I was so excited to see this video as I am an amateur soap maker too. I have some tips 1. Using sodium lactate solution would help to get the soap harder. 2. Adding sugar will help to lather better 3. Castor oil also helps in good lather . I use about 5% in all soaps. 4. Fragrance oil works better and essential oils not needed as you are going to wash them away. 5. Most important : lye can be very dangerous. It can cause blindness if it gets into your eyes . Please use safety googles. I really appreciate your enthusiasm and creativity. I thought I would share this with you as you may find it useful. Also try making body butters. Super easy and very effective on skin!

*Please don’t add water to caustic soda(NaOH), there is good chance it can explode. Slowly add caustic soda particles to water. *It is recommended to use online lye calculator, the measurements of lye can vary depending on the type of oil used. *Test the ph of the final product. If it is too high, don’t use the soap or else it can cause skin irritation. The ph can be tested using the ph paper strips. Best wishes for soap making!!🙂

The soap should be made only with safety precautions. 1) You have to wear goggles as the lye solution if entered into the eye can be very risky to the eyes. 2) the caustic soda should be slowly added to the water (the correct method) ..if it's done vice versa chances are it will explode. 3) A mask for the nose is a must. The fumes while making the lye if inhaled can be very dangerous. Please guide your subscribers too sis as many will try to make by watching your video.

Be it any soap, you cannot make it without caustic soda and oil. That's the basic requirement as per chemistry. But your homemade soap may be chemical free as you don't add other greater sulphates and preservatives.
