    Wowza, you are so right that creating products for TPT is different than creating things for your classroom! I appreciate the time you took to film this tutorial/series because I've wanted to become a seller for years but have never started because it was intimidating when reading through the policies and procedures. You explained this in a way that makes this task seem much more doable and that's amazing! Thanks again.

    Hi Michelle. WOW - Thank you for this video. As a teacher - you are amazing at teaching how to get up and running. I could not have managed to create my own TPT account with all of these items without your guidance. I really appreciate you and you knowledge. You are truly gifted. Sincerely, Tara McCarthy, Adapted PE Teacher - New TPT page owner.

    Hi Michelle! Thanks for this series. It's been super helpful! You've helped me so much with your videos through the past couple of years that I wanted to offer some tricks I use when lining up text boxes @ 11:02.
    I will either press the shift key along with the arrow key and move the text box. This moves the box ever so slightly. I can also choose both boxes, right click, choose Align vertically, and middle. This will line the boxes up perfectly!
    I hope you're enjoying this Texas heat!!

    This video is super helpful! Thank you so much! I'm trying to flatten my document using Adobe, however, I think I might not be able to do this using the free version of Adobe. Does anyone have a way to flatten a document (without making it blurry) without subscribing to Adobe or another paid service? The same goes for securing it with a password. I'm also curious why making a product into a pdf isn't enough to flatten it/ why do you have to go through the step of making each page an image first? Thanks again!

    Thank you for this series! I've followed your previous videos (seriously, when we had to go fully digital for quarantine, it was a "Jesus take the wheel" situation and you were a bless-sing) So when I noticed you had started a TpT series I was so happy to not have to struggle with finding a youtuber that my ADD doesn't immediately balk at (it's a me problem, but it's real). Anyway! This series was really helpful and if you are thinking of adding to it (PLEASE!) I'm definitely struggling with mockups and previews, and the storefront side of things, as well as technical/security measure aspects such as watermarks. I know there's more, but I think that's a good starting point as far as shamelessly begging for more content. Thanks again!

    This seems to work for exporting out image files (such as JPEG). What about multiple slides, as in lesson slides? I export out to PowerPoint but that often causes issues, such as overlapping text that wasn't overlapping in Google Slides. In that case I have thus far found it easier to just to use PowerPoint, knowing that what you see is what you get. Exporting to PDF (from Google Slides) seems good though, and when using File>Download>PDF, rather than Print to PDF, links maintain functionality!

      Because anything made on a school or work issued computer is often subject to their regulation which often includes that anything designed on that property, regardless of whether or not they made it, belongs to them.

      Because your school district would likely not be happy if they found out you were using a computer they supplied you to make your own money. Most districts have a technology agreement saying you'll only use your district issued computer for school purposes. It's the same reason many districts have said teacher vloggers cannot vlog during their planning time or on school property. They don't want you working on your own business endeavors on their dime.

    • @PocketfulofPrimary
      @PocketfulofPrimary  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both Jessica and Firefly930 summed it up pretty well! You have a technology agreement for your school/district issued device which almost 100% includes a clause about not using it for non-work related purposes.

    How do you make sure your product isn’t too much like another sellers product? I’m just afraid that when I search for ideas of products I’ll end up making very similar copies even when I don’t look at the product a second time for inspiration. It seems so many people on TPT use the black bar and white lettering you use when creating their stuff.

    Do you have to link the TPT store that the clip art is from? I noticed since you converted to jpeg that maybe the link went away?

    What process did you use to get your Copyright on your creations?

    • @PocketfulofPrimary
      @PocketfulofPrimary  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'll clarify this in a future video but copyright protects original works of authorship and doesn't require registration. All TpT products are protected under the The Digital Millennium Copyright Act since they are original works of authorship.

    Hello Michelle,
    I have been watching a lot of your videos as I am about to launch my TPT store! I wanted to get your opinion on my first "free" product. I made a slide deck with 8minute or so warm up for each day M/F - Quick Write Prompts, T/TH - Word Part, and W - Allusions. There are 4 weeks worth of them in total and is about 75 slides. Is this too large for my first free product? Should I maybe do like create just a 1 week one and then upload full month as my first paid product? Hoping you could give me your opinion! Thanks =)

    What if you have a link in your document? When you insert it as an image it removes the link

    Hi Michelle, just wondering about the Balloon clipart- I thought it said under "DON'TS" that it shouldn't be used for on-demand printable items- would brithday cups not count for that?

    • @PocketfulofPrimary
      @PocketfulofPrimary  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there! On-demand printable items typically refers to posters, t-shirts, mugs, etc. from services like Printify. Labels for a birthday cup would not be an on-demand printable item. In cases like this, you can always email the clipart seller and ask if you need clarification!

    Why can’t we use school provided devices?

    • @PocketfulofPrimary
      @PocketfulofPrimary  ปีที่แล้ว

      Most school issued devices have a contract in place that prevents commercial use of any kind. Even if you don't have a specific contract for your device, you most likely have a contract for your employment that dictates how you can use the technology.

    Why can’t you just export the original Google Slide to PDF rather than saving them as images and creating a new PDF?

      My question as well? Why is there the extra step?

    Michelle: thank you for your videos!!! Unrelated question: Does it bother you that now we have to give our SS# to get paid as sellers by TpT?
    Actually just closed my account because I won’t give up that information. Am I the only one? Thank you, Daniela

    Couldn’t you have exported the slides directly to pdf instead of images, and then secured the pdf? This is quite confusing.

    I think that if you were doing something as easy as birthday tags, your presentation would have been more streamlined. For example, changing the size of yr fonts so many times and not being able to line things up. Also, I question you not leaving a small space between yr cards and on the outer border. You need to slow down a bit. Looked rushed.

      I’m showing the creative process behind a product because some people are curious about. Creating a product isn’t always streamlined… this is a realistic look at how it comes together. Also, you’re more than welcome to leave space between the tags if you create them. After years of cutting out tags and cards for my classroom, I have found it easiest and the biggest time saver if they don’t have space between. You can slow down the speed of a TH-cam video or pause along the way if I’m going too fast for your learning style. Everyone is different!

    You are so good at posting TPT products. I am still happy with this. I am always excited for my 11th birthday in december. Thank you, Michelle!
    And one more thing, I have been earning $100,000 dollars per day.
