Yep, I don't understand why you'd listen to such a minor problem regarding spoilers when any sensible player knows how to avoid them. Plus there must be players like me who usually skip most of the story or event quests on release since I don't have time everyday to read the story bits and you have limited time rewards tied but later go through vods to see someone else's playthrough rather than using the in game replay feature.
What do you expect from a company that keeps a strict 2 year game update gap between global and JP when most modern live service games try to either eliminate completely with a global release schedule or keep the gap as small as possible.
@@Chaosloki Normally I'd agree but with FGO the 2-year gap is impossible to close and make into a global server for NA and JP. There are way too many events and banners that they'd have to jam together for the average casual player to try and play. There'd be way too much chaos for people to try and keep up even if they released everything back-to-back immediately. As of right now there are over 100+ campaigns/events/banners total within that 2-year gap. Plus, it really is useful at the least that NA players can actually plan ahead whereas JP gets shafted with unpredictability lol. - But regarding the guideline stuff for spoilers, that stuff is stupid.
Wow FGO is lagging behind newer gachas you'd think they want the overall fandom to be as active as possible and keep talking about FGO but they decide to gatekeep NA out and kill engagement among players and content creators about newer contents. Banning the story is fine and understandable but banning the gameplay and boss fight is dumb. That is like 90% of the content that can be made with out actually spoiled much of the content while creating hype for the game.

I've always thought FGO is too half-hearted and inconsistent about guarding about spoilers, often doing basically noting or being too restrictive, but this is a step further into unreasonble. Gatekeeping 4+ year-old content? Whoever made this call is so out of touch with reality. It seems clear to me they're just imposing an arbitrary ban to get the fans complaining to shut up and stop making a fuss.
Knowing this community, all Lasagna has to do is give some free SQ and everything will be forgiven. But seriously, after the fiasco that was the Ivan Raid, it became quite obvious that they DON'T GIVE A SH*T about the NA Server and this is just more proof of that since with FGO barely being advertised outside Japan the global version DEPENDS on content creators to stay relevant.

If your friend who got hit is trying to appeal to the JP base, that is probably why he got hit. Another big reason for which JP is more profitable, other than being the OG server, is that it's in the Japanese culture to spend some money monthly on collectibles and gacha. It generates an income comparable to a subscription model with spikes of sudden micro-transactions when the new shiny thing drops.
To be fair, this game should've died a long time ago. Aside from the story (for those who enjoy), nothing it presents brings anything decent to the table.

I really never minded the story spoilers since they're just scenes out of context. Even with major spoilers like Oberon and Cernnunos, it only works when you have the full context. This guidelines simply doesn't make sense.
Oberon is a spoiler, though. But I think that is the only one, because even without context it ruins the reveal if you saw that before playing it. The rest I would not consider spoilers at all.
@@orga7777I’d say I was very thoroughly spoiled about Oberon and a few lb6 story beats and I still enjoyed how things played out. I think I ended up liking Oberon even more than if I had gone in without knowledge. I think, ironically, partially knowing the story made me enjoy characters like Barghest and Morgan less. And I was absolutely smitten with Barghest’s art (giant woman, giant muscles, giant tits, hell yeah). Morgan I’m mostly just uninterested in her other than her QP gifts.

