ಕುಂಭಮೇಳ
ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಪ್ರಯಾಗ್ ಅಂದರೆ ಕಾವೇರಿ ಕಪಿಲ ಸ್ಪಟಿಕ ಮೂರೂ ನದಿಗಳು ಸೇರುವಂತ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಸ್ಥಳ, ಈ ಸ್ಥಳವು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಮೈಸೂರು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಟಿ ನರಸೀಪುರದಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಹಾಗು ಈ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ತಿರುಮಕೂಡಲು ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ . ಈ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಪುರಾತನ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನಗಳಾದ ಅಗಸ್ತ್ಯೇಶ್ವರ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ, ಗುಂಜನರಸಿಂಹ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ , ಭಿಕ್ಷೇಶ್ವರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ ಗಳನ್ನೂ ನೋಡಬಹುದಾಗಿದೆ ಈ ಪುಣ್ಯಕ್ಷೇತ್ರವನ್ನು ಅಗಸ್ತ್ಯ ಮುನಿಗಳು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆಂದು ಪುರಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಪ್ರತಿ ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೊಮ್ಮೆ ಕುಂಭಮೇಳ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ . ಕುಂಭಮೇಳದಂದು ಈ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಸ್ಥಳ ತ್ರಿವೇಣೀಸಂಗಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿ ಅಗಸ್ತ್ಯೇಶ್ವರನ ದರ್ಶನ ಪಡೆದರೆ ಕಾಶಿ ವಿಶ್ವನಾಥನ ದರ್ಶನ ಮಾಡಿದಷ್ಟೇ ಪುಣ್ಯ ದೊರಕಲಿದೆಯಂತೆ
The Kumbh Mela
Dakshina Prayag or Kaveri Kapila is a holy place where all the three rivers meet. This place is located in T Narasipuram in Mysore district of Karnataka and is called Thirumukoodalu.The oldest temples in the sanctum sanctorum, the Agastheeswara Temple, the Gunjanarasimha Temple and the Bhiksheshwara Swamy Temple are also mentioned in the Puranas. The Kumbh Mela is held every three years. If you take a bath in the holy place Triveni Sangama on the Kumbh Mela, you will receive the darshan of Agastheeswara.
