Nissan Leaf touch screen not working (tips & screen calibration)

- This video is about dead or unresponsive touchscreens in a Nissan Leaf 24kWh & 30kWh, E-NV200 or E-NV200 Evalia.
A common issue with the Nissan touch screen is that it stops working and doesn't respond to your touch. Most commonly, it is the right side of the screen that stops working, which means you can't press the back button.
In most cases, you can resolve this by doing a screen calibration which can be done via a hidden menu which is shown in this video. If that doesn't work, you'll need to replace the touchscreen which I'll cover in a future video.

I was unaware that tablets had a diagnostic menu, so that has been helpful to learn, thank you.
You effectively have three choices to fix if the recalibration doesn't work, buy the new digitiser and fit it yourself for about £15, get a new head unit from Nissan for £900+, or get an independent repairer to replace the digitiser. I recently paid Cleevely EV about £150 to do it as I watched a guide on how to change the digitiser and decided it was beyond my skill level. They did a great job and the screen now works perfectly.
Great video. I thought I was going to have to replace the screen but this fix worked and saved me a lot of time and cost. Thanks!
Glad it helped.
The next video, out this Sunday, is how to change the touchscreen.
You have to pat your head and rub your stomach at the same time, to get it to work.
This fixed the issue on my Leaf. Thanks!
Glad the video helped.
many thanks , whats great info on this gentleman vedios
I think they sell the digitizer part which is common to fail on resistive touch screens, should be cheaper at ~£15 for the part then replacing the whole unit and fairly simple to do.
I've purchased a new touch screen for £10 from China. That video will be coming soon.
@@GoGreenAutos Did this replacement 6 months ago, there are already videos about how to do this.
@@edspace_66Yeah but this video was about how not to do it 😂
I have done the screen swap. Just make sure you have sharp tools as the the screws are glued. Also, I found it safer to take out the head unit.
What I would love to know is why the right hand side of the touch screen fails and always after about 8 years. It's the same on all of them.
I already bought the screen but gave this a try first - exactly same response as in your video - right hand side buttons not working.
If you end up replacing the screen, here's some instructions th-cam.com/video/MtKWLQA_bjY/w-d-xo.html
Handy video I would buy Nissan leaf if money is tight the price is right
Could get calibrate working but hold the button and press somewhere else worked, cheers
Glad the video helped you. When that stops working, here's how to replace the touchscreen th-cam.com/video/MtKWLQA_bjY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=TeV3guDWAqcQofxm
I pressed map 3 times power 2 then map 1 and didnt open any menu. I have 2015 24kw leaf
It took me about 10 goes until I got in
A little slip up. This head unit is not fitted to all LEAFs as the CD player and other changes were introduced with an updated head unit on later models. Hopefully the touch screen problem was resolved at that time. It certainly isn't a problem on my first or second LEAF Tekna.
Yes, I was meant to say all 24 & 30kWh Leafs.
It keeps missing the right buttons! Cant get in the right menu..
This video shows you how to resolve that. If a calibration doesn't work, then you need a new screen which is covered in this video th-cam.com/video/MtKWLQA_bjY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=CbQHiJJdghn5gX_t
