Making Ointment for My Strained Back Muscle

- Turn on captions for details. In this vlog I'm making an ointment for my strained back muscle. It's been tight for a couple of weeks and then all of a sudden it "popped" and I was in a lot of pain. The next day, I consulted www.herballegacy.com to get some ideas for what might help. I had several of the herbs growing in our garden. I made my ointment using elderberry leaves (which should never be used internally, only topically), comfrey leaves, peppermint, wormwood, cayenne pepper and eucalyptus oil. The base was canola oil (I usually use coconut oil, but I was out upstairs and I didn't want to go back down to the pantry to get more), castor oil and beeswax. After applying it before bed, I woke up with significantly less pain and a very increased range of motion. I'll continue using it several times a day until everything's back to normal.
Dry herbs can be purchased and used in place of fresh. I didn't weigh or measure anything except for the beeswax. I use about 1 ounce of beeswax per cup of oil.

@Marilyn Cwik I was reading up on her cancer ,even kidney stone s , liver cancer .it's so easy to think it's just back pain bc that's what it feels like to be.
My sister in law had the same cancer. She complained of a back ache for months. She was diagnosed and two months later,she was gone.
I know I thought the same thing and she was pregnant too.so sad

I found this channel by fluke. I tell myself I don't want to watch the videos because i know this beautiful person has left the earth and what she has left behind makes me sad. I am watching them anyway because I do not feel you meet many woman like her she seems so true and honest and even wise as I watch different topics she discusses she has a soothing quality. What the world misses out on when someone like Andrea is taken to soon.

Whether her backache was cancer or not who knows. I did not know Andrea personally. But it seems to me she live her life every day as a amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Walking the path of the worthy woman. That is all we can do in this life. She was a wonderful example of how to walk the path of a godly woman.

This hurts my heart. Seeing Tom rub your back. What a loving husband. My grandmother died of almost the same
Cancer, except hers spread to her lungs. She was (91) and had severe back pain for months. She refused to go to the doctor until she could no longer eat without vomiting. She lived about 2 weeks and passed at home. So sad that this Happened to Andrea, she was so young and had so much to live for. 😩

Andrea, this video could have been 13 hours long and I would have watched every moment. You are like a soothing balm for me. I was anxious about some things when I sat down to watch. I am calm and relaxed now. Your herbs, life choices, parenting style and gentle nature... I love everything about you. I am old enough to be your mother and I wish I had a daughter just like you. I wish we were neighbors but Alabama is quite a distance away. Tom, I lost my dad to cancer when I was 12. Your loving way with your daughters sometimes brings me to tears.
I know losing Andrea is a great loss miss her so much.I live in Alabama.

And to think she was doing all this in the late stage of her cancer. I think she may have had a bit of intuition/ inkling that her time was possibly near by her videos. She was AMAZING!!!
Watching this brought tears to my eyes. Watching Andrea make a pain reliever she thought would help her. I felt the pain she was going through . What a remarkable woman. You had the best, Tom. Watching this in tears knowing what we do now... It's just not fair. I know God has a plan but I just don't understand it. Praying for faith and strength and comfort for Andrea's family.

Just been watching some of Andrea and her family. We do pray for her husband and children and all who are hurting from her passing. I am reminded how short life is. Never take one moment for granted. One thing I see in Andrea is her LOVE for the simple things in life. Whether she's talking about organizing or whatever, you can see the Joy and Delight all over her face. She had accomplished what God put her on this Earth to accomplish. It was an unassuming role, but nevertheless an extremely important one. Motherhood and being a Wife, two of the greatest callings. She did well and finished her race strong. Her husband and children rise up and call her Blessed. I didn't know her personally, but her life has impacted me greatly on what's most important in this life! She left a rich legacy for her family and many others who will glean from her godly wisdom!♥️💜❤️

I'm so sad. What a loss! We all love Andrea. I've been watching for years and I just realized that Andrea and I share a birthday. Certainly not the year....I'm 62. I'll tell you, I look up to Andrea. She is the woman I wish I could be. This video makes me cry. I wonder if her back pain was the cancer. How could she have known? Not every ache and pain is indicative of cancer. My heart aches for the Mills family.
The most common complaint with this of cancer is back pain.

I just this week found this family, just stumbled on and clicked. Now I am just so sad because the first one I watched was this amazing happy family full of love. I’m so sad and can’t stop watching. Does anyone know how far along she was in her pregnancy and if she was carrying a boy or girl. Tom lost his wife, baby, and pet dog all at once! I pray the Lord will comfort him and the children, as it is obvious Tom is having a really hard time...understandably so. He seems to be feeling overwhelmed with grief. Just so so sad.
You are still so missed Andrea, you had such a wealth of knowledge about herbs. You must have been in so much pain, and it wasn’t long before you were no longer with us. It is almost a year, your fans are still here with your family. Tom has found happiness with April recently, good to see him and the children smiling.
Argon is excellent.I make y muscle cream with coconut oil and rosemary...smells wonderful, feels great.Also relieves tension.I use it on my scalp and hair.Chemo makes my scalp sore and my hair grey,this rosemary oil moistens my scalp and makes my hair darker.The first time I lost my hair,didn't know of this remedy,bought Dr.Axes book,the second time I lost my hair,I used this cream on my bald,sore scalp.My hair came back healthier,thicker,faster.And no bald patches this time around.Thank you so much for sharing,Andrea.love to the MILLS family.😍😘😗😙

I’ve just discovered plantain .. I have a gold mine lol ....I feed the narrow leaf ones to my bunny .
and I made some salve ... i have more leaves in olive oil that’s been sitting a few weeks on the window sill.
I got some bottles today to pour it up. I enjoyed watching how you make yours, I have bees wax ordered to make some more salve and lip balm

I am so glad I can go to my local apothecary and get the dried herbs! I have no plants ( except the peppermint!) I plan on making this using coconut oil. That, and the beeswax should give a REALLY nice consistency!! Excited to eventually try this! Thank You!!

I’m sorry you strained your back! Back pain is the worse can make you feel nauseated and just awful! I’m glad you were able to make your own ointment and it helped! I can just see the pain on your face as Tom was applying it! I go to a chiropractor twice a month to help with my joint problems helps a lot especially my once a month massage! Wish I could get them more!

I am glad it is helping you! Chiropractic care has majorly helped me. I was almost at the point where I had to have surgery. Due to a back injury I had no feeling in my legs for 5 months, but chiropractic care really made a huge difference.
Sorry tour back was bothering you my sciatica hurt all last week and Tylenol, and Arnicare just did not seem to touch it. I contemplated having a massage or going to the chiropractor. This week it is better - hope you too are feeling better soon
Sweet lady 💝 I just hate that she was going through all of that and had no idea about the Cancer. She was still such a great Mom and wife and pushed through with still making videos for us 🥰 I’m glad the kids have these videos to continue with her remedies if they want to. Do you still have those jars? Maybe one day someone could put together a recipe book of her tinctures and salves. I make my own as well and once you start using them, it opens up a whole new world! I would love to try some of hers 💝 she was so lucky to have Tom as a partner during all of this! She will be missed but will live on through these videos, thank you!
