Chrismas on PC and every other GTA I've only waited for PC. It's fine I'll do the same as I did with GTAV, I look at some clips, look at the world, I don't avoid anything but I dont dig into the story and the world a lot, and after a year or so I'll just get it on PC and get the experience myself, it's the same when you play and when you watch a video on youtube of something playing it anyway. - Also Mount Chiliad mystery is solved fully, not confirmed obviously but the 100% completion and UFO on top is the whole point, the lines represent storymode perfectly, icons are protagonists easily, it has to be thunders, it's all very clear, the problem is that people found the UFO on top within weeks of release of GTAV where they expected this to be a mystery for months or maybe even years, it's because you have to do extremely specific things in order to find the UFO, including 100% completion. There's nothing more to it, it's simple as that, people just want to believe that there's something underneath the mountain and keep saying mystery is not solved, it is solved, it's been solved for a decade.

As a PC player primarily, if they came out and said "You can buy the game right away for full price, but you can only play online for now until single player is ready" I would absolutely still buy it!
Yeah, but I also feel it would kill that special feeling you get loading up for the first time, getting dropped into the opening scene of the game. It seems not likely as well, because there's probably going to be references to characters and events from the single player in the gta online missions. Personally it would kill it for me and then its like the main game is online, when its most definitely not, at least it wasn't. I might play online for fun with friends, but that's absolutely it, I would play single player way more than anything else. - THOUGHTS ON PC FOR LAUNCH I would love for them to truly appreciate the PC players for once and give us the game at launch. Not to mention, they made so many sales off of people getting the game just for the role play communities and mods. GTA V got so much more attention than they usually would because of RP streamers. I get that it takes a lot of time to test the game on a bunch of different hardware configurations, but at this point, they should be able to hire enough staff to work on the PC compatibility stuff only. Then you gotta ask yourself, would Rockstar rather just launch consoles first and save money by not hiring another team for parallel work on the PC compatibility and sell two copies of the game to the person who wants it right away and will buy a console for it? I reckon they will not be doing anything different and its disappointing, especially since the best way to experience a game like this would be on PC.
