Went out there this past summer with a colleague. Caught some big ones plus a kingfish and a mahi. Took a motion pill the night before and in the morning. Worked like a charm! Tight lines bro!
Back in 70s I went bar hopping to 3 AM went ate an omelet and went and caught a party boat on the Atlantic. I got so sick and never fished. I stayed sick for a week.
I left the link for the guide service in the description.. Every single one of these big snappers pulled hard. I had a blast, and the food was delicious!!
Nice weather. When was this? I take my boat out to the oil platforms and further and had great luck with different snapper, grouper, cobia, dorado, triple tail etc But those trips out past South Padre Isle are great. Took my dad out on one when we first moved to Houston. And even better they all taste great eh! Happy New Year guys. More tight lines for y'all!
@@southtexasfishingfam3436 back in the 70s we'd go out on Capt.Elliot's boat out of Freeport. about 50 miles out. the old limits (what limits?) fishing in 80'~100'. typical to take home 20~30 fish. trip was $100 back then.. the guys who worked at Dow Chem. and went out on a regular basis had battery powered electric reels- 2# weights and triple hooks with fresh squid. they'd hit their free spool button- drop to the bottom- yank about 3 times and hit the switch. 3 snapper, all in about a minute. the last time we went out we saw two guys take home about 60 fish each. biggest snapper that day was 23#
So which seasoning could you taste? The slap ya mama had all the stuff yoy added in the correct portions. You don't know what you tasted seasoning-wise.
To be honest you are right! I have never tried slap ya mama solo and recently just read recipes on how to make your own similar seasoning..and it was basically the stuff I added 😂. I personally like the onion and garlic and smoky taste
I put the fishing guide information, or link to the website in the description. Feel free to contact them .. I used the real and rod they had.. they had baitcasters.. but I wanted to hear the drag scream ❤️
@@southtexasfishingfam3436 yes I know that. I’m going with him Tuesday. I was just wondering what time of year this was? I saw him out fishing last Saturday when I was on a party boat 🤣. Nice video

How much does a trip like that cost? You need a bait caster.

@@southtexasfishingfam3436 if you had hooked something big you wouldn't had stood a chance.
@@southtexasfishingfam3436 I'd love to have some of those snappers. I haven't had fresh snapper since the 70s.
@@anthonyfoutch3152 galveston there is a boat with a commercial permit they let you catch the fish for their quota, then give you 25lb bag of filets
@@anthonyfoutch3152 youd be suprised how stout the spinning gear is now. that reel could hang with a penn 113H all day. Braided line.
