My wife, Lucia, had an exceptional talent to find good music on TH-cam. I do not know how she did this, but everything she listened to was from exceptionally good to fantastic.
Some time ago, just before she passed away, she started speaking about a singer with an incredible voice and extraordinary music. And not only the voice and the music but the lyrics are lovely, coming from and going right to your soul.
The singer was Asaf Avidan.
I keep listening and I feel she is also listening.

Yeah, he is so underrated unfortunately. I would love to listen to a radio that would play artists like him.
It's incredible how much he put himself in his music. Such an expression, how much of pain is in it, and how unusual it is created. I needed time to dive in Asaf' music, but when I did - I dove like in a deepest vast dark ocean. Katharsis.
I can't get over how incredibly talented this modern-day Mozart is. In al aspects of his craft, he absolutely kills it: vocals - prodigious; lyrics and phrasing - prodigious; soul - visceral; instrumentalism - diverse and top notch; technical prowess (pedals and all things midi) - polished; song writing - superb. He must, to my mind, be one of the best musicians out there currently.

Yeah, after listening to the labyrinth song, I started to look for his other songs. He is indeed an outstanding artist who is not discovered by the world the way he deserves.
Absolutely crazy how he can make his guitar sound like it's screaming near the end.

Just sitting here, having the tearing urge to write poetry, the way Asaf is drawing poetry with his voice. Always when I need an anchor in our crazy days, I come to his music. I hope I can make it to his Istanbul concert.
I got into Asaf ten years ago through the film the Crash Real. I get hooked then move on to so many things in my life. Asaf is probably one of only 5 things I'm still into 10 years later.
All I can say is WOW and THANK YOU for putting this out there. You have a phenomenal voice, soul and sound.
He tells stories in his unique and wonderful way. The man sublimates at a high level. That is music. That's great. This brings many visitors from.

Asaf, your music is very special. This one is my fave. The percussion pulls my feet into the earth, holding me firmly in place as the softness of the guitar strings it's way into my shoulders and down my spine until I'm no longer free. Then your verse coaxes me into a warm, delightful cocoon of multiplicity. As if newly awakened and rushing forward, comes that shreik of emotion that bellows into my heart and tears at my veins. Never have I ever felt a song with every sense of my being, forcing my tense body to absorb every note with precision until I too cried into the ether, demanding the silence to wither and unbind me from it's deceitful mask.
A man alone could not accomplish such a feat without your passionate prose and the magick of your fingers caressing your obeying ensemble.
