  • I finally got to take my M95 Mannlicher Rifle out to the range that I recently purchased from Royal Tiger Imports (RTI). See the previous videos on this rifle, including the unboxing, here: • Royal Tiger Imports M9...

    That second rifle is a great find.

    Your experience with the M95 carbine is why I always have a full length clearing rod in my gun cases. Just be careful mortaring it on the bench, if you do it directly on the toe it could cause the stock to break there.

      Yeah, I normally have one but missed bringing it that day. Lesson learned.

    Toss a metal paint can opener in your range bag, they are small and light and handy for removing stuck cases. They don't work on everything, but so small and light it's something you can toss in there and forget, but it might save you one day when you forget a cleaning rod.

      Good idea. If I had more time, I could've gotten it out with the tools I had, but it's a small range and people were already waiting, so I didn't want to take up a bunch of time dealing with it.

      @@usna98 Oh that makes sense. Also, sometimes you can make people a little nervous digging in a chamber on a crowded range as well. I wish you had a closer option for a range.

    Nice looking pair right there. Still hoping to give a carbine a good home someday. Love seeing these out being used.

    Lucky! Last two times the 8x50 was offered on Casto’s it was gone right away and I wasn’t quick enough!

      Casto's is gone gotta find a new place for 8x50. Also none of mine from him shot, just the primer went off lodged the bullet and made a huge mess.

    Looked like alot of fun to shoot. Seems that carbine was temperamental though. With the weather improving a range trip should be in order for me soon too.

  • @justinsargenti1573

    Cool carbine, seems you actually have a cavalry variant and not a stutzen. Practically the same thing but with different sling and handguard configurations. Front band is from a stutzen though, that’s a common wartime modification.
    lmk if you ever want to part with it for some coin or another unmodified m95 as I could certainly use it in my m95 collection lmao

    • @usna98
      @usna98  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Yeah, I waffled over calling it a cavalry carbine or a stutzen. I've had some more knowledgeable folks look at it and they've said both...go figure. Anyways, I'll be hanging on to this one!

    • @justinsargenti1573
      @justinsargenti1573 ปีที่แล้ว

      Copy that lmk if you have a change of heart!
      Handguards are the sure fire way to distinguish whether a rifle is a stutzen or carbine as a base. Stutzens you get more hand room ahead of the finger grooves and the barrel bands are closer together as such. Inverse is true for carbines and carbines got updated with bayonet lugs and stacking rods as time progressed. Number and placement of Sling swivels dictate the subvariants and that’s a whole other rabbit hole. Cheers!

    I just got a m95 in 8x50. I can only load 2 rounds at a time or my rounds will nose dive right into the mag well instead of chambering. Does anyone know of a fix for this?

    Hey this might help you. Century Arms has P38's on their C&R section. Not sure I want to spend that much when for 300 more you can buy a WW2 one.
