@@Qualitymobilevideo When using this amp with RCA and after market Headunit and the switch input is to low but exceeds ur desired voltage at max unclipped volume is it safe to switch it to high so u can start lower and hit ur desired voltage.? or will it damage the amp or the headunit since RCA are for the low level switch.?

I have this amp pushing a 15 inch kicker l7s at 2 ohm and wow is this little amp a beast!! I’m absolutely in love with this amp. It’s super small also. At 2 ohms it stays nice and cool also...I’m amazed! These new amps by kicker are definitely worth the $

@@mitchellgarcia4061 yes, I recommend you give their subs a try also. You can get a 12 from them I recommend an svr, not sdr and they are just amazing. I recently put one in my gfs car and it absolutely slaps. I switched from kicker to skar forever after giving them a try. Even sold my L715. Skar is gonna go up in price soon once people realize how good they are. Honestly better than sundown in my opinion. So yes, I highly recommend them. Especially their amps. Cheers

Just paired this with some kicker comp r12s in a ported . Slaps nice. I’d say it’s a pretty nice sweet spot before having to upgrade the alternator and such.

Kicker makes great proprietary stuff but pioneer 8601 can be found used for $80 and puts out over 800 watts at 1 ohm. Its a similar size as well

I have this exact amp hooked up to two 12in Kicker CompR’s (500rms each) in a pre fabricated box you can buy at your local flea market or car audio store and this little amp HITS. (The Kicker box didn’t fit in my car at all so had to buy one that fit).

@@nino714 too much juice for one 12" if they connected @ 1ohm that's 800 watts total...300 watts more than what u need. This amp at 4ohm it give u about 300 watts..still underpowered but should sound decent
The 12" Comp Rs can use more juice 500rms Yes...at 4ohm its getting 300rms. So a bigger amp could push these harder

@@johnpresha829 It doesn't say on the cert what the conditions were during testing. My CXA400.1 (rated for 400W @ 1ohm, 300W @ 2ohm and 150W @ 4ohm) said it made 486W certified. So I would say it's safe to say it the highest (RMS not peak because they claim 800W peak for this model) power at the lowest resistance it's rated to run, which in both cases is 1ohm.

I have this amplifier hooked up to only one 2 ohm Alpine 10” S-Series Subwoofer from the halo series in a Ford Ranger XLT , my question is how many watts should I actually set this amplifier up to push this subwoofer ?

Those Alpine can take up to 600rms...find urself amp that delivers 600rms or 500rms at 4ohms. So that Amp can push them good but if you max out the watts u risk blowing ur Woofer Homie
I just bought this with a amp with a Kicker preloaded L7S-12 sub/box. The sub is rated at 750RMS @ 2ohm. However, I didn't have anyway to make the CX800.1 push the full 800w seeing as the connection terminals are 2ohm connecters on the box. Any advice? Will is still slap with the CX800.1 pushing it at 600-650ish at 2ohm? Is it severely underpowered to the sub?
My cxa800.1 was pushing a kicker 12" sub with an rms of 500 and blew it (after a year). It should push your sub fine.
Yea it should...but the closer you get to max remember u risk overheating and wear and tear...eventually it will bust. ..but according to specs...this amp is 600rms at 2ohms so ur still feeding that Woofer Pretty good...check it with a voltmeter or something to see how many watts truly...remember these are underrated
And you guys please dyno amps that nobody is done before. You couls do a great service for this community. People that are really interested in the orion xtr 500.4, 750.4 and 1000.1 and would really like to see some concrete results

I got my 4ohm sub set up to 2ohm with this amp. My shit hitting hard, an I got 2 older ass CVRs. Only got one hooked up hitting to max. Once I get a bigger sub I’ll hook em both up.

Impedance is only or proper power loading, doesn't make a difference in sound quality other than power output.

The Amp is mono you would just run 1 set of wires out of the Amp into the box and wire your sub to a 1 ohm load and that will make the Amp work harder and it will get warmer I believe
I'm confused on why it has 4 speaker outputs, but is a mono output amp? which of the four do you use for a single sub?

You need at least 1500RMS bro. This amp in the video a push one only.
The amps output is set up like this + + - -.
I have a 1 ohm sub.
Do I just connect + to - to get the amp to amplify at 1 ohm or do I have to connect the first + to the last -. Or connect both +s to both -s.
Does this amp automatically play at the ohm of the sub or do I have to wire to the amp in a special way?

