I wrote a comment...i will be there for my second time on the 24 of may for ten days..we rented a airbnb in Oranjestad(Tanki Leendert)..for this trip also..i love Oranjestad its central for everything and everything seems close..also many places to go eat.. shop..thank you for the info..and your uploads..will be binge watching for a few days 🤣
If i see you pass by.. i will shake your hand for sure..because during lockdown..i couldn't wait to see a another walking videos to breathe..

Wonderful as always. Like so many, I was shocked just how hard hit the downtown area was due to Covid, however when you think about it this pandemic caused the closure of many businesses that were not sustainable to begin with and likely would have gone under anyway. At any rate, those closed spaces now represent opportunities for business owners to open up something else that is sustainable. Consider it an economic reset. Aruba will bounce back. It'll just take some time and patience and better business plans/smarts. Love as always from Canada.

Thanks for another entertaining vlog sir! I think the beer you mean that is like Amstel Bright and Corona is Sol, possibly? There’s also Desperados which is a bit like it but no selfrespecting beer drinker would order that ever, IMO

Another good vlog, I really can't wait to visit Aruba in September. We are travelling from England and I was wondering which best to bring Aruban Florins or US dollars?
Hello Symon, thank you glad you liked it. Bring US Dollars but avoid large bills like $100 or $50, they are not accepted everywhere due to not enough change a/o counterfeit. But in general, US$ is accepted everywhere.
It's nice to see what is available around Main street but hard to draw busy crowds . The majority of the tourists stay close to "home", and home is the hotel/resort area around Palm Beach. Everything is in walking distance and it's active both day and evening. The " Low Rise " area is more spread out and the town center area really only gets the day trip cruise people. At one time the casino at the Renaissance and the mall were a big draw, but now every resort has it's own casino and the biggest draw is proximity to the beaches . What attraction can be developed there that isn't found closer to the hotels ?
Hello Paul, you summed it up very very well! Most visitors "stay close" to where they are staying, especially those without their own car (rental). I think if we start with more choices of food and better prices would be a good start already. Combine that with some music and small museum, maybe art galleries just to name a few. Everyone knew that when the development of the Palm Beach area began about 15 years ago or so that this would affect the city center and it's businesses. Today we can see that more than ever. Can it be saved? I don't know, but it sure still has that potential because it can still attract both tourists and locals if done in a smart way. Maybe night events, cultural shows, cozy bars etc.

I think Louis Vuitton made that coconut ice cream bar you got $$$ 😂. I would definitely check out that Coffee Break spot, looks like a good alternative location whenever the Dutch Pancake House or Cafe the Plaza are packed. Just an FYI, there’s a new Cheese Shop in the Eagle Beach area called Keshi Di Hulanda (Cheese of Holland) situated on the side street between the Amsterdam Manor and La Cabana. The owner Niels Wallen relocated to that spot, he was currently within the Plaza Bookshop. They have a variety of Cheeses, a selection of wines, nuts and dried fruits along with bread and coffee. The grand opening was on a few days ago on April 1st. For those staying that particular area it can serve as an option to grab maybe some wine or snacks instead of crossing over the street to Super foods. Enjoying the recent content showcasing the not so known eateries and accommodations 👍🏻

Hola Julio, gracias por tu mensaje. El supermercado mas economico es el "Save a lot" situado en Noord/Bubali. Encuanto alquiler de autos recomiendo cualquiera de las companias reconocidas como Hertz, Avis, Budget etc. No significa que las otras sean malas pero esos tienen oficina en el aeropuerto locual las hace mas practico tambien.

Should have come and say hi haha. I was looking to ride it for this vlog but it wasn't running despite the cruise ships in port. I get the feeling they only run during the weekdays, but either way I have seen them around again, just not on this day.

I haven't been to Oranjestad on my last few trips due to walking issues, problems with my HIP. However, I would love to go on a day that tram is running and maybe go to Pastechi house.