Even ignoring the Albion mud on her pretty much naked body (she looks too young for me), her face paint is wholly unappealing and her weapons and wings make her sprite (and 3rd art) cluttered without harmony. Barghest, you burnt alive innocent fairies and enslaved the “humans” as your “dogs” then we just pretend that you’re an innocent and just knight?? Huh?? I know that she was cursed with a ceaseless hunger and I don’t blame her for falling to temptation and losing what remained of her sanity when she remembered her greatest sin but like? We go to her house and act all cuddly and domestic after we recently watched her burn down the Autumn Forest and its inhabitants. What happened with the story there? And Morgan has Firefly (Honkai Star Rail) Syndrome in that she become’s our wife (while not knowing what it actually means iirc) and you don’t really have a say in it. She lacks the charm of the Tamamos and (even though I dislike her) Kiyohime so it feels forced. Adding to my gripes with Morgan, I understand her hatred of the Lostbelt’s fae. An abnormally large population of the fae (of the ones we meet) are either beyond redemption or are lacking in impulse control. She encourages Baobahn Sith(BBS) to emulate the behavior she hates because it’ll keep BBS alive longer… supposedly. Morgan doesn’t teach her daughter how to survive past “be mean, do some magic tricks” and is surprised when it backfires. I actually think she wasted BBS’s potential as both an heir as well as accidentally sabotaged her. edit: Pretty sure it’s intentional to some extent. Morgan’s main thing seems to be that, despite her overwhelming strength, she fails at her most important moments. At least during LB6, otherwise she just wins after she enters Chaldea. I also largely disagree with Morgan’s sentiment that a country only amounts to the land within it’s borders. What’s the point of running/ruling a country if nobody (or at least nobody you want living) is there for you to govern? Baobahn Sith? I actually really like her. She’s a really good mirror and rival for Caster. I actually kinda wish we had interpersonal character dialogues in the My Room alongside the “About (Character Name)” voice lines because I’d be interested to see Caster and BBS’s rivalry/friendship. I love her casual catty bitch behavior. She’s peak girl failure and I love her. (I’m not crazy about BBS’s summer version though. Cute design but, huh? It doesn’t make sense to me…)
I do feel for the situation you are left to delicately walk around. It's a tough spot. To a degree I get why they'd do something like this. Some people are absurdly fast to drop spoilers of the latest stuff and it's easy for that stuff to end up in front of you (be it youtube or social media). And goodness knows I remember being annoyed as heck about LB6 spoilers being thrown around right before LB6 (and specific parts) unlocked. But this is a pretty extreme stance. And it makes things really tough for those making videos. Sadly I agree that there isn't likely to be any effective backlash or pushback on this. If the JP side is cool with it then...that's all that will matter to the people at the top.

Gachas don't generally do this. But bigger console games, especially Japanese ones, do it all the time. Embargos are pretty normal. The issue here is more how strict it is.

Ultimately what this is at the end of the day is a cultural difference in what are called "moral rights" over, particularly, *how* information disseminates about a work, which in Japan you typically have a lot more legal control over. Basically, there's a lot of legal protection over how an IP/trademark holder in Japan gets to have their work/service perceived and/or presented. Of course, living in a country which has that as the law of the land naturally influences a lot of people living there into seeing these Americans disrespecting those moral rights and finding it incomprehensible that we do so. In America, the freedom of information itself (and how we protect that freedom) generally trumps those moral rights from existing, and so the average American aware of this whole debacle is going to think these guidelines are ridiculous. It's just a matter of what you grew up with. "How can you not respect the wishes of the creator of the work??? They're the ones who made it!" VS. "Why should a company have ANY right to tell me what to do? Once the work is published, it's out there for all to see!" Frankly, the argument we should be making is "If Lesengle wants to publish its game in America, it should respect how Americans treat information." That might not help for the Ordeal Call stuff, but maybe for the stuff that's out in NA it will.

The problem is that they thought setting a guideline, the viewers who only watch creator contents were going to play the game by themselves which increase the active players. That may roll the gacha and bring them money. Or maybe they are planning to let some famous Vtuber to do somemore FGO Story Stream like the one Pekora did in Part 1. In addition, Kinoko said in the interview(I forget which year with Famitsu), he wants the players enjoy the experience by themselves. However, I don't think this guideline thing is going to bring them any merits. This thing came out on the 9th anniversary along with the append skill 4,5. A lot of JP FGO streamer talked about how bad it is and unfortunate that not able to upload any latest contents.(Even farming latest free quest is forbidden) They even sent mail to ask if it is necessary to delete the past video that contain content pass LB3(That's the restriction when it come out). They replied it is okay to keep the old video and that's all. The JP FGO streamers accepted the guideline for a while, therefore some of them are so angry about the overseas creator can do whatever they want. Spoilers are always a problem, but JP players ought to say it is your fault of looking up TH-cam or Twitter(X) before the guideline came out. The self-responsibility stuff Japanese people always talk about. But now they have the justified reason to smack the one who unpleased them. Alright here's my fucking question then. Why the FUCK are JP players going over to NA TH-camR CHANNELS IN THE FIRST PLACE? We're 2 years behind them as is, and they've gotten a chance to see the content we have yet to see "technically". They have literally no reason to even be around the NA scene unless they're looking through older content which the JP fanbase/ youtube scene hasn't provided???? FGO is literally bigger in the JP scene than it will EVER be in NA and they have more people doing channels for it, HELL THEY HAVE PEKORA WHO'S A VTUBER DOING IT. SHE EVEN HAS AN OFFICIAL FIGURE OF HER IN MASH'S GALAHAD OUTFIT. What can the NA scene even PROVIDE to JP that hasn't already been given? Sometimes I get videos from JP from your everyday TH-camr to the official JP FGO channel . I don't think they are the kind that actively looked for creators like Plushie, xNaya or maybe Myst. I would guess that these videos just somewhat popped into their feed and are outraged by it.
@ChaldeaWarmaster I never genuinely care for VTuber stuff tbh. It just isn't my thing, not knocking others for enjoying it. But I genuinely don't get the appeal. I prefer older style of youtube commentary like they were from the early 2010's. SSoHPKC is one of the only few youtubers I've ever went back to aside from Myst and Plushie that I ACTIVELY watch. He's from an old youtube group called "The Creatures".
NA is literally the privileged server. Always second to get Qol improvements, unique banners, best compensation if they screw up. And you are complaining about Pekora? Entities that own IP can always do what they want with it, even if people using it have gotten comfortable and may be blindsided when that entity actually enforces its ownership. That's all to say I agree that you should definitely diversify what you do. It's the same with an office job, one should be able to take on different types of work in case there main one is no longer needed.

