- Filmed on May 2, 2015: This is by far one of the LOUDEST hydraulic motor I had ever heard. Esp. for an Otis Series 4, this is rare 'cause nobody has ever ridden a regular Otis with this loud motor before. This elevator is connected between the Gateway Shopping Center & Memorial Hermann Parking Garage.

Now THIS is got to be the BEST sounding hydraulic moter that I've ever heard in my life! That thing sounds amazing!!
I just went there and filmed the service elevator! Still has the loud motor!
That is one MONSTER of a motor! This elevator roars when it goes up.
Amazing LOUD motor!
I L O V E T H E M O T O R ❤
Me too
EPIC LOUD MOTOR!!!
OH MY GOD!!! One time I went on a Schindler HT/330A Dry-Powered Hydraulic Elevator. It has an EPIC motor!!!
I literally just did at retake of the Schindler today lol.
There are 2 of these Otis Series 4 elevators in the library on my college campus, only difference is they’re smaller and have a red indicator the motor sound is quite similar. Still not my favorite elevators on campus, though certainly my favorite modern ones. Though everything from the 50s-80s have been modded on campus, in a former residence hall turned academic building, there is a 5 story Otis from the late 50s that was modded with Innovation fixtures. However, the motor is definitely original based on the startup sound and the subtle high pitched whine it makes when moving. It seems fast for 5 stories too.
that's not loud!, that is an epic motor!:)
elevatorfilmer2867 productions I agree. EPIC MOTOR

i don't know about you, but that has got to be the loudest elevator motor i have ever heard.

Is there a freight elevator here? By the way nice video.
Unfortunately not. I think this is the only elevator used as freight.
@@JimLiElevators thanks.
0:42 Sit back, close your eyes, and listen to this monstrosity of an epic motor.
Question: Where I can find this elevator to film this? (I mean, which floor I need to go and if I go left or right) Plus that motor is VERY LOUD!
It’s been so long since I’ve been back here, so I actually don’t remember anymore.
@@JimLiElevators Oh, but this mall is where you filmed the OTIS Series 7?
Yes, but Series 7 is not a proper term. I didn’t know that back then until late 2016. I think it’s a newer type of Otis Series 4.
@@JimLiElevators Oh okay.
UPDATE: Just today I went here and I was trying to find this and I didn't. Do you know where is this elevator located actually? Plus I want to start at the second floor.
This should be checked out by guiness worlds records.
Sounded like a warehouse motor!
whoa that is a loudest motor in my life
That is extremely loud!
0:42 This sounds like a 220/110/66kV transformer at a Transpower transmission substation
0:42 listen how loud the Elevator is.
That Motor sounds like a tornado siren
That. Is. Loud. By the way, what does dry powered mean? I know quite a few terms of the elevator industry, but that term has always stumped me.
Elevation Station Productions this one is actually submersible not dry powered. It is kinda hard to explain really what dry powered is but if the motor pitch is G or B flat it is submersible (this is B flat) but if it is any other pitch it is dry powered.
Dry-powered is driven by a belt outside of the oil reservoir, unlike a submersible pump unit, where the motor is inside of the oil reservoir.
I wish Gen 2 series 4s had that chime...the newer, higher chimes fit better with the egg lanterns tbh.
I agree
0:42 SO LOUD🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊
Never seen a Otis with a epic moter
Now that's an epic motor
That motor was a hippo I say because it’s super loud
That motor was AWESOME!!!!
That motor is loud!
Nice!
That motor is mad!! So cool
VERY EPIC MOTOR
I think that's a series 2. Series 2 commonly has the green display.
This is definitely Series 4. Series 2 has the small square indicator.
@@JimLiElevators Yeah, you're right.
That is submersible not dry powered, but anyways WHAT A MOTOR! :)
That time, I didn't know much about elevators.
JimLiElevators thats no problem, thought I would mention it.
When was this installed?
Probably 2009 or something.
This is a combo between a series 2 and 4
The Elevator World Actually, it’s just a Series 4.
EPIC AND LOUD MOTOR!
Isn't this Otis Series 4?
MyLocalElevator Yep! I fixed it.
+technicalboy “techgeek5000” 3000 Series 7 has in different cab style.
I thought there is no such thing as Series 7
0:42 that’s loud
ANOTHER EPIC HYDRO!!!
Yep
Dry Powered? It Sounds Submersible to me ;)
That's because it is
Nice
We have the same motor at CLSC Valleyfield quebec
