So if am going to split mixer out to two active speaker do I have to worry about ground lift. Because I was about to buy mic splitter. Am little unsure about common ground as each device will have it's own group but again all my device run on same UPS out.
if I'm not mistaken as long as the xlr splitter is on balanced output. it shouldn't be a problem. in my case. i have a 4 channel power amplifier. then i need 4 channel of them for my 4 units of passive subwoofers. it didn't cause any problem on my speaker after all.
It has a lot of uses. In the mixer, you can send the same line level output signal to two identical active speakers or amp driven speakers. That makes a four already. You can also make an effects or auxiliary send and route it to any rack gears you like or when A/B'ing stuff. It's purpose is simply for expanding your output sound to more and more gears or speakers. It saves you more connections to use later when needed. It's pretty useful especially on live performances and gigs where you'll be running sound reinforcement systems with more than one source of audio signal inputs and outputs. Most of all, it's fun! :)