While I love your content, these guidelines seem to be made to practically crucify anyone who dares to make content about their game due to their CEO who was infamous for ruining Street Fighter 5. The TH-cam algorithm is bad enough that English content ends up in their feed. However, if they really don't want to be spoiled, they can easily unsubscribe to their JP FGO tubers and watch something else entirely so the algorithm will think you no longer want to watch it. It's rather simple and it baffles me in nearly a decade old game... they seem to lack the mental capacity to do that if they're so desperate, yet never said a peep years ago in such way and only do so now because of some guidelines. If they wanna go out of their way to ruin it to everyone, well, guess they can keep the xenophobia as well too.

As a member of a nore niche side of the community, being the Roleplay and Fanfic Community, having story translations restricted actually hits hard and prevents us from keeping up to date on the lore to know whats happening, to know what can happen, whats been re-explained or retconned for all our own stories and characters and balancing, etc. etc. Especially since not all of us can just read japanese nor do us Type-Moon fans even have wikis and websites that stay up to date, dont shove in headcanon, and just leave portions describing what a character has done in specific stories despite full official or reliable fan translation existing.
I'm worried because the JP FGOtubers I'm following are my sources of the story (even if I don't understand what they're saying) and demos of new characters.

You go in, you spend in-game currency and gamble with the rates, simple and straightforward. Nothing else to entice you to spend beyond the characters and/or their gameplay, no passes, paywalls or paid cosmetics. Meanwhile other games will plaster you with so many ads that usually entails "buy X to improve your gameplay experience", which is more blatantly scummy because FGO's rates "are bad" but they're not sugarcoating it in the first place. Hell, it's one of the very few games that bother making lower rarity characters useful or have a niche that lets them play their intended style, most gachas have units that age so quickly that their relevancy usually only lasts two to three weeks of their debut before they're powercrept and rendered irrelevant.

Pity does exist, gacha rates are still hell, even Azur Lane despite being beyond the cream of the crop still does not have the good gacha rates for your desired Shipgirl. Hell AL's market changed from WWII geeks to "L2D cashcows" and that worked wonders for them. Its more of the fact that they do not understand what their market focus should be: is it the skins, the new characters they can produce, the plot?, or find something pointless to spend on? Because they are trying to tap on a market that another gacha game already perfected or pioneered and do not understand how they did it. Like E7's equipment and QOL improvements that was a part of the puzzle of why they succeeded and FGO still fumbled there. BA also has another benefit of using a mechanic similar to Servant coins to unlock specific Character only upgrades but BA made it a lot more accessible for F2P grindable characters like Yuuka and Hoshino and FGO's servant coin doesn't even fully understand that in the slightest.

