I'hv both Airtel and Jio sim and jio is my main. There is a facility that jio offers i.e after your current plan expired you still get incoming calls and sms. This one thing sometimes very crucial for me atleast. Whereas Airtel cut off all connections after 7 days or something.
Also a smart customer recharge with the lowest amount possible for a month and take a broad band connection (here broadband means local broadband).

@IM YASH bro i m from kanpur and i also installed excitel broadband which is really good but in my area I got very bad network quality from airtel and data speed is also very poor I used airtel since 2012 but after jio yes for free internet I choose jio but i was blown away with the quality of internet which jio is providing in my area in 2016 I got 5 to 8 mbps in night time but yeah 2020 I got some issue's with jio about speed and customer service but now in my area jio is unbeatable bcoz of network range every single corner of my house I got same speed with best network which airtel is missing in my area 🖤 but airtel is always nostalgic for me 😌

Have worked for 8 years in Airtel. So can settle down the dust here. Airtel is loosing to Jio heavily day and night. They have old infra with limited service network. Plans are expensive vs Jio. Broadband connection minimises the use of DTH. So DTH is an ongoing obsolete service ,dying daily. Airtel payment Bank business is bubble , you will find no users on ground using this service. It's a tool to befool invester in Bharti Airtel. Coming to 5G now , JIO network will be far superior then old infra based Airtel network.
Jiomart is next game changer now. JIO customers have exclusive access to source grocery at very competitive prices.

Just one thing missed, SIM portability. Since 2016, porting between networks has become very effortless and Jio has been very aggressively going towards this with free sim home delivery. Also I think many high value customers must have bought Jio sim in 2016 since Jio was providing a better 4G receptions than other telecom providers.

I sensed the real digital revolution when jio entered due to it's affordability and before Jio I was using Airtel, but I have switched from Airtel 3G to 2G due to high cost. Approximately 250 per GB and used to turn on and off mobile data..!
I remember when Airtel was an evil company back around 2010. It had a monopoly in "good" services and priced everything expensive. I hate Airtel since then. Ab ye jo bahut achhe ban rhe hain, inhe Peet Peet kar achhe banaya gya hai. Nahi to lutere the 1 no ke apne time me.

Airtel wasn't doing anything different. Everybody charged more or less the same rates in pre Jio era. Tata, Reliance, BSNL, Vodafone, Idea, Spice, Telenor/ Uninor etc. At that time that was the market. Why single out Airtel only? Only because it survived the onslaught of Jio? There were so many pockets in the interior where not only Jio, even Airtel and Vodafone couldn't reach. Only BSNL was there. And even now only BSNL sim works there. You have to only see which one works in your location where you will receive or make calls and access internet.
Watching this video using Airtel's Network but future me agar BSNL apni 4G service aachi krta hai to definitely going to port in BSNL without thinking twice❤

The day Airtel shuts down its shop- it will be Jio monopoly in the market and It will charge crazy amount to its customers. Just check country like US where there only 2 telecoms and the charges they charge is crazy because once anyone becomes a Single owner of the Telecom industry- It will bribe the respective depts in govt to make sure the law supports them. Big example was of BSNL- The services they offered were bad but people still had to put up with that because- it was a monopoly.
On the other Airtel is going to reap big benefits by premium customers. People initially said Apple is not going to survive in India as the cost is very high compared to Samsung, Nokia, MI or any other brand. But look at the profitability of Apple today compared to everyone else. They have enough liquid cash to buy companies. That is the power of Premium market- Same thing is happening with Airtel. They will survive any kind of war as they are not only present in India but they have presence in African nations as well.

I live in a Tier-3 city. And, I am completely shocked by the fact that yes, Airtel entered my home as ISP during the Covid days. We had a monopoly of only one fibre ISP in the area but after Airtel came, things changed and services improved. Till now, even after 7 months, I had 0 minutes of downtime with Airtel.

I am not Airtel customer but really want them to up their game against Jio. I don't want Jio to dominate the market alone. Once Jio get that they will do same what Airtel did years ago giving less data and charge more. I reduced my consumption to reduce my Jio bill due to increased price.

