People nowadays will never know how it felt being in the midst of a cultural, artistic and creative revolution like the one Hip Hop brought us in the 70s, 80s and 90s.
The way big boy orchestrates his interviews is remarkable like bust said this isn't a interview to him this is like sitting down n talking with family I'm so glad to say I was blessed to be around for that generation to prosper and grow🙏🏽, Life is hip hop ,busta is hip hop we love u two bruthas thank u for this 💯🤎👏🏽🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Living in Nigeria and listening to hip-hop from the 80s until now, I'm getting goosebumps from this discussion. My first mimed rhyme was LL Cool J's and Fresh Prince's "Girls Ain't Nothing but Trouble." When hip-hop came to Nigeria, it felt like a crack addiction; I felt like it was mine because I could keep bars in my head without my parents knowing what I was doing. If I was beefing with someone in the street and suddenly realized that they liked hip-hop or rap, the beef was instantly over. My first rap name was ICEMAX, lol, because at that time, I was addicted to Ice Cube and Ice-T. I could go on for days, man. Hip-hop was a blessing to us. We were seeing everything being done in the States in real-time in Nigeria, from Right On! magazine to Rap City and Yo MTV Raps; all those channels were shown after midnight Nigerian time via tapped off stolen cables lol. Sometimes I would miss it, but I had friends who would have recorded them on VHS tape. If a record dropped in New York today, the following day it would find its way to Nigeria. i can't believe these new generation ruined hip hop bro. Sorry man, i got to say it . cos it hurts like a bad tooth. i hope hiphop come back someday to visit us. Now i call my self dayosonic now which is a combination of my govt name and just added the sonic. Got couple of videos on youtube somewhere.
I got to meet Busta and Spliff last year in Long Beach and both of them are super cool and down to earth, very nice people, just what you expect them to be 👑🔥👌🎧💎🤜
Hearing Busta Rhymes slow down and kick his rhyme on Scenario left me in tears 😭, took me back…I’m unapologetically HIP HOP!!!🥹🫵🏾👊🏾 Here we go yo, so what’s, so what’s, so what’s the scenario!!!
I learned a lot from this interview. Busta took us all the way back. I definitely remember the era of Leaders of the New School. Couldn’t have guessed that he was kicked out the group & then asked to come back. This man is so humble. Also a great actor. My favorites: “Finding Forrester”, “Higher Learning” & of course “Shaft.”
I started listening to this last week and couldn't finish....I actually made time to return to this interview. First time ever and Buss isn't my go to MC (you understand what I'm saying?) Great interview
This was a great podcast. To learn Busta’s history was so 🔥🔥🔥. You never hear bad things about him. He’s a true lyricist and incredible entertainer. Definitely a legend.
Much respect Elder 💯 , im amazed at your age you know who Busta rhymes is because many of your peers couldn't stand or did not pay no mind to hip hop then & now
Man what a great conversation! Its so good to hear the backstory on how brothers look out for other brothers.Dallas Austin is the champion! CBrown was jealous of Busta from the jump. Glad they worked out their issues!
I’m friends with Dinco Dee to this very day since I was 17 my aunt calls Buster by his name Trevor, they used to perform shows to small shows at their job rest in peace, Jimmy Jackson Dinko Dad he invested his money because he believed until group he believed that they will be successful so he put thousands of dollars into that group leaders of the new schoolI never made it in the music industry. My parents were totally against it, but they still have that friendship from one of the members being at his dad and my aunt worked at the same job in New York.
Busta’s stories made me remember my days as a youngsta coming up, but when he spoke on the 98 Posse! I was AMAZED the 1st time I saw that Public Enemy album cover. I knew right then at 15 yrs old that I had to have that car so I could pull up like this. 3 months later, after I bought that album, at 15 yrs old and no license in Missouri, I had a blue 1979 Ninety-Eight Oldsmobile with the caramel leather top and guts with a moonroof, sitting on trues and vogues! I will never forget the trouble I was in when my Mom asked whose car is that and where did those tires and wheels come from? Lol😅
Listening to this interview I realize how blessed and fortunate I was to grow up listening to this era of hip hop. We heard the birth of hip hop. We heard Hip Hop blow up. We heard Hip Hop mature.
Busta Rhymes, is an important foundation of what we call Hip Hop today. Not only is he an incredible lyrical genius he is a great man who has always given us his unique energy that just can't be matched in this day and age! Busta Rhymes will go down in history as one of the true greats. Peace God.
I guess you never heard of Nas. Ninja, he ain't even a better Lyricist than Biggie. He makes very good music but that doesn't make him the best RAPPER to come out of new york. You MUST be Caribbean for that ignorant remark.
Hate to admit it but I gave up on BET awards awhile ago. When I heard Busta was being honored, I HAD to witness it. It was a recognition that was so long overdue. So glad that “maybe next year “ finally came.
I'm over 50yrs old, and I'm a hip-hop head BIG DOGGIE 💯👣 I have never meet this man in my life BIG DOGGIE 💯👣 But this is another great rapper a would knock a dude out for BIG DOGGIE 💯👣 They don't mention him enough when the talk about the greats like how they do Kareem Abdul Jabar BIG DOGGIE 💯👣 HE'S A GREAT PERIOD BIG DOGGIE 💯👣

Busta you will always be my #1!!! I love you King!! Never change!!❤❤
Busta Rhymes was definitely the Mr. T of the 90’s as far as style and charisma goes. There was no one like him in Hip-Hop back then.
😅😅😅Busta Rhymes compared to MR T.
Mr. T WAS THE MR.T OF THE 90S
@@ActualFactualinc Very true there's only one Mr T and only one Busta Rhymes.
That’s true. He was different and special when the creation was happening. Always loved his rhythm and flow

RIGHT! I was in love with this man when he had his locs:
I felt that same energy with Public Enemy. Chuck D is a teacher and an MC. His delivery definitely had everyone stand at attention.
