I was a volunteer for the charity Mind helping a 9 years old Turkish boy to integrate into sociaty, because his parents were refugees and didn't speak a word of English. Of course they had a lovely little council house in a nice area, of the city, with new modern furniture, all curtesy of the tax payer. There was a 3 or 4 years old sibling and mum was expecting again. The boy was classed as a young carer because he had to translate for his family, as he was the only one who can speak English. I went with him to parks and the cinema, etc and during our conversations, he very explicitly told me how his family have come to the UK only for the benefits, how he loves and misses Turkey, how his mother is a saint and his father is better than all the English men, and how he can't wait to be 16 or 18, so he can join the Turkish nationals service to fight the kurds. Since he was only 9 years old it was obvious that there was some heavy indoctrination going on at home. I didn't stay with him very long, so I don't know if he ever changed his mindset

Our family grew up through the troubles in Northern Ireland i had 4 brothers and 2 sisters, my brother's were all in their late teens early twenties not one of them were in any paramilitary groups or involved in any way, and the reason was my father he was strict with the boys as they grew up and they respected him.
