@18:20 - "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade" - using harmonics beyond the range of the signal generator.

Personally I'd love to see a signal generator used in a project. My level of knowledge is that they make pretty patterns on an oscilloscope.

No problem, plenty of signal generator use with projects here, have a look at.....

Please do a frequency test on the 'scope using the square wave setting as you did with the sine wave.

Glad I found your channel very nice videos and very informative, looking for a nice generator for radio work. Not yet sure which one to buy. I fear some stuff is cheap junk

Get a proper low phase noise RF Signal generator and one with PLL. These DDS and VCO controlled function generators are not designed for radio alignments. It the wrong application for it. Even my higher end HP, or Rigol function generator won’t use for that. The Rigol DG4102 I have is worst then the Chinese function generator as doesn’t do modulation correctly as in AM modulation carrier which increases if you reduced modulation.
I have one of the Koolerton Arbitrary waveform generator and good for head alignments and other work like testing boards missing clock signals and etc but won’t use it for RF work.

@@jim9930 Thanks for the reply. There’s so much I have to learn. I could easily be scammed with some of these cheap chineseum equipment. I’ve often thought of buying older units from renowned brands. But they seem to be only in the 2 to 3 MHz range. There’s currently one for sale near me, it’s an IEC F34 3 MHz signal generator with sweep. Made early 70’s, it’s cheap enough I’m just scared to pull the trigger and buy it as now retired I’m on a low budget. The FY6800 I heard has a grounding issue on the bnc connectors that could damage other equipment and even possibly give a person a shock.

... how does it FARE against YOUR function generator? Is English not your first language?

Is Sunday the new video day? I'm really impressed with it. Please do use the signal generator more. I bought a 15mhz one and haven't got a ton of use out of it. So if you can show some extra uses I would be very happy. It did help me generate a missing clock signal to do some testing on a board.

I'm a beginer but know often you have a analog and digital ground on PCB's and audio OP AMPS also so it's a feature to select a diffrent ground as reference point. I'm right or totaly wrong ?

Too basic for the experienced, yet not enough for the beginner. I wish this video was more helpful.
