im still deciding if i should get this for my gigs. currently use my Motif ES 8. thing weighs like 80 pounds and is dinged up. since this uses mostly motif sounds and weighs 11 pounds sounds much appealing.
Hi Jay, Yes the MM6 comes in a 88 note, weighted key model…the MM8! This has the same exact features as the MM6, but has a graded hammer action, so it feels closer to a real piano. Thanks for watching! - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
Yes, the MM8 has tons of built-in sounds including pianos, organs, strings, horns, drums, and synth sounds. You'll find a good selection of sax and horn patches to use. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. Thanks for watching! -Dave McCullough, Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
Hi Wyatt, The MM keyboards don't have a true looper built in, but you could use the internal sequencer to layer and repeat parts. Nice piano playing on your channel, by the way. Thanks for watching! - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
Nice Video Man! I bought MM6 i came with Cubase. I also have FL, Three things: 1) I want to record the keyboard on Cubase which Interface/Hardware should I get? 2) Should I go for MIDI Controller as Interface/Hardware or MM6 itself is MIDI Controller(I mean does MM6 works as MIDI Controller 3) I play in church, Can I play sounds in FL on my MM6 for that which Interface/Hardware
Hello Aleks, Yes, what you're describing is perfectly normal. When scrolling through performances, you'll find that some of these performances incorporate different splits, layers of sounds, and appregiators. If you're scrolling through individual sounds or "voices" the arppegiators typically won't turn engage unless you choose to do so. Thanks for watching! - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
MM6 is going to have more sounds to choose from, and those sounds are from the original Motif workstation keyboard. The DGX640 has 88 full-size weighted keys and on-board speakers. So, I guess it depends on what you're looking for in a keyboard. I'd probably go with the MM6 for music production and live performance. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
Yes, you will need to connect the MM8 to a PA system or keyboard amp. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
@anstonian Point taken. In Tony's defense, this is more of a workstation keyboard...as opposed to a dedicated synth. The goal was to show a wide variety of sounds, not just one genre. Thanks for your input. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
Hi, The MOX8 is the newer instrument…it replaced the MO8 a few years ago. The MM series workstation uses the sound engine of the original Motif, whereas the MOX8 uses the newer Motif XS sound set. Thanks for watching! - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
Could you please help me out I lost the vst instrument cd not the cubase but the other cd. Could you please tell me the names of the software instruments or where I can buy them please? Thanks
hello master, I hope to answer me, I just bought a mm6, but I find more support for ingresarles sounds and styles, you can help me please, I'm from chile, best regards!
Looking for an inexpensive keyboard to emulate a B3 and Leslie rotary. Not sure the MM6 or 8 can handle that. Does the MM6 allow stereo (two amps) and have a rotary emulation?
Hello there, I am soon going to purchase the MM8 but I was curious to know what piece that was you played at 0:48 . I seem to hear that a lot but I am not sure what its called , if you could tell me.. It sounds lovely for opening church service. Thank you
hello... can you help me choose between yamaha MM6 and roland juno di.... along with the specifications which maks one of them the better.... thanx a reply wud be appreciated...
Hey Tony. Great video. Question. I want to buy the MM6. Does it have a 1 finger chord button so that you can play chords on the left side with one finger?
@MrStratocaster1949 Absolutely. You can use the MM6/MM8 as a midi controller for any music production software. Thanks for watching! - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
The MM8 is an amazing keyboard, but do you know of any keyboards that are similar for a lower price? I'm looking for good quality, 88-key, preferably weighted, and with some different tones/sounds.
The question that im about to ask is VERY IMPORTANT TO ME please respond. Is the yamaha MM6 better than the yamaha DGX-640 i dont know which one to buy please help me!
Can someone help how to store tracks recorded on a DAW directly on USB without affecting the actual sound as recorded during the process.yes am talking about midi VST tracks directly on SMF format on USB without affecting the sounds .hope u got my point.
hey there, nice keyboard but as a rock n roll guy i wanted to know if MM6 is good for live performances or i should look for some other yamaha keyboards. Thanx
Motif maybe, mm6 is very lightweight and has a plastic shell I don't think it would stand up to much on live gigs, although an excellent home machine for the price tag.
You'll need to take the USB output of the MM6 and connect to the computer. You'll also need to take audio inputs of the MM6 and connect to audio inputs on your soundcard or interface. That way you can record the audio coming out of the MM6. Thanks for watching! - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
Hi, The MM8 uses Yamaha's Graded Hammer Standard action. This simulates the feel of a real acoustic piano. The MM6 uses the lighter synth-style action. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
Thanks for replying! ahah yeah I spent a litte bit of time in thinking how to setup pretty well my personal home studio with my mac and it's pretty good stuff jammed together! Btw is pretty expensive though :)

I'd recommend a Yamaha MSR250 powered speaker for live use, or Yamaha HS50M monitors for home use. I also like Mackie powered loudspeakers like the TH12A and TH15A. Thanks for watching! - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
Individual sounds typically won't engage the arpeggiator…however, guitar sounds would be an exception to that. When you call up a guitar sound, the MM will select an appropriate arp to simulate the strumming pattern of a guitar. This is perfectly normal, but if you don't want it you can always turn the arp off and save the sound as a preset. Thanks! - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
@9322002898 MM6, man. MM6 has better keys and the leads are great! The yamaha's pianos are better than juno di piano. But it deppends your way to play. But if were you, I would get MM6 without thinking twice. Soyy for the bad english, I'm a brazillian musician (for 12 years). I hope i helped you in something.
Here we go again. I thought this was a Synth not a piano. You play well, but what we want to hear, is the 'SYNTH' sounds, a few seconds each. So all I get from this video is, I can play piano, guitar and organ. Not intrested. Thank you. I'll save my money thanks.
I have waited my whole for a keyboard with features such as the m8.....love it with a passion

I have a question, Can you use the Motif Rack ES on this Piano?
Will this keyboard work with the Apogee Duet 2 and Yamaha M80S Monitors? :)
@TylerRobinson7 No it's weighted
Can you layer sounds like the old models?
I almost got this synth whin it came out but got a guno gi instead.
It would be nice to have such a machine
Does the MM8 need an amp?
Is it possible to loop with the MM6 and MM8?
@quangluu96 Yes you can. The MM series has great drum kits...
And na u won't break it.
Everytime I click in your mm6 link it redirects me to the mm8
