I saw my ex recently actually getting on the bus. I laughed so much. It was surprising how much seeing him lifted my mood. I didn't talk to him but I realized that if I could come out of that hellish breakup whole and strong then I could do really anything 😄

@@nicolarollinson4381 From my point of view, I have seen many movies and TV series of this genre but Normal People has something extra. The actors play the chemistry between Marianne and Connell beautifully, and the plot is engaging. That is why it is one of my favorite series. I recommend it
I actually think he loved her so much it was almost painful and it's why he pulled away. He was so shy and repressed he couldn't let himself fully commit to her because he knew it was the real deal and he couldn't let himself be that vulnerable. Interestingly he says I love you multiple times in the series, she only says it once. By the end of the series, once he's had his breakdown, they've done a full 180 from the start - he is far more reliant on her and she has gained the self confidence to follow her own happiness and do what's best for both of them.

I loved the book and didn't picture her this perfect lookin while reading. Loved the book and the show looks wonderful.

I mean I knew better at that age, I knew that hurting the person I "loved" wasn't a form of showing my alleged love. I mean...I get it ..at the age of 14 years old yes..15 yes...but if you are in college (they probably were older than 18 years old) and still have these issues, then there is a problem.
Leaving that aside, my reply was an answer to the other one which praised the guy for his behaviour and said that he loved Marianne so much. Considering his actions, no he didn't. And that's where I started to mention the scenes that backed up my answer. I wasn't even talking about the whole story, yes they are both broken and have lots of insecurities, but that wasn't my point. It seems like you haven't even read my comment and just suddenly decided to make a remark. Next time when you decide to add your insightful comments make the effort to read the one that you are replying to.