Maybe a stupid question but I’d rather not mess my subs up because I currently just have them hooked first + to first -. I have it hooked up to 2 p2 12s in a loaded enclosure
@@ftwtfml I know this answer is kinda late but hope it helps. It's a mono amp it just has extra terminals for convenience so you don't have to shove a bunch of wire to 1 terminal. Both positive terminals are the same and both negative terminals are the same. If that makes any sense
You can test the ohm load at the end of the wire leads with a multimeter if you are unsure.
When only running 1 sub at 1 ohm which speaker terminals do i use since their is 4? Or the amp is smart enough to dedicate which ever channel for 1 ohm load
far left + far right - for highest load to sub
If it’s single voice coil, just run the positive and negative accordingly, two outputs on the amp won’t be used. If it’s dual voice coil (I’m assuming dual 2ohm) run each voice coils terminals to the amp, it’ll parallel the voice coils for you. Don’t bridge, no need. You could also just parallel them in the box if there’s only a single terminal cup, and run it to the amp as if it’s a single voice coil. No need to bridge. Mono blocks aren’t designed for bridging like 4 channel+.

Can I run 2 alpine 12s in box with each speaker at 250rms and a max peak of 750w. Will I get more out of a higher amp?
I mean sure you can get more but pushing more power to a sub doesn't mean it can handle it either. As long as the amp is able to at least provide rms power you should be good to go. If you wanna push it to the limit you can get something that will do 1500w and just tone it back. If you are unsure just keep to rms figures.
Have this amp running at 1 ohm on 2 12 inch dual voice coil comp R kickers and they sound great.

Anyways aren't we suppose to match the ohms on the Woofer with the Ohms on the amp.
The Kicker Comp R 12" is a 4ohm. Shouldn't you need to connect it like a 4ohm?

Funny the hate for Kicker, I currently don't own any Kicker, but have before. Their amps are great, as well as their wiring kits. People want $250 2k watt amps, because the market is flooded with Skar, American Bass, Crescendo, the list goes on..If you want cheap shit, then go ahead and get yourself a Skar 2500 watt for $200. This little amp may cost more, but they're just better built amps.

So your amplifier went into protect mode. It's honestly impossible for me to tell you what's wrong without being there. You'll have to diagnose it by process of elimination to find the issue. Check all your connections. Check your ground. You could have bad speaker wire or the wire is shorted to chassis ground. If the amp only goes into protect when one particular speaker is connected to the amp, you have a defective speaker.

This amp blew my compR 12" with the ported box in 1 day. The sub was smoking out the port 🤣 so I slapped a 12" CVX in there and it thumps even at low volume and im scared to turn it up.
you are most likely clipping(distortion) which melts voicecoils.. the gain knob is not a volume knob its to match your amp to head unit. I've never blown a sub in my life even a 500 watt 10in sub on a 1200 watt underrated amp
@@rmblwgn you are absolutely right.. but the distortion came from from the speed compensation volume wich I didn't know my car had. I didn't even know that was a thing.. the car is a new to me 2018 accord exl and turns up the volume or some shit like that when the car is moving and I learned the hard way when I blew a 12" L7 q class. I've since done my homework and my sound system is top notch
@@heavypupper1219 good to hear I've never had a car new enough to have a factory head unit. Someday I may be stuck with one that won't come out. I've always replaced mine with aftermarket
@@rmblwgn can't replace my head unit, I didn't even add an amp to my mids n Highs cuz it would have been the biggest pain to bypass the factory amp and if I would have used an loc I would have last features my head unit had. But luckily replacing all 10 speakers and using the factory amp made a world of a difference. I ended also replacing the cxa800.1 with a cxa1200.1 and getting the skar 12" vfx. I've never had a sound system sound so good.

I did, and works and sounds nice and clean. Doesn’t get hit at all and is easily pushing my kicker L7s 15 inch at 2 ohm...good amp!! You will love it!!

I'm not sure of the driver size but I did type the model semi backwards it's an l7S 2 ohm speaker. 12 inch in a vented enclosure.

Question why does it say “1600w max” but only maxes out at 762w?
He ran a certified test. General use would be dynamic, which would give you more power, but if you were feeding the amp 18v, you might see 1600 for a couple seconds.

@@mitchellgarcia4061 you couple also do a Rockford Fosgate R2-1200 which would feed the L7 800 RMS @ 2ohm. The L7 is rated for 750RMS so that amp works too

Yes, and it will also provide turn on when high level input is used. This means it will automatically turn in with audio so you don’t have to find switched power for the amp.

Yea but I'll tell you right now, the average car/truck will not remain at 14.4-14.8 volts like Amp Dyno's.
even if it does 1800 at 13.5 it will pound the guts out of this kicker. get one and do side by side comparison...dyno drag race at 13.5 volts both amps

While I appreciate the effort, you guys have to beef up that electrical system. While you can claim "this reflects more real-world vehicle testing," it's not CEA2006 compliant. That's where the amp is rated. So you make it seem like the amp fell short of advertised. But if you had the 14.4V that CEA2006 demands manufacturers rate at, it would have made the advertised wattage.

The Alpine S-W12D4? So those are DVC 4 ohm woofers with a combine RMS of 1200 Watts. You'll want a monoblock with a power range of about 105-1400W RMS @ 1 ohm. Check these out:
