Due to the reliance on combos and juggle chains the game has a very high skill ceiling. And that's just gameplay. The meta is also very deep as you need to know team composition and placement: Who's a good battery character to lead with or who your anchor character is. I guess the rule of thumb is treat it like you're playing Marvel as opposed to Street Fighter.
@@Anomaly188 No, Marvel is a whole other beast due to teammates having a far greater role in gameplay than they do in KOF (assists, team supers, dhcs, etc.). KOF may be 3v3, but it plays more like a faster Street Fighter akin to the Alpha series or Third Strike than true tag based games like Marvel and Skullgirls. The team order is mostly just for deciding who you wanna gove the most resources to. If a character enjoys having a lot of meter to work with and can easily mount a comeback, they'd benefit more from being further in the back of team than on point.
