एक वक्त था जब वो देश भर के खूंखार मुजरिमों की आंखों की किरकिरी बना हुआ था. बड़े-बड़े मुजरिमों को पकड़वा कर वो बेहद कम वक्त में स्टार बन गया, लेकिन वक्त बदला और वह हवालात में पहुंच गया. ये कहानी है क्राइम शो इंडियाज मोस्ट वॉन्टेड के होस्ट सुहैब इलियासी की. जिन्हें हाई कोर्ट ने शुक्रवार को बड़ी राहत देते हुए बरी कर दिया.
18 साल पहले सुहैब इलियासी की पत्नी अंजू इलियासी की रहस्यमयी हालत में मौत हो गई थी. 17 साल बाद यानी 20 दिसंबर 2017 को दिल्ली की निचली अदालत ने अंजू की मौत के लिए सुहैब इलियासी को दोषी करार दे देते हुए उम्रकैद की सजा सुनाई थी. साथ ही उन पर दस लाख रुपये का जुर्माना भी किया था. लेकिन सुहैब उस फैसले के खिलाफ हाई कोर्ट चले गए थे. जिसमें सुनवाई के बाद उन्हें पत्नी की हत्या के आरोप से मुक्त कर दिया गया.
जैसे सुहैब इंडिया के मोस्ट वॉन्टेड अपराधियों की पहचान बताते थे, वैसी ही पहचान खुद उनकी बन गई थी. किसने सोचा होगा कि जो शख्स एक जमाने में लोगों को अपने टीवी शो के जरिए मोस्ट वॉन्टेड अपराधियों से रूबरू करवाता था. 90 के दशक में जिस आवाज़ को सुनते ही अपराधियों के हाथ-पैर कांपने लगते थे. जिसने अपराधियों की नींद उड़ा रखी थी. खुद उसका नाम एक दिन उन्हीं अपराधियों की फेहरिस्त में जुड़ जाएगा.
जो 21वीं सदी में पैदा हुए वो भले इस शख्स को अच्छे से न जानते हों मगर उससे पहले पैदा हुए लोगों के लिए ये शख्स किसी पहचान का मोहताज नहीं. रात में टीवी पर जैसे ही उसके क्राइम शो की धुन बजती थी, लोग समझ जाते थे कि आज फिर किसी गैंगस्टर की शामत आने वाली है. मगर वक़्त का पहिया ऐसा घूमा कि जो शख्स अपराधियों को उनके असल ठिकान तक पहुंचाता था, वो खुद सलाखों के पीछे पहुंच गया. वो भी अपनी ही बीवी अंजू इलियासी के कत्ल के इल्ज़ाम में.
मगर 17 साल बाद दिल्ली की कड़कड़डूमा कोर्ट ने क्राइम शो इंडियाज़ मोस्ट वॉन्टेड के एंकर सुहैब इलियासी को अपनी ही बीवी की मौत का दोषी करार दे दिया था. अंजू इलियासी की हत्या के इस केस में आए ट्विस्ट्स, किसी फिल्मी कहानी से कम नहीं.
ये था पूरा मामला
ये कहानी शुरू हुई साल 2000 में. तारीख थी 10 जनवरी. सुहैब की पत्नी अंजू इलयासी को पूर्वी दिल्ली के मयूर विहार इलाके के घर से ज़ख्मी हालत में अस्पताल ले जाया गया था. पुलिस को दिए बयान में सुहैब ने बताया कि दोनों के बीच हुई कहासुनी के बाद अंजू ने खुदकुशी करने के इरादे से खुद को चाकू मार लिया.
वारदात के वक़्त घर में अंजू इलियासी के अलावा उसकी ढाई साल की बेटी आलिया और खुद सुहैब इलियासी मौजूद था. सुहैब के मुताबिक जब वो घर पहुंचा तब अंजू से उसकी कुछ कहासुनी हुई. जिसके बाद अंजू दूसरे कमरे में चली गई और फिर उसने गुस्से मे खुद को चाकू मार लिया. अंजू के पेट पर चाकू के दो निशान थे. बाद में अस्पताल में इलाज के दौरान अंजू इलियासी की मौत हो गई.
अब सारा मामाल इस बात पर आकर ठहर गया था कि क्या सचमुच अंजू ने खुदकुशी की या फिर उसका कत्ल किया गया? ये सवाल इसलिए उठ रहा था कि एक्सपर्ट इस बात को मानने को तैयार ही नहीं थे कि खुदकुशी करने वाला कोई इंसान खुद पर चाकू से एक से ज़्यादा बार वार कर सकता है.
बाद में पोस्टमार्टम रिपोर्ट भी इस सवाल का जवाब देने में नाकाम रही. तीन डॉक्टरों के पैनल ने अंजू इलियासी की लाश का पोस्टमार्टम किया. दो-दो अटॉप्सी रिपोर्ट्स तैयार हुई. फरेंसिक जांच के नतीजे आए. अंजू के मां-बाप के बयान दर्ज हुए. तब सब यही इशारा कर रहे थे कि अंजू ने खुदकुशी की ही है. पुलिस भी अब इसी थ्योरी पर जांच मुकम्मल करने जा रही थी.
10 जनवरी 2000 की उस रात अंजू ने सुहैब इलियासी के साथ झगड़े के बाद खुद को चाकू मारा या उसे किसी और ने चाकू मरा? पोस्टमार्टम रिपोर्ट केस पर कोई खास रोशनी नहीं डाल पा रही थी और चाकू पर न अंजू की उंगलियों के निशान मिल रहे थे, न ही सुहैब इलियासी के. इसके अलावा घर में कोई चश्मदीद भी नहीं था. लिहाज़ा शुरू में वही कहानी सब मान रहे थे, जो सुहैब सुना रहा था.
मगर तभी मामले में ट्विस्ट तब आया जब अंजू के कत्ल के एक महीने बाद फरवरी में अंजू की बड़ी बहन रश्मि कनाडा से भारत आईं. रश्मि ने पहली बार ये खुलासा कर सभी को चौंका दिया कि अंजू ने खुदकुशी नहीं की है बल्कि उसका कत्ल हुआ है. उसके बाद समय का पहिया घूमा और शक की सुई सुहैब पर जाकर टिक गई.
बस वहीं से सुहैब की परेशानी की सफर शुरु हो चुका था. मामला पुलिस से होते हुए अदालत तक जा पहुंचा. 17 साल बाद 20 दिसंबर 2017 को दिल्ली की कड़कड़डूमा कोर्ट ने सुहैब को दोषी मानते हुए उम्रकैद की सजा सुनाई थी. लेकिन अब दिल्ली हाई कोर्ट ने बड़ा फैसला देते हुए सुहैब को पत्नी के कत्ल के इल्जाम से बरी कर दिया. हाई कोर्ट ने कहा कि इस मामले में सुहैब के खिलाफ कोई सबूत नहीं है.

