  • John Owen (17th Century):
The 17th century Puritan John Owen was one of the greatest theologians that the church has ever known. His Works, which are contained in sixteen volumes and his seven volume commentary on Hebrews are without equal. However, recognizing the infinite greatness of the gospel that he sought so passionately to expound, he felt obligated to write the following in his work “Biblical Theology”:
“It has been my professed intent and stated purpose-almost my one and only purpose in this work-to set forward the theology of Christ. This is not just the teaching of the gospel but the disposition of mind which alone can embrace it, and that goal has been ever present before my eyes from the start of this volume… I personally do not claim to have attained to any great peak in the study of heavenly wisdom, or to be able to do more than stammer pitifully when I come to discuss or teach of such high matters. Here we are on ground where, at best, we can hope to see in part. Here is subject matter which the entire breadth of human intellect could never grasp; that is, until we cease to see through a glass darkly, and come to know even as we are known as we enjoy God without limit (I Corinthians 13:12). There is little need of our denying our deep ignorance and shame of sloth when the same Apostle, in that epistle, admits that ‘If any man think that he knoweth anything, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know’ (I Corinthians 8:2).”
    (John Owen, Biblical Theology, p.591)

Thank you brother Paul for always pointing us to Jesus, and exalting Him.

Thank you brother Paul. I believe this isn't only for ministers but for all Christians. We are all in ministry, family, friends, work place. We should not be mediocre Christians as Mr. Baucham says. Thank you again.

I could help you out if you can't afford them, you probably know that some of these books are online, but I definitely prefer having books right in front of me instead of on a screen, I don't deserve the life I'm living now and the amount of money I have made, I definitely would like to help you if I can some how.

@@djjnh6141 You are such a great person of God! I am really grateful for the offer but I don't think it is going to be easy since I live from a different country. I don't want you to spend much money for me. Still, I am very grateful and I pray to God that He will bless you even more!

I found a video just recently: Paul Washer partners with Pope-loving Ecumenical leader (Servus Christi channel)
    With this description:
"Paul Washer and Heartcry Missionary Society are in formal partnership with Martin Bucer Seminary whose president is pope-loving ecumenist, Thomas Schirrmacher.
Schirrmacher is very close to the Pope to the extent it seems he is a fellow Jesuit himself. Heartcry sponsors and partners with Martin Bucer Seminary and has done so since late 2013.
People in the "discernment" realm such as Pulpit and Pen, Justin Peters, No Compromise Radio and others have deliberately refused to comment on this information while they have been apprised of it. This level of cowardice and fraudulence is unacceptable. Paul Washer and Anthony Mathenia are two of five HeartCry board members who have sanctioned this partnership.
Apostasy is afoot and it seems none are exempt from compromise."
If this is true, then P. Washer and Heartcry Missionary Society should explain because this is disturbing. How could this happen? Unity at the expense of TRUTH? Who's rebuking the rebukers? Who's discerning the discerners? No one's talking about this. Please clarify this. It's heart breaking.

I hope Mr. Washer addresses this. I find it hard to believe what Servus Christi shared, but then, Mr. Chavez seems to earn his money causing division and posting things to make something appear the way he wants it to; he has caused a great deal of heartache for many from what I have found on a quick research doing this too. He plants doubt. Know who else does that? Satan. I have thought I found someone who preaches the truth from the Bible. I pray Mr. Washer has not become what he has preached against all these years! I also pray that Mr. Chavez repents of his way of earning money. One cannot serve 2 masters, trying to deliberately ruin reputations of men, who are human and make mistakes as do we all, but to create a channel to deliberately make others look bad to make himself better? Research Joshua Chavez for yourself. I wish I had before I made my first comment here that I am currently editing. No one will agree with every preacher, and I don't agree with everything Paul Washer preaches, but I won't stop watching his sermons because of trash people like Servus Christi post trying to discredit what he is doing...PREACHING THE GOSPEL! Until your post today, never heard of Servus Christi. After prayer, my conclusion is to leave it in God's hands. He will bring all to light in His time. Fritz Garcia, maybe you should address Mr. Washer in a personal email ?
