    Kingsley North is a lapidary store in Michigan's U.P. They make a great cab machine and sell many other brands too. They have a huge selection rough rock, tumblers, grit, jewelry supplies etc. at good prices. I buy most of my coarse grit from here in 45 lb. bags. It's the best price I have found. If you buy using the following link, I make a small commission.

    I buy a lot of lapidary supplies from The Rock Shed. I don't make money from your purchases there, but they have good prices and good service. This is where I buy my finer grits and polish.

      I was in a small private campground that wasn't nearly as pretty, but it rained most of the time that I was there, so it didn't really matter. I stayed in Forsyth, which is where Kate recommended to be in a good location to go to the various spots she took me. This spot was like a three hour drive from where I was staying though. Everything else was much closer to Forsyth.

    Such beautiful country. I love the remoteness. (Not quite sure how you resisted the temptation to climb to the very top of that hill for the 360 view.) And that slidie hill looked like fun! Thanks for taking us along on the adventure. ~ The agates at the beginning of the video with the very faint banding - did you look at what you slabbed under ultraviolet light? Agate Dad had bands show up in fossils that way when, they weren't visible with the naked eye.

    • @MichiganRocks
      @MichiganRocks  ปีที่แล้ว

      I just ran down to the basement to try that out. The agatey areas glowed a faint green and the bands were slightly easier to see. Nothing too amazing but I'm glad I tried it. Thanks for the suggestion.

    This is quite the trip you've been taking lately. There is a reason they call it "Big Sky Country" in Montana. I've been to Bear Canyon as well. I must have had beginners luck as I got some really nice fortification. Good enough to cut some cabochons as well as specimens. I've been enjoying this current series of travels. Do you eventually make it to Oregon? We have lots of places to dig out west.

I love adventure dogs, I've been working on trying to get mine to be one, it's her first summer. If you cut some of the black ones into chunks would they tumble?

    • @MichiganRocks
      @MichiganRocks  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been thinking about whether I can tumble these. The small ones were all very full of holes and I don't think I'd be able to do much with them. I might try cutting some of the slabs up and throwing them into the tumbler. There was a really thick slab in the middle of that one because I cut both ends off an that part was in the vice. That would be the one to try to tumble, I think.
