Not sure I understand your comment Dima. Lviv WAS a polish city since 1250 - until WW2. You've seen almost 800+ years of polish tradition,. WTF with "ethnic" groups?
No one is suggesting the borders should be changed back but Lwow was a core part of Poland for 600 years which is why it looks like Warsaw, Poznan, Lublin etc... (Ukrainian speaking prewar population of Lwow was only 6%)
DiscoverWithDima 86% of the city's population used the Polish and it was part of Poland for 800 years, it is unfair to just ignore Lvivs polish history. The only reason Lviv became Ukrainan was because the Soviet Union wanted more land from Poland, so we got pushed to the west and Lviv was unfortunately no longer polish, and will never be due to the deportation of all the polish residents which was 86% of the city. It is now Ukraine and I am not bitter but it’s unfair to ignore its polish history
2:22 BS. There are light railways (line S2 and S3) and buses (RL, 175) going straight from the terminal to the city center (Central Railway Station or Powiśle light railway station). Warsaw, Gdańsk/Gdynia and Kraków are among best communicated airports in Europe with railway and bus connections to the city center (or city centers in case of Gdańsk/Gdynia). No need to pay for taxi/Uber unless you arrive/departure between 11pm and 5am. You can buy ticket at the station or in the vehicle and these are regular tickets (so you can buy a 1-day/weekend/3-day/7-day ticket and use it to get to/from the terminal as well; just remember that in Kraków the terminal in Balice is located in area II). "Only 7 dollars"? For $10 you can buy a 3-day integrated ticket you can use in all area I in Warsaw including the airport in Okęcie :-)
They confused you, there are direct trains and buses to Warsaw Central station(located right in the middle of the city center ),far cheaper than a taxi...
@@MuzykaFilmPolska Yea i have the same filing about that, all the time thes stupid comments about POLAND IS CENTRAL NOR EASTERN, HOW DARE YOU? jesus, what the metter with being from the east.

No it's not. And I'm saying this as Aleksandra :) Of course people here name Ola for Olga, Oliwia, Olimpia, or Ala for Alina, Alicja, Aleksandra etc. but people are often quite unoperative even in their own language, so even if they use it quite common, it does not mean it's correct in polish. Cheer's!
Your Airbnb host was not right cause there are both -> many bus lines and a train goes straight from the Chopin Airport to Central Warsaw... And train ride from the airport to the city center takes only 15 minutes. The station is directly under the Terminal ;)
Bus 175 takes you from the airport to the centrum which is considered the area around the main train station. I think it was only a $1US. Train from the airport? Good to hear! I think when I was there they were building it. I think your host was right if s/he meant about a bus to the old town from the airport. I think you have to change buses at the train station.
Dima - U like it because Lviv ( or better Lwów) is a Polish city. U know that. And do not worry u should understand Polish. (similar language to other slavic )
Depends who you ask. Just because you consider it to be in Central Europe doesn’t mean it’s that. Each definition is different and if you ask someone else, they will say it is in Eastern Europe. It’s all perspective.
That's a pity you did not visit the city with "a guide"-someone who is your friend from Poland and could show you around...That would be more interesting and tastier, too.😊.

+TheMoneyBag garbage comment. Ukraine in one way or another existed all the way back to the medieval ages with Kievan Rus. Not to mention the Cossack states, and Ukrainian Republics after the Russian Revolution.
@@DiscoverWithDima Kievan Rus does not have a direct connection with today's Ukraine. They were Rusyns, at the end of the 19th century a Ukrainian nation was established which appropriated the culture and history of Ruthenia and Rusyns. I recommend learning history from various sources not only Ukrainian.
Appropriated? Don’t just look at the name of the culture or country and assume that just because a “Ukraine” didn’t technically exist back in those days, that the people who live there today have no connection to the ancient state of Kyivan Rus’. Direct connection or indirect, that culture was always there and it existed on the lands of the former state for centuries.
@@DiscoverWithDima Many Rusyns before the creation of the Ukrainian state did not identify with the Ukrainians. Most did not feel national identity with others. Many of them opposed the narrative that the Rusyns from some point began to be called Ukrainians. I agree that culture existed but not necessarily of today's nation. Referring to comments about the Polish Lviv. I think that it is not about taking the city from Ukraine, but about the remembrance that this city was Polish and its old part looks like Polish cities. The same spirit, architecture, etc. The city expanded and was built when most Poles lived there. Was the residence of Polish kings and an important Polish cultural center. A huge chunk of Polish history. Generally in western Ukraine, you can see a lot of leavings from the Poles. Just like the Poles in western Poland from Germans. I think it should not offend you.

The buildings surrounding the old town market square are gorgeus! 😅
Yes!! Absolutely loved exploring!!
Lviv reminds you about Warsaw because it was a Polish city before the WW II.
Keyword “was.” Of course there are architectural similarities, but there were MANY ethnic groups represented in pre-war Lviv.

FYI, before WW2 Lviv was known as Lwow, a Polish city.
So? And Gdańsk was known as Danzig, a German city.
