Aloe is a humectant and it does the same as glycerin those products have aloe as like 2 ingredient or am I not looking at the one your speaking of 🤷🏾♀️
Sunrise aloe is a film forming humectant. It does not leave gaps like glycerine does. This is why glycerin can cause water to escape, where as aloe keeps and prevents water from escaping since it forms a film on the hair
Girl I love it! My hair last and retain more moisture if I at least use glycerin free leave on products like styles! I live in Louisiana and Mann its hot/ humid / swampy! Lol P.S. it does work well in my Wash day rinse out products tho! Thanks 🍯!!!
Thank you Mia! Yes usually wash our products with glycerin are not a problem! And I know Louisiana is super humid lol. These kinks don’t do well in humidity lol. Thanks so much for watching 💕
One brand that I just tried that I do t believe has glycerin is Kriya botanicals. I heard about kriya from natural reign, I bought products from both the low and high porosity lines. I tried the low porosity line 1 time so far and it melted into my hair. Their low porosity product are sold out right now I believe.
you mixed & matched the perfect products for the best results. your hair looks awesome. i think im cool with glycerin, but the climate is dry, so its a good idea for me to find glycerin-free products in my collection just in case. thanks for sharing 😁👍🏻😁
Hi Nisha 👋🏽, your twist out was so pretty and defined! I don't hear many people talk about Bask & Bloom products much, they're definitely on my radar once I use up my stash. I love hibiscus, I infuse oil with it or make tea rinses. Tfs
Hey Nisha! I enjoy these wash day videos that cocktail brands together. Your hair looks lovely, great definition! I also like the Bask&Bloom products and really like thid Leave-In. I recently used the CKK Bentonite Clay Wash and bought several others including the Aloha Clay Wash. I have the Curls Dynasty products and will use them for the first time soon. I look forward to the Aloha Clay Wash video. Congratulations on getting close to 5K Subscribers, so exciting! 🤩
This twist-out looks great Nisha. I need to use my Bask and Bloom products that I have yet to crack open. I’m similar to Gina in that I prefer to use one brand if possible especially for my styling products. But I have used some different brand combos in the past that worked well together.
I live in the Caribbean so I really try to avoid glycerin in my products but certain glycerin free products are not always so accessible here and are overly expensive so I try my best! Love your videos ❤
I don't think i have any dcs without glycerin. I use mostly camille rose in the summer. I have the cocunut water leave in and aloe whipped butter gel in my hair now.
I'm so confused when it's come to glycerin I thought it was good to hve it in your hair products to keep moisture in so why would u use glycerin free products I'm still trying to figured that out sorry ?
I did this video because some people don’t like glycerin for their hair. Typically glycerin pulls moisture from the air into the hair. For some people it’s too much moisture and so styles don’t last. For some people it does the opposite and dries their hair out maybe because they live in a dryer climate. If the air is dry, glycerin pulls the moisture from your hair into the atmosphere. I did this video for those who don’t like glycerin. I’m not saying at all that you shouldn’t use products with glycerin. Many of my favorite products contain glycerin. This is a video for those who don’t like or just want try try a glycerin free wash day.
I heard glycerin can sometimes act like a sealant and if there's alot of it and too early in the process, it can keep out some of the other good things you want to layer after. Causing the rest of the product to sit on top of hair and cause build up.
Glycerin and other humectants is especially a problem for high porosity hair with products that are going to be left in. If they are being rinsed out, they are not a problem. Our cuticles are open and glycerin in dew points higher than 60 will pull more moisture into our hair causing it to swell and tangle. At dew points lower than 35-40, moisture will be pulled out of our hair into the air around us causing our hair to get dry and brittle and possibly break. In normal dew points, glycerin works well to give bouncy, moisturized hair.
I Cant wait to try these products out ....I just have the coils line ....I'm guilty of sticking to one brand but when I ran out on and have to use another brand styler / or leave in then I will do it
Come thru shine! I've still not gotten my hands on Curls Dynasty products- I'm working thru some items and put myself on buying freeze😏😏. When you're avoiding glycerin do you also steer clear of vegetable glycerin?
Hey love! Yes to avoid glycerin you would need to avoid vegetable glycerin. I looked to see if there was a different between regular glycerin and vegetable glycerin. Most hair products contain vegetable glycerin whether they label it at vegetable or not. I hope that helps!
Do Gemini naturals cranberry color vs Ors Sangria color wax to see which is more red? They are both temporary hair colors and look similar, but one is cheaper.
For me, I knew bc it would make my hair very dry. Like when it was wet if would feel so silky and hydrated but as soon as it dried my hair felt brittle and like it needed to be remoisturized the day after wash day
It may come with trial and error. Leace it out and see how your hair responds. My twist outs would be moisturized and when I stepped out during the hot months in PA & now in NC my hair would get dry and puffy- like losing definition. For some it works better in the winter.
I agree with the other ladies. If your hair feels dry or you notice you hair frizzes up and your hair style doesn’t last as long when using products that are high in glycerin. I hope that helps!
Typically it does really affect your hair if it is in rinse out products but I know some don’t like glycerin at all so I wanted to give them options for a full wash day. Thanks for watching!
I just found out my hair hates glycerin so this was great to see. I never heard of bask and bloom so I’ll check them out!
Def do! They are super underrated in my opinion. I love most of their products that I have tried!
Curl junkie moisture rehab doesn't have glycerin. They actually recommended it on their site for those who live in humid climates. I love it

I just used that clay and really liked it!
Yay! It’s one of my favs! I hope you love it 😊

Yes! Def underrated! I need to start adding hibiscus to my other products lol. Thank so much for watching 💕

Looks great as usual. So shiny!!!!
Thank you so much Diane!!!
I live in the Caribbean so I really try to avoid glycerin in my products but certain glycerin free products are not always so accessible here and are overly expensive so I try my best! Love your videos ❤
Thank you so much love! Yes I wish natural hair products were more accessible to those outside the U.S.
Oh ok good to no mybe that why my hair swall up so bad now I no
I don't think i have any dcs without glycerin. I use mostly camille rose in the summer. I have the cocunut water leave in and aloe whipped butter gel in my hair now.
Hey Jasmine! Yeah glycerin free DCs are hard to find! Camille Rose is another good brand for glycerin free products! Thanks for sharing 💕

Glycerin can make your hair frizzy. That's why some people don't like it.
I heard glycerin can sometimes act like a sealant and if there's alot of it and too early in the process, it can keep out some of the other good things you want to layer after. Causing the rest of the product to sit on top of hair and cause build up.

How do you know if you are anti-glycerin (for lack of a better word 🤣)
For me, I knew bc it would make my hair very dry. Like when it was wet if would feel so silky and hydrated but as soon as it dried my hair felt brittle and like it needed to be remoisturized the day after wash day
mangomingooo thank you so much for sharing. I may be anti-glycerin as i have noticed that dryness and my products have glycerin in them

❤️❤️
Thanks for watching Deaisha!
I was under the impression that glycerin would only be a concern with styling products. Not products you're rinsing out
Typically it does really affect your hair if it is in rinse out products but I know some don’t like glycerin at all so I wanted to give them options for a full wash day. Thanks for watching!
