It's too bad everyone can't grow up on a big farm. I learned about the effects of alcohol, airborne vehicles, and high speed driving when I was, younger than I'm going to admit. PLENTY of good times! Nobody ever got seriously hurt.
Playing Russian roulette in Texas passing on the right at high speed. Motorists are hammered on "pull to the right and stop for emergency vehicles" . They usually remember this at the worst time, when he decides to pass on the right. Speaking from experience.

There needs to be a federal minimum lighting requirement for all emergency vehicles, the STOCK break lights should NOT be tampered with except to improve the breaking/signaling capabilities (turn signal, break light, hazards with LEDs not used for emergency response). I don't know why anyone would think, it would be a GOOD idea to basically, fuck with break lights. It's on par with all functioning headlights turning off at night while the ELS is active... makes 0 sense.
What was the comment in regards to felony stops? Are they not common there? (You said if your not from Chicago or have training... ) Always good content I work in Arizona policing out here is hardly recognizable compared to the topics in many of your videos. Thanks
Do you have any driving tips for EMS personnel? I know high profile trucks aren't your specialty but with seeing wrecks throughout your career I'm interested to know what I can do as a new EMT.
@@joelbouyea8269 we got pretty heavy into the sound aspect of responses. With cars having noise dampening and active sound cancellation going even 35 is dangerous sometimes. He taught us that you always drive with due regard, emergent or not, and that you may be held responsible for a crash even if it is not your fault.
@free field training Hypothetically, if someone were to have already have gone airborne, BUT prior to that already been hard breaking and hold the steering wheel straight, would you advise to also let off the brakes if able, or maintain the status quo prior to being airborne? Late comment, but the answer is that with rare exceptions you must be an American citizen to be a police officer. Becoming an American citizen is extremely difficult and time consuming.

Ive always wondered why light bar mfgs didn't have a solid setting for the rear lights at night, so following officers and traffic don't get epilepsy from staring the flashing lights. I'd think if you are passing traffic at 90mph your not in much danger of being rear ended and needing the extra attention grab-iness of flashers.
I fly the sheriff’s helo & when alerted to launch last friday a patrol car picked me up from home & drove me code to the airport. At 120 mph on the highway we encountered the idiot in the far left lane who stopped in front of us....fortunately she slowed instead of slamming on her breaks....I live in Alabama. LMAO! 😂
Tell me how it's keeping the public safe by whipping a u-turn in the middle of the road flooring your car to go faster to catch up with someone going 10 mph over the speed limit?? How does it keep anyone safe that every cop you see, goes over the speed limit?? How am I kept safe and all my personal information kept safe when cops run plates all day long,, finding out information on anyone they want!?? When my dad was a cop he had to have a damn good reason to run a plate because it is a total breach of our privacy, there have been way too many crooked cops who will use that information for bad reasons!! Cops run on adrenaline it is a natural addictive drug. Plus pulling someone over for a "traffic violation" is just a way to keep digging and then ask all kinds of stupid questions especially the one " is there any weapons in the vehicle"? Cmon cops yes everyone has some sort of weapon in their vehicle. Just about every vehicle out there comes with a tire iron, perfect weapon.🤷🏻♂️ if you cops would go back to treating other humans like you want to be treated there wouldn't be this disconnect of the public that the cops have created. 95 percent of the people you encounter by choice are no less or more then the cop. We too can protect cops while they are working, yet they want to take our firearms for "their safety" thats a crock,, you took the job knowing the dangers, now because you have become a hammer everything else is a nail.
You seem like a good person please please don't forget your human and are absolutely NO more important then the next human, please spread the word to other cops who have let their egos tell them that they are "better" then the pesky humans who don't have a shiny piece of metal on their chest.

Good tire tread is critical for reducing the chance of hydroplaning. If it is really bad you'd have to consider if pursuing is worth it.

Collect the pay check, do the paper, and go home. People get the police they demand. At a certain point they learn.

I believe my EMT instructor said it's actually at 55MPH is when you will out run your siren. If that helps.