This type of behavior is insane and very common sadly from music corporation and corporations in general base in JP, the fact that Sony owns Lasangle is even more scary since they are know to go scorch earth when they use the copyright system. Sometimes they will just issue a warning but they could very well use the strikes even multiple at the same time, also I don't trust the way they say it will not apply to older videos, if they changed their minds once they can change it many times in the future.
FGO has a strict restriction about story spoiling. However, Sony Music Entertainment or LSG didn't check your videos manually. If they didn't see your videos, they didn't do a copyright strike (not a copyright claim, remember this). Actually, they saw and they knew your videos but they didn't care. Obviously check with lawyers before doing anything, but if you’re in the US Sony can’t enforce these rules without suing you, which they won’t do cause it risks setting a precedent they don’t want on their hands. European countries and Canada should have similar rules, check your local laws to be sure. Now whether you actually WANT your play chicken with your channel like that? Different story entirely. the problem is TH-cam, you get 3 copywright strikes your channel is gone. it is the 3 strike system. and offcourse you can appeal. but that takes a long time. Sony doesn't even go to court, cause you have to fight google first. that is why it is such a hassle. and bad actors and companies exploit that system a lot.

Probably best to expand your content to other things, like other games, just in case Sony goes full on Dumbnium on strikes. At the very least you can still keep things running if things go sideways on the FGO content. Honestly they're just shooting their own foot at this point, shooting down your own exposure on platforms such as this is a surefire way to drain the interest of this game.

As for the weird registration of old chapters I think is more for NA, since right now we are doing the road to seven campaign, after all is no secret and even Albert had been very vocal that they hate that na has that 2 years of insight in for future content. Yep, I don't understand why you'd listen to such a minor problem regarding spoilers when any sensible player knows how to avoid them. Plus there must be players like me who usually skip most of the story or event quests on release since I don't have time everyday to read the story bits and you have limited time rewards tied but later go through vods to see someone else's playthrough rather than using the in game replay feature.
What do you expect from a company that keeps a strict 2 year game update gap between global and JP when most modern live service games try to either eliminate completely with a global release schedule or keep the gap as small as possible.
@@Chaosloki Normally I'd agree but with FGO the 2-year gap is impossible to close and make into a global server for NA and JP. There are way too many events and banners that they'd have to jam together for the average casual player to try and play. There'd be way too much chaos for people to try and keep up even if they released everything back-to-back immediately. As of right now there are over 100+ campaigns/events/banners total within that 2-year gap. Plus, it really is useful at the least that NA players can actually plan ahead whereas JP gets shafted with unpredictability lol.

I've always thought FGO is too half-hearted and inconsistent about guarding about spoilers, often doing basically noting or being too restrictive, but this is a step further into unreasonble. Another big reason for which JP is more profitable, other than being the OG server, is that it's in the Japanese culture to spend some money monthly on collectibles and gacha. It generates an income comparable to a subscription model with spikes of sudden micro-transactions when the new shiny thing drops.
This is so disappointing. I was always hoping FGO could evolve like Star Rail, but now they're evolving backwards.

I really never minded the story spoilers since they're just scenes out of context. Even with major spoilers like Oberon and Cernnunos, it only works when you have the full context. This guidelines simply doesn't make sense.
Oberon is a spoiler, though. But I think that is the only one, because even without context it ruins the reveal if you saw that before playing it. The rest I would not consider spoilers at all.

I think I ended up liking Oberon even more than if I had gone in without knowledge. I think, ironically, partially knowing the story made me enjoy characters like Barghest and Morgan less. And I was absolutely smitten with Barghest’s art (giant woman, giant muscles, giant tits, hell yeah). Morgan I’m mostly just uninterested in her other than her QP gifts.

