    Love how you breakdown precisely how to prepare and execute every shot as well as showing how to construct a mental image of the cue ball reaction and path after every stroke, including your explanation of the playable options available and consequences associated with each option. Billiards is all about mental drawing. It’s the art of visualization. You really are an exceptionally great pool coach and I have genuinely benefited a lot from your videos. Keep up the good work my friend. Cheers!

    Good stuff Sharivari ! My takeaway from this video is that using a touch of inside or outside makes a big difference in how the cue ball moves. Personally, before watching this video at least I would have given myself quite a bit more angle on a few of your shots because I, at least until now, use no spin on my shots unless it's absolutely necessary.

    Really helpful explanations of what is going through your mind. Thank you for showing what you'd do in a tournament rather than doing "show off" shots, but instead showing how you work out the safest shot. I have a question: I've been told that good players don't imagine the ghost ball but are instead able to aim correctly without thinking about it. Can you explain how you do it? - when you are carefully aiming, do you imagine the ghost ball or do you aim for a specific spot on the object ball and naturally adjust so the cue ball will hit the right spot?

    Think three shots ahead , .....ask yourself , if I had ball in hand , where would I put the cue ball to get position on the next shot two shots , think three shots ahead and go BACKWARDS ( from the 3 to the 2 to the 1 ) ???
    Where is the position area with the widest margin for error and has natural angle for the needed position to the next shot , ( whether 2 ,3 ,4 ,5 rails).. path or route options are decided. Play shape where your speeds of stroke needed to run out are your favorite and most consistent types of strokes you like to use and feel the most comfortable with. Get the right distance and correct angle and running out becomes a piece of cake !!!! ....When you can look at the layout of the table and figure out the optimal run out pattern , ....
    then say to yourself ,. " GAME OVER "....then proceed to run the rack and win the game ,. .....the land of , " DEAD STROKE "....is pretty sweet !!!!!.....pay up Mister !!!!

    Would it be just as simple to go forward off the 7 and shoot the 8 into the side or or long corner? Then you could just follow a little for the shot on the 9
    My thinking is taking a slightly harder shot in order to get better position on the money ball

    • @buster5643
      @buster5643 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also english word is "ritual" (rit-chu-ull)

    • @Sharivari
      @Sharivari  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, there is too many that could go wrong, especially if you're trying to get it into the side you need pin point position. And getting position for the eight like I did is not particularly harder, imho even easier. One important principle is too not make things a lot tougher just to get the cue ball to a "ball in hand" spot, if you have a solid alternative.
      Thanks for clarifying, I was about to say it but it was way too difficult to pronounce 😄

      That principle is silly. Sure, all other things being equal, I prefer to go forward than backward, but all other things are not equal in most real situations. In this example, going forward would mean rolling the ball slowly, which is a needlessly touchy shot, and it wouldn't give you a better chance of staying in line.
