listening to this album for the first time is an experience I won't soon forget. not only instrumentally but lyrically as well, it's nearly a masterpiece in my book. I had only heard people talking about the album when it came out and had never listened to the band before so I decided to give it a listen and was actually blown away lol. not to mention I instantly connected with it personally and emotionally. phenomenal album. I'm glad you gave the whole thing a listen because the transitions are so good. great reaction as always!
I had the exact same experience lol, i'd heard a few songs and actually heard the band live back in 2022 (they were with others i was more interested in) but nothing really hit me. Everyone spoke so highly of this album so i checked it out and my god, it's incredible. Might be my current AOTY honestly, only contenders are Reliqa and Caligula's Horse but i think i prefer this one
I'm not normally a fan of bands being heavy for the sake of being heavy, but these guys have been a favourite of mine since their debut. Matt's vocals and lyrics are so open, vulnerable and relatable it really makes the heaviness feel honest and raw rather than phoned in. It also helps that their production sits in a really comfortable place between the noisiness of the late 90s/early 00s sound and the modern cleaner style.
@@dreero_ Indeed I did. You say "I'm not normally a fan of bands being heavy for the sake of being heavy, but..." followed by an explanation of why it is, presumably, acceptable. You clearly indicate Boundaries is heavy purely for the sake of being heavy, yet insist you like the album anyway. Regardless of us sharing a positive opinion of the album, I disagree with that.
@@benjamindibb2538 no I said I don’t like bands being heavy for the sake of being heavy and explain why Boundaries aren’t heavy for the sake of being heavy because it’s raw and vulnerable which is the entire point of heavy music is to be raw and vulnerable. I think Boundaries are one of the few bands in the genre right now that truly match the energy of classic bands like Converge, Poison The Well and 7 Angels 7 Plaguee.
@@dreero_ ok I understand at this point im just getting hung up on semantics and I get what you mean. However, taking your initial comment at face value within standard grammatical conventions, you say Boundaries is heavy for the sake of being heavy. so like atp im being pedantic, but tbf you do say that in the comment. It's just a matter of how you phrased it.
AOTY for me and it's not even in question. (Edit: having watched all the way through now.... Lochie Keogh is the vocalist from Alpha Wolf and Matt Honeycutt is from Kubai Klan TX)
It's my favorite album right now but we've gotten so many good albums this year. Depending on the day for me it might be boundaries, KL, Imminence, 156/silence, SYSC. This has just been a great year for heavy music.
Boundaries shocked me. I hadn’t heard of them until a bunch of my fav reactors jumped on this. They’re really raw and touch on a lot of feelings in a way that’s not cryptic or metaphorical, it’s just angry. It’s sad. It’s misfortunate. Matt isn’t afraid to wear on his sleeve all of the feelings that I know a lot of us feel ashamed to feel.
For those of you just joining the Boundaries family. Welcome! I'd implore you to all listen to every album. They have not made one bad song on a single album. Each one is a masterpiece. Especially Your Receding Warmth. Btw their drummer also does their cleans.
Easily album of the year!!! Features were perfect. Breakdowns are crunchy and destructive as hell. Matt’s vocals along with the lyrics just ties this whole thing together. Masterpiece.
This album is genuinely a masterpiece i dont see how its slept on so much. The lyrics are super relatable and just as heavy as the music. Every song is different yet still doesnt compromise the identity of the album. I love that it has like this 2000-2010s metalcore sound but modernized, especially in the first song. 100000/10 album
this was the first album i listened to by them, i now have listened to every album of theirs once a day (mildly obsessive yes) but i can connect with their lyrics like no other band, and its just blatantly heavy which i adore. my AOTY
I remember the first time listening to this album i was immediately in love, but man by the end of the album i was exhausted 😂 now i listen to it on repeat over and over
This album is a masterpiece. Boundaries has been my favorite since their debut as a local band in my home scene, and I’ve seen them 8 times live, 3 being after this album came out. They’re the best live band I’ve ever fucking seen and I’ve never moshed harder than to the breakdown of Cursed To Remember. These guys are so slept on it’s criminal
Your ad libs at 8:21 took me out dude 😂 loved the reaction and this album is right on the heels of Knocked Loose for AOTY for me. So many great grooves and cutting lyrics in this one
dude that reviews a whole album, not just one song. so awesome. glad you enjoyed the album, its one of my favorites all time at this point. Their previous album was also brutal
Your reaction at the end of it is mine every damn time. Goosebumps, and then I say “Well, fucking hell. That man’s feeling a lot of pain” 😂😂 I laugh, but it seriously makes me feel things in ways no other band does. It’s incredible
I found this album through your reaction to "Blame's Burden", and it's taken up the space as my "I am severely annoyed at everything for no good reason whatsoever and I have chores to do" album. (With "Blame's Burden" being the outlier that I listen to on repeat on its own just because it's so beautiful.) Loved seeing you reacting to the entire album! It's short, but *so intense* 😰
Boundaries have the best drummer in the scene, absolutely insane the amount of intricate grooves and transitions he is able to weave into every single track. Bro can turn a single riff into seven different experiences in 30 seconds
Funny that i have a same feeling with Boundaries as Steve have with Imminence. I try to connect and listen the all album, because a lot of people is saying how great it is, but it really doesn't much for me because i can't feel that connection.
Fantastic album. Aoty running for sure. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE check out No Eye Has Seen - Caverns EP, especially if you liked Invent Animates - Heavener. Thabk me later.

Heheh! Glad you enjoyed it. You heard the new thrown album? I really dug that too.
Both of them are so incredible but I think as a whole this album just edges it. Amazing year for music
Unmatched intensity. Definitely one of the heaviest albums I’ve ever heard

Despite everything that’s came out so far this year. This is still my AOTY

You would be very into misery signals, I think. Their drumwork is top tier
Elements of this take me back to old-school Alexisonfire!
wow i really cannot get over the guitar solo on death is little more i replayed that section like 10 times XD
So much good metal this year, we've all been spoiled
It's a fight between this or Darko US new album for AOTY for me so far.
💯
Lochie is the Alpha Wolf vocalist
This album has no chill, and I love it. Knocked Loose still has my AOTY, but this is right on their heels
i was disappointed with knocked loose's album compared to their fabric of life ep tbh. boundaries made up for that to me

Interesting perspective! I love that we’re flipped on that. Music is beautifully subjective at times 💙
The clean vocals are done by the drummer. Just to blow your mind on him a bit more 🤘🏻
I love Boundries
as you should
AOTY without a doubt. Absolutely incredible
"K tempo change" is the alternate name of this album lmao.

I listen to this album once per day - at least
Matt is in a band called Kublai Khan TX and the SLAP. Epitome of simple is better
Still Metalcore AOTY for me