Melu wtf is that 3rd/4th ascension? I don’t want to see it but have to because of gameplay reasons. I thought her story with Aurora and Percival were fantastic but genuinely “ugh” at those ascensions. She’s just wayy too overdesigned. Even ignoring the Albion mud on her pretty much naked body (she looks too young for me), her face paint is wholly unappealing and her weapons and wings make her sprite (and 3rd art) cluttered without harmony.
Barghest, you burnt alive innocent fairies and enslaved the “humans” as your “dogs” then we just pretend that you’re an innocent and just knight?? Huh?? I know that she was cursed with a ceaseless hunger and I don’t blame her for falling to temptation and losing what remained of her sanity when she remembered her greatest sin but like? We go to her house and act all cuddly and domestic after we recently watched her burn down the Autumn Forest and its inhabitants. What happened with the story there?
And Morgan has Firefly (Honkai Star Rail) Syndrome in that she become’s our wife (while not knowing what it actually means iirc) and you don’t really have a say in it. She lacks the charm of the Tamamos and (even though I dislike her) Kiyohime so it feels forced.
Adding to my gripes with Morgan, I understand her hatred of the Lostbelt’s fae. An abnormally large population of the fae (of the ones we meet) are either beyond redemption or are lacking in impulse control. She encourages Baobahn Sith(BBS) to emulate the behavior she hates because it’ll keep BBS alive longer… supposedly. Morgan doesn’t teach her daughter how to survive past “be mean, do some magic tricks” and is surprised when it backfires. I actually think she wasted BBS’s potential as both an heir as well as accidentally sabotaged her. edit: Pretty sure it’s intentional to some extent. Morgan’s main thing seems to be that, despite her overwhelming strength, she fails at her most important moments. At least during LB6, otherwise she just wins after she enters Chaldea.
I also largely disagree with Morgan’s sentiment that a country only amounts to the land within it’s borders. What’s the point of running/ruling a country if nobody (or at least nobody you want living) is there for you to govern?
Baobahn Sith? I actually really like her. She’s a really good mirror and rival for Caster. I actually kinda wish we had interpersonal character dialogues in the My Room alongside the “About (Character Name)” voice lines because I’d be interested to see Caster and BBS’s rivalry/friendship. I love her casual catty bitch behavior. She’s peak girl failure and I love her. (I’m not crazy about BBS’s summer version though. Cute design but, huh? It doesn’t make sense to me…)

It's a tough spot. To a degree I get why they'd do something like this. Some people are absurdly fast to drop spoilers of the latest stuff and it's easy for that stuff to end up in front of you (be it youtube or social media). And goodness knows I remember being annoyed as heck about LB6 spoilers being thrown around right before LB6 (and specific parts) unlocked. But this is a pretty extreme stance. And it makes things really tough for those making videos.
Sadly I agree that there isn't likely to be any effective backlash or pushback on this. If the JP side is cool with it then...that's all that will matter to the people at the top.

Ultimately what this is at the end of the day is a cultural difference in what are called "moral rights" over, particularly, *how* information disseminates about a work, which in Japan you typically have a lot more legal control over. Basically, there's a lot of legal protection over how an IP/trademark holder in Japan gets to have their work/service perceived and/or presented. Of course, living in a country which has that as the law of the land naturally influences a lot of people living there into seeing these Americans disrespecting those moral rights and finding it incomprehensible that we do so. In America, the freedom of information itself (and how we protect that freedom) generally trumps those moral rights from existing, and so the average American aware of this whole debacle is going to think these guidelines are ridiculous. It's just a matter of what you grew up with.

Frankly, the argument we should be making is "If Lesengle wants to publish its game in America, it should respect how Americans treat information." That might not help for the Ordeal Call stuff, but maybe for the stuff that's out in NA it will.

The problem is that they thought setting a guideline, the viewers who only watch creator contents were going to play the game by themselves which increase the active players. That may roll the gacha and bring them money. Or maybe they are planning to let some famous Vtuber to do somemore FGO Story Stream like the one Pekora did in Part 1.
In addition, Kinoko said in the interview(I forget which year with Famitsu), he wants the players enjoy the experience by themselves.
However, I don't think this guideline thing is going to bring them any merits. This thing came out on the 9th anniversary along with the append skill 4,5. A lot of JP FGO streamer talked about how bad it is and unfortunate that not able to upload any latest contents.(Even farming latest free quest is forbidden) They even sent mail to ask if it is necessary to delete the past video that contain content pass LB3(That's the restriction when it come out). They replied it is okay to keep the old video and that's all.
The JP FGO streamers accepted the guideline for a while, therefore some of them are so angry about the overseas creator can do whatever they want. Spoilers are always a problem, but JP players ought to say it is your fault of looking up TH-cam or Twitter(X) before the guideline came out. The self-responsibility stuff Japanese people always talk about. But now they have the justified reason to smack the one who unpleased them.
I just want to talk about the JP player are also displeased at the first place, but the anger move from Anipex to you guys which is unforune. Rule is absolute to them.

