    Great job...I advise buying some plastic pry tools like the pros use so you won’t risk breaking something with a screw driver.
    Happy New Year!

    Tried this trick on a 2007 Landcruiser 100 and broke the clips, as it’s a different design. There are no center posts. Instead, there are 4 tiny clips, 2 on each side of the covers. To release them, press vertically down on the cover and gently pry the sides out to release the clips (caution: they’re tiny and break very easily!). Then, pull up from the front to release the metal clip and pins from the rear. The rear is the same design as the front. Good luck!

      This is very interesting. I thought only the LX had 2 posts factory racks

      I have the same style. I wish someone would do a video on this style of roof racks...

      I have an 01 LC and an 06 LX and I discovered the hard way that the covers attach to the LX differently. Broke all but one of the plastic clip edges off of two of the covers. Time for a new roof rack I guess.. lol

    Question: is there a way to keep the roof rack rails on and just remove the crossbars? If you remove the end covers of the rack rails, will the crossbars slide out, as it looks like there may be an inner piece of rail blocking them? Thank you.

    Hey, I have a 2000 LX470 and the boot cover under the cover you took out it's brittle. Do you know what it's called. I've looked online and cant seem to find a replacement for it. Let me know. Thanks.. note: I also have a '06 GX470 and it doesnt have this piece. I wonder if I even need it there..

      I think it’s there to protect the paint from the cover. But like you said, they harden and get brittle over time and eventually scuff up the paint anyways, like it did on mine 😞. Not sure what it’s called, best way is to replace it with a aftermarket roof rack 😉

    Hey, I have a 2000 TLC and I am in the process of removing the factory roof rails. My question is, on the passenger side, the middle foot tower, does it have the same bolts ? Mine has a regular bolt, like all the other TT-40, but one, towards the back is different and hard to get out - rusted. Any tips would be appreciate it.
    Thanks

      Mine were the same bolts as everything else, however, they were super rusted as well. I ended up drilling them out.

    Easier way it just to lightly tap the plastic covers from the inside toward the outside with a hammer or mallet, they have a seam and pop off super easy, takes about 1-2 seconds each, plus you don't risk breaking the plastic clips.

    Hi there from Switzerland. I am just in process to change the oem roof railing and replace it to a rhino rack to my 100 series 2003. Thanks for the video. Appreciate it and I’ll give it a try. Thanks and your channel helped me already twice. Thx!

    Sir, Thank You so much! I have a 98’ Land Cruiser and it’s been leaking. The seals where the racks go into were shot. I resealed. You saved this gal a small fortune! ❤

    hello, sir. I just got a quick question about my 2004 LC, there is a noise come out from my abs accumulator when I start the car or step on brake couple times. if I want to fix it, do i need to replace the entire abs accumulator or just the motor inside of it? thank you.

    • @chowcares
      @chowcares  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Changhong Li have you had any braking issues? I’ve heard of those going bad causing loss of braking power

    • @changhongli9969
      @changhongli9969 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The brake feels soft, since that accumulator already made noise when I bought the car, so I do not know what is the normal brake power.

    • @changhongli9969
      @changhongli9969 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      By the way, should I replace the entire accumulator if I lose some braking power? Thanks

    • @chowcares
      @chowcares  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Changhong Li mine was weird when I picked up my land cruiser. I ended up getting the oem Toyota rebuild kit for it and doing it myself. It fixed my braking issue. I still need to take it into the dealer to get the braking system properly bled, but it works at 90% now so it’s been acceptable so far. If yours has a similar issue I would recommend start from the rebuild kit because replacing the whole master is expensive

      @@chowcares great, should I start with replacing the HBB motor?
