Hi Annie, you are the Shabby Chic queen!! I do love my Mod Podge too. I've never tried the high gloss nor the antique ones. Yes, you have to try the plastic wrap method. It's nice and fun, but use parchment paper and not wax paper. 😍 All your projects were beautiful. All these are beautiful! You my friend are a decopauge queen! I love watching you create and change an item from trash to an amazing treasure. I love shabby-chic and love love love to decopauge. I use the liquid patina from DIY paint. I use it like you would Mod Podge. On the item I am decopauging on to and then, of course, on top of the napkin, paper, or whatever I am putting it on. But for a beautiful high gloss and for protection, I use Krylon triple thick clear glaze spray. 2 coats will protect it forever. Lol It gives your project such a beautiful high gloss shine that NASA called and told me to stop using it because I was confusing the airplanes. Lol, lol. It is also water resistant, non-yellowing, and dries very very quickly. It comes in a matte finish as well. The other thing I always tell people is use the saran wrap to avoid tears and rips. I certainly am not trying to tell the decopauge queen how to decopauge. Lol. 1 last thing if you haven't tried the iron method, you must. It's smooth as silk when you finish. Yes you can definitely do that. I get the paints that are left behind or that people return and they're only 50 cents. It's so economical. You got to save a buck everywhere you can. Thanks again for watching

All the DIYs are so beautiful, Annie. 😍 I have used Deco Art's Triple Thick (brilliant brush on gloss glaze) it leaves such a deep shine, it's gorgeous. I've used mod podge for decoupage, but I just purchased 2 other types of adhesives I want to try: Aleenes tacky glue, and also Beacon 3-in-1. Neither of these is water-based and though I couldn't find the formula for Aleenes (they say it is proprietary), I can tell you that Beacon's 3-in-1 is acetone based and I've heard (from other creatives) scrapbook paper, napkins, etc. don't wrinkle up because it's not water-based. Thank you so much for all the inspiration! ♥

I’ve never heard of foam clay but I get great results using 100% acrylic from a tube, as for caulking. I use a caulking gun to fill the mold, but they do have small tubes you can squeeze just like toothpaste. It comes in clear or white, takes a bit longer to dry, but it’s bendable, and doesn’t crack. It is easy to take out of the molds as well, and is flexible to adhere to curves and round objects, not like clay that has to be put on right away, unless it’s a flat surface.
Loved this video. Going to try the scrapbook paper trick. For decoupage paper to paper I use Liquitex matte medium, mod podge for the rest. I use triple thick by Deco Art American which is a gloss glaze. I can’t believe your sweet Luna didn’t get paint on her 💜
Great tip! I have never tried that. I am going to look into that. It's always good to have different products even if it's for the same thing. Different products. You are different kind of glazes and glosses so thank you so so much
Actually no, I studied finance and have a master's in international business. I've worked most of my life as an analyst. Believe it or not and currently work as a grant writer, but I've always loved crafting and creating and designing and imagining. I use whatever is sitting around, often mod podge, but prefer Goldens matte gel medium. It has less water than mod podge so wrinkles alot less. Probably any gel medium would work. I paint my air dry clay before it dries which helps it not crack. Also you have to avoid stretching your clay casting. Stretching the clay encourages cracks.
Well, I never thought of using paint to keep the air dry from cracking. That's amazing, never seen that before. Thank you so very much for your tips and tricks. I got to try that out. Which brand of clay do you use?
@Crafting with Indie-Annie Jones I've been using Sculpey because that's what I could find locally. (I dont want to pay shipping.)I forget the first one I tried from hobby lobby but it was awful. Really sticky. I'll try others eventually but I've been satisfied with sculpey. I haven't been casting very long but love iod, prima redesign and zuri.
The weather in Miami is actually beautiful. It's not too hot. It's not muggy. It stays at a high of around 82 right now. Low around 70 so it is the perfect weather. That's why I say it's my spring time. Thanks for watching sweet friend
I actually have the best luck using hot glue in my molds above everything else! It stays flexible like foam clay, but it’s WAY stronger and not so fragile. Every time I try to use foam clay, my tiny parts break off such as birds legs, flower stems, etc. If you know a trick for that, PLEASE share because I love everything else about the foam clay just like you! With air dry clay, I just use slip to repair cracks with water and clay mixed together then rubbed over the crack or if something breaks off then you put slip on both broken pieces and put it back together like you’re gluing it. Then use the slip all around the break or crack where you just put the two pieces back together….sorry for the long winded message!

Appreciates comments and help from everyone. As far as the air dry foam clay, i put it in the freezer for at least 10 to 15 minutes and it sets pretty well and then it just hardens over time

I’ve never heard of foam clay but I get great results using 100% acrylic from a tube, as for caulking. I use a caulking gun to fill the mold, but they do have small tubes you can squeeze just like toothpaste. It comes in clear or white, takes a bit longer to dry, but it’s bendable, and doesn’t crack. It is easy to take out of the molds as well, and is flexible to adhere to curves and round objects, not like clay that has to be put on right away, unless it’s a flat surface.

Loved this video. Going to try the scrapbook paper trick. For decoupage paper to paper I use Liquitex matte medium, mod podge for the rest. I use triple thick by Deco Art American which is a gloss glaze. I can’t believe your sweet Luna didn’t get paint on her 💜
Great tip! I have never tried that. I am going to look into that. It's always good to have different products even if it's for the same thing. Different products. You are different kind of glazes and glosses so thank you so so much

Actually no, I studied finance and have a master's in international business. I've worked most of my life as an analyst. Believe it or not and currently work as a grant writer, but I've always loved crafting and creating and designing and imagining. OMGOSH, I can’t handle watching or hearing paper tear much less doing it myself. For me it’s equal to someone scratching their nails on a chalkboard.

I use whatever is sitting around, often mod podge, but prefer Goldens matte gel medium. It has less water than mod podge so wrinkles alot less. Probably any gel medium would work. I paint my air dry clay before it dries which helps it not crack. Also you have to avoid stretching your clay casting. Stretching the clay encourages cracks.

@Crafting with Indie-Annie Jones I've been using Sculpey because that's what I could find locally. (I dont want to pay shipping.)I forget the first one I tried from hobby lobby but it was awful. Really sticky. I'll try others eventually but I've been satisfied with sculpey. I haven't been casting very long but love iod, prima redesign and zuri.

The weather in Miami is actually beautiful. It's not too hot. It's not muggy. It stays at a high of around 82 right now. Low around 70 so it is the perfect weather. That's why I say it's my spring time. Thanks for watching sweet friend
I have used white glue as well as Mod Podge. I find the Mod Podge a bit thick to work with sometimes so add a tiny bit of water.

I actually have the best luck using hot glue in my molds above everything else! It stays flexible like foam clay, but it’s WAY stronger and not so fragile. Every time I try to use foam clay, my tiny parts break off such as birds legs, flower stems, etc. If you know a trick for that, PLEASE share because I love everything else about the foam clay just like you! With air dry clay, I just use slip to repair cracks with water and clay mixed together then rubbed over the crack or if something breaks off then you put slip on both broken pieces and put it back together like you’re gluing it. Then use the slip all around the break or crack where you just put the two pieces back together….sorry for the long winded message!

Appreciates comments and help from everyone. As far as the air dry foam clay, i put it in the freezer for at least 10 to 15 minutes and it sets pretty well and then it just hardens over time