They already do the bare fucking minimum, attempting to throwing Kanou Yoshiki (2- San) under the bus (who by the way fought 2 years straight to let us get a 5 star ticket) with the Coin System, they barely put out strengthen quests for servants who desperately need them the most, don't do any meaningful changes, don't give us animation updates aside from the 2 Jeanne's and Kiara which we got recently. Kiara didn't EVEN NEED IT in comparison to other servants who are still shooting god damn caster balls to this day. Geronimo and Jekyll Hyde (as much as I hate to say it) are still objectively the worst servants in the game next to Phantom.
If I was a JP player, I'd be trying to start a god damn revolution against all of this bull shittery and forcing Sony/ Aniplex who have grown to complacent with their money printer to make major improvement. I legitimately think that FGO started going down hill since the 7th anniversary. At least when it comes to meaningful updates main story chapters aside.
But apparently, and please correct me if I'm wrong on this, as I could be very incorrect. Its ok to respect corporations more and considering that if you say anything negative about them, it can end up having you be stuck in a defamatory lawsuit which they'll more than likely win as it is culturally acceptable to consider "guilty until proven innocent" and that "whoever is suing you, they're more than likely in the right" to do so anyway. I've even heard of horror stories of people saying awful things about the companies on the internet over in JP and them getting sued for it as a result.

But it just angers me so much that FGO, a game I hold in such high regards is being treated like this because its ok to not care about their audiences apparently. Its what keeps me motivated to keep playing FGO despite games like Nikke who have just as compelling story telling and if not better gameplay/ gatcha to keep sticking around.
The complacency and stagnation makes it feel like FGO is going to be pruned on its own like a Lostbelt at some point because of how its being treated. The only thing keeping it up is the high level of story telling and the IP name. Thats it. This game would have died off like other gatcha games at this point if it weren't for that. Its a game I've grown with since the first anniversary on the NA side. Its helped me through so much mental depression, and has legitimately saved my life as sappy as it sounds. The story of the lostbelts... the story of humanity, how despite all its short comings and flaws can still find ways to make up for it. And improve, to press forward.

Sometimes I get videos from JP from your everyday TH-camr to the official JP FGO channel . I don't think they are the kind that actively looked for creators like Plushie, xNaya or maybe Myst. I would guess that these videos just somewhat popped into their feed and are outraged by it.

I'm NA exclusive, but... I'm also a really small and newer channel who compares FGO characters to their originals. If this starts to come after me? It could ruin my entire channel. I have been preparing to branch out a bit to try some new things, but... perhaps I should speed that up just in case these rules come to NA as well. Entities that own IP can always do what they want with it, even if people using it have gotten comfortable and may be blindsided when that entity actually enforces its ownership.

The TH-cam algorithm is bad enough that English content ends up in their feed. However, if they really don't want to be spoiled, they can easily unsubscribe to their JP FGO tubers and watch something else entirely so the algorithm will think you no longer want to watch it. It's rather simple and it baffles me in nearly a decade old game... they seem to lack the mental capacity to do that if they're so desperate, yet never said a peep years ago in such way and only do so now because of some guidelines.
If they wanna go out of their way to ruin it to everyone, well, guess they can keep the xenophobia as well too.

As a member of a nore niche side of the community, being the Roleplay and Fanfic Community, having story translations restricted actually hits hard and prevents us from keeping up to date on the lore to know whats happening, to know what can happen, whats been re-explained or retconned for all our own stories and characters and balancing, etc. etc.
Especially since not all of us can just read japanese nor do us Type-Moon fans even have wikis and websites that stay up to date, dont shove in headcanon, and just leave portions describing what a character has done in specific stories despite full official or reliable fan translation existing.
I'm worried because the JP FGOtubers I'm following are my sources of the story (even if I don't understand what they're saying) and demos of new characters.

Hell, it's one of the very few games that bother making lower rarity characters useful or have a niche that lets them play their intended style, most gachas have units that age so quickly that their relevancy usually only lasts two to three weeks of their debut before they're powercrept and rendered irrelevant.

You missed the point with Gacha games and mechanics, because the only "modern" mechanic was to have a separate server. Pity does exist, gacha rates are still hell, even Azur Lane despite being beyond the cream of the crop still does not have the good gacha rates for your desired Shipgirl. Hell AL's market changed from WWII geeks to "L2D cashcows" and that worked wonders for them. Its more of the fact that they do not understand what their market focus should be: is it the skins, the new characters they can produce, the plot?, or find something pointless to spend on? Because they are trying to tap on a market that another gacha game already perfected or pioneered and do not understand how they did it. Like E7's equipment and QOL improvements that was a part of the puzzle of why they succeeded and FGO still fumbled there.
BA also has another benefit of using a mechanic similar to Servant coins to unlock specific Character only upgrades but BA made it a lot more accessible for F2P grindable characters like Yuuka and Hoshino and FGO's servant coin doesn't even fully understand that in the slightest.

