Around 13:50 I think there was a little bit confusion about audio and midi : remote control is midi only and you can have several midi devices but only one audio device , in this case it doesn't matter if the Steinberg UR-TR4 is the audio device or the Modx. What we see here are the Midi ports of the Modx AND the Steinberg UR-RT4 , but of course you choose the Modx for remote control. But anyway I like the Modx and I will buy the MODX7 and I use Studio One but the mackie control is supported so I think I will work too.
Glad to see Yamaha adding useful features after launch. Huge feature request: add the ability to map external MIDI CCs to any parameter on any part - bonus if you can add a macro feature to external MIDI mapping. I plan for Modx to replace most of my normal use software instruments. Full access to everything inside Modx through MIDI would unlock some very deep functions, including use with multiple MIDI controllers dedicated to certain functions / instruments.
Great show again. Love how Yamaha US is doing their support, not only the videos. But since i have both a montage and a Genos, could you please reach over to Yamaha Europe to set up the same support as Yamaha US does for the synths and dp’s. All i can say is : Yamaha US keep up the great work and great communication, thats why the Montage becomes a better place with every patch.

Great presentation Blake, thanks for taking time explaining how to use the MODX Remote. Although I am having hard time to figure out few things. For example, how do you use a button to act as step button (like using a button to cycle through waveforms in retrologue), or how to change a button from momentary to latch mode. Last but not least, does not seem to be possible to open a VST browser to change VST loaded, or to change programs, or at least I did not find a macro to assign to the F buttons to do so. Thanks!
Thank you Blake . The Montage 88 key is twice as heavy as the 61 key .Is it just because of the keys or is it in the structure ? I use Cubase mostly and am thinking about the studio environment to use a montage .Keep well .
Quick question? can you use the modwheel of the XS to affect the MODX, since you've connected the XS to the MODX via midi if so can you use the sliders/faders of the XS to manipulate the the volume of the sounds of the MODX?
Can you do some things with ABLETON LIVE? I need some simple help with getting the sounds to come out of ableton from the MODX. also Im using ABLETON as an interface. how can I get just the DAW sounds to play with out the MODX sounds?
Still confused how to get my MODX8 and Cubase 11AI on a windows PC to control ‘Play’ ‘Record’ etc on the hardware buttons of my MODX transport controls. It will just bring up the internal step sequencer for the MODX. Set Mackie to 2 MODX Chanel 2 in and out. I’m lost need to get my act together because I want to buy Cubase 11 Pro when I get better at this. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance
My mac has allowed me to download the installer but will not allow me to install the Yamaha drivers so I can't utilize my modx.s sound, Mad frustrated = any tips?

Thanks for the tips. May I make a suggestion: Your voice goes very quiet then loud then very quiet again. It's quite hard to follow you sometimes. Also, I think it would help if you ordered your thoughts and rehearsed what you are going to say as a lot of the time you are wandering between subjects. This kind of tutorial requires ideally a really thoroughly prepared script and very clear, methodical presentation.
I am thinking of buying a MODX but would like to know whether the Cubase DAW Remote setup works for Studio One, anybody here has experience with that? thnx

One thing I've never fully understood is what hybrid mode is all about and why you would use it over Multi or Single.

I use it in FL Studio and it works really well.
