That's very true for a lot of the bigger cheaper brands. But some of the newer drives like this or my new Samsung 990 Evo plus has enough HMB cache that the transfer speeds don't drop like a stone anymore due to the fact that they can recover filled cache somehow now.
Biggest difference of value drives vs more expensive ones is the value ones can slow down a lot on a big file transfer (think 100GB or something)

Little comparison for ya: Seagate Firecuda 530 NVMe PCIe 4.0 500GB. I got read 6964.64 MB/s & write 6118.36 MB/s

My New Samsung 990 evo Plus 4tb gets 6199 read 5841 write. Not performance optimized yet. My P41 platinum SK Hynix 2tb gets 7123 read and 6899 write.