This type of behavior is insane and very common sadly from music corporation and corporations in general base in JP, the fact that Sony owns Lasangle is even more scary since they are know to go scorch earth when they use the copyright system. Sometimes they will just issue a warning but they could very well use the strikes even multiple at the same time, also I don't trust the way they say it will not apply to older videos, if they changed their minds once they can change it many times in the future.
FGO has a strict restriction about story spoiling. However, Sony Music Entertainment or LSG didn't check your videos manually. If they didn't see your videos, they didn't do a copyright strike (not a copyright claim, remember this). Actually, they saw and they knew your videos but they didn't care. It is the fact that someone reported your videos to Sony Music. JP streamers can not make videos story after Lostbelt 4. It is not fair, right? So, just maybe, they reported
You are indeed correct, There were claims here n there back in the day like with Kita's stream ages ago but they never actually struck a channel before it's after JP players and JP content creators started to report to Aniplex and Sony they had to react since as sad as it is JP players are the most profitable.

This has been consistently the theme with JP games company. Like just look at Blue Protocol, the fabled MMORPG that in all honestly looked really good. It was hyped to near death and now it's on its way to EoS. And one of the big reasons why is because it's region locked.
Meanwhile Genshin and Wuthering are thriving because they don't put stupid region lock on their games.

It could even render a company go in the red (Disgaea RPG nearly got NIS to declare bankruptcy because of how bad the launch was and how there's barely any income on its global version, which forced its shutdown while the JP one is still ongoing).

I really hope the situation can get better or at least turn back to where we were before this rule was even made, playing JP alone and not seeing any videos made about everything new and exciting to see, is just not right for me. If its down to the JP players complaining then I will be pissed. they got pissy when NA had the chaldea breakroom stuff and they didn't, meaning DW (at the time) had to start making that too. Then because the JP players have bitched so much the devs have started making NA exclusive stuff, like banners and such. The JP players are the most petulant players I have seen, throwing tantrums constantly because they don't get their own ways.

Japan’s draconian Fair Use rules strike again. Obviously check with lawyers before doing anything, but if you’re in the US Sony can’t enforce these rules without suing you, which they won’t do cause it risks setting a precedent they don’t want on their hands. Granted, that means possibly giving Sony your dox in a DMCA counter-claim, but you can keep your videos up if you’re willing to do that. European countries and Canada should have similar rules, check your local laws to be sure.

the problem is TH-cam, you get 3 copywright strikes your channel is gone. it is the 3 strike system. and offcourse you can appeal. but that takes a long time.
Sony doesn't even go to court, cause you have to fight google first. that is why it is such a hassle. and bad actors and companies exploit that system a lot.

Probably best to expand your content to other things, like other games, just in case Sony goes full on Dumbnium on strikes.
At the very least you can still keep things running if things go sideways on the FGO content.

You don't know how much your skill leveled up unless you check the wiki, you don't know the chance of IP to proc, you don't even know what a new servant does unless you or someone else pulls them. The wiki and the guides people make are a necessity, they are the core of experiencing the game because the game itself doesn't do it and you wouldn't want to be more miserable than you already are.

Wouldn't that knowledge, that you farmed for a specific character to lv 10 their skill and that choice helps you deal with a boss better than if you chose another skill, be exactly why people look for these numbers? We are not asking for much, just standard practice... because the alternative is to tab out and search the wiki every single time you need to know if that 72 proof of hero material is actually going to help that skill or not. Redundant stuff shouldn't be in a multibillion dollar game and you shouldn't defend them like this.

all of this happening a week after i downloaded FGO NA(i had already been spoiled on everything up to LB6, i only joined for the experience).. seems like i hopped on the train at the best(worst) possible time LMAO
This is just insane, the proper way would be that you are not allowed to show anything of the current event or chapter until 48 to 72 hours have passed.
As for the weird registration of old chapters I think is more for NA, since right now we are doing the road to seven campaign, after all is no secret and even Albert had been very vocal that they hate that na has that 2 years of insight in for future content.
Hopefully they don't add new things in the future.