Love is blind and lover are totally blind, without thinking, only on mere infatuation the lovers are getting married.Both belong to different community, mind set different, coming from same profession, Its sad about anju.
Sir, circumstantial evidence is a very big factor in such cases.
1. The persons who were present in the house during her death were the sole witnesses and culprits (if investigated properly).
2. No fingerprints on the knife means evidence was deliberately destroyed by the people present in the house.
3. The police bodyguards posted at Ilyasi's house were his bodyguards, on friendly terms with HIM. They would obviously not give the correct account of what happened. They can't be trusted to be truthful.
4. Anju was shunted from one clinic to another, so that she couldn't give a recorded statement anywhere and died in the process of bleeding and being moved.
5. Police and investigative agencies cannot shirk off the blood found in the other rooms if the house. They have to account for it through the people present in the house.
6. The fact that no one can stab themselves so deeply and fatally twice over. The police have to strongly interrogate the people present in the house.
7. Anju's diary and her records of a very bad marriage for 7 years, and the presence of a third person, a stranger, so late at night in her house.
8. Why wasn't Shoaib Ilyasi's and Narendra's call records checked, their conversation could have provided valuable clues. Similarly, Anju's call records should have been checked.
ALL THIS AMOUNTS TO CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE.

The logic you gave that if one is harming himself/herself then knife cut will give a certain pattern of cut but what if the murderer attempt to kill from behind? In that case, it will give the same cut impressions!

My simple question is that why there is no fingerprint on knife??? If the woman killed herself then fingerprint should be there. No fingerprint that means the husband is the killer because after killing he cleaned the knife. Hence proved the husband is the killer.

The reason for no finger prints were found was because the killer was wearing gloves (medical gloves) which can be disposed very easily and as Sham's Sir said blood were found in/near the bathroom that means gloves were disposed and flushed down the toilet... that's why no finger prints were found.

Can you see the similarity of this case with Sushant + Rhea + Sandeep Singh? The only difference here that instead of Rhea its Sushant who died. Also, there could be possibilities that while an argument or fight, Anju picked the knife to kill Suhaib and suhaib tried to save himself and while in this tug-of-war Anju got stabbed herself only. We have seen such things in many Bollywood movie... This could be a possibility.. otherwise, why would he killed on that day when they had an argument and he knew it that he will be caught doing this as the 2 policemen were right down his building. Hmmm

SIR, SUICIDE IS NOT A PUNISHABLE CRIME ANYMORE, I think since 2016, from just after Irom Sharmila was released from jail. It is recognized as a mental health problem now after recommendations from UNICEF.
Depression and bipolar might lead to this situation. But I having such law can reduce the cases..nkt so sure though

If police gives 3rd degree treatment on sohib , he would tell the truth of how angrily he held her neck from back and stabbed with knife two times till she faints down.
He immediately goes to bathroom to clean his hands after removing the fingerprints on the knife with anju's cloth.
