Just in time too. "Isis" was about to take on a new meaning in the early 2010's. It would no longer be anodine to call yourself "a fan of Isis".

It really saddens me that they broke up. This must be like the 4th time I found out about an amazing band that broke up recently. I hope one day they do albums and tour again. They were just too amazing for that not to happen again. Every album they made was just fantastic

Endless Static I search for any hidden recordings and live film here and across the boards in internet searches. Hard to let them go? yes yes yes. I search through Wavering Radiant for clues of how it fell in the abyss. When blasting Oceanic while driving in town or on the hiway so perfect, so heavy and drone-y the speakers force so much bass through my truck that it rumbles and acts as a subwoofer. Isis, so missed and such a great band.

At least they're going out while they're sound is still strong.
So many bands will just ride on the success of their previous albums while they churn out a couple more mediocre records before disbanding. Some of them won't even just give up, they continue to shit on their once godly reputation (ahem...Metallica).
Isis didn't want to be that band. For this, the name Isis will be known as a selection of musicians who never diluted their sound, never compromised their vision.
    RIP, ISIS.

@evanisgay11 The guy in the video here. I met Cliff too in Philadelphia back in 2003 at one of their shows. I've met them all except for the drummer. They're really down to Earth, no frills, straight up. I'll never forget one performance, they came out, didn't say anything, played their set, and when they were done, Aaron was like "Thank you all for coming," and they walked off. No attitude, no nonsense, no foul ups, just heavy and austere brutality for an hour and a half, then finito.

isis is an artistic band. i hate growling, as i did as well with isis. but if you're truly a fan and you've listened to the music, they made it in a way that if you replace it with regular vocals it loses it's power. you can't tell me false light would be better if it was sung normally.

yes U guys will be missed, but I guess if it was time to let it go then it was time. They did what they wanted to accomplish, ya know touring, be around the same band mates for years, musical directions, conflicting situations both musically and in life! Im sure their was a host of issues, but they did on there terms and it was done at a point were they eneded it on a more positive note than it could have been! Everything u guys did , were an amazing journey into ur musical prowess, way ahead of ur time and one of the most unique bands I have ever been exposed to. Isis was genius!!! enjoy ur lives only the best success to u guys! Thanks for everything!