But you haven't really mentioned about Jio Mart, which was recently launched and it can deliver cheap products to tier 2 cities like mine. Moreover my cable setup box was changed to a Jio setup box even though I am using a local cable provider and it's interface has many blank spaces for ads to be served. When I was starting mobile using at that time (2003) my 1st Sim was airtel until now I'm using airtel, I love airtel.

Well honestly, no one is going to destroy it as of now. What you had explained for airtel similar things are there for Jio already, have a fact check. Secondly, do you honestly feel the reasonings you are putting justified .... a lot of research, analysis goes into right from planning what should be there in market and what not, what is customer behavious and how, when target a user.
Jio and airtel, both are now a digital company and not a telecom operator, first thing. Secondly, both the companies are trying to create the digital ecosystem by creating their own plaforms, to have a control on every aspect of the product, right from data, privacy, cost etc.
So would recommend, better get your facts check. :)

I feel with porting facilities.. many premium customers would have migrated to Jio too.. so Jio too would have some premium customers.. I guess
You look at two metrics in telecom: ARR + Churn (Recurring) and CLV (Customer lifetime value)
If you compare Airtel plans to Jio plans offering the same benefits, then Airtel plans are definitely more expensive. Airtel's strategy is to remove people who use secondary sims and concentrate only on primary money generating customers, thus increasing CLV(shown in video). By pricing higher, they are focusing on the customer segment willing to pay more and gain exclusivity from the crowd. So big ticket customers indeed.
Airtel can discount portability by looking at churn% of the user, and also how loyal the customer have been. They will be targeted. Also, after 5-6 years of jio launch any premium customer who had to migrate would have migrated by now. Jio would have considerably less % of premium customers

Good analysis but Aditya what airtel is doing ain't that breach of privacy? Well, I used to be a hardcore Airtel User untill 2018 but now I just stick with Jio , It's not that I can't pay more but I don't have trust on AIRTEL and also we should remember that without JIO , we would be still paying 100INR for 2 GB / per DAY by AIRTEL .

I used to buy airtel recharges too, it used to be quite good but I had to change it to Jio because thier network was bad in my area. It was so bad that I couldn't use internet properly for a month, it wasn't that bad before jio launch I don't know how is it know but it bad at that time in my area. It was frustrating so in the end I decided to switch to jio.
In my case the scenario you explained for broadband during Covid lockdown is opposite for me… i have two no, primary airtel and secondary jio & wanted a better broadband service (had alliance broadband but not satisfied with service). I contacted airtel for broadband service but it was not available in my locality where as jio was available. I took jio fiber.
Now my primary no is in jio, broadband is jio fiber & i also disconnected dishTV and took Jio fiber combo with all OTT…

I use to pay hundreds for a gb, and for my mother I use to recharge her phone with minimum balance of rs 2000 which airtel use to utilize for caller tune and live tv schemes without my permission. I had to call the customer service and had to request for the refund, I am not poor, quality of tata sky hd was way superior then airtel dish back in 2017. I really hate airtel and curse the owners of airtel for all the bad they might have done to some elderly peoples who might be not good with technologies. Hope they get bankrupt even in abroad.

Bang on. Airtel is a very well managed and professionally run business. Build its telecom empire from start. Aritel Africa is listed in London Stock Exchange and valued at USD 5.5 billion and Airtel holds 51% of that company. Airtel Money is very useful in Africa and Airtel has started to monetized the Africa business. Airtel is majority owner of INR 50000 Cr tower company ,Indus Tower in India. So impossible for Ambani to elbow out Airtel. Airtel does its business in very fairway unlike killing competition. Mr Ambani has already sold 31% of Jio Platform to various MNC so cheap plan from Jio may not be cheap 2 years down the line. Those investor may put pressure on Ambani for meaningful return on investment. Who knows Telecom and Retail may not be focus for Ambani's in next decade , they will jump in Liquid Hydrogen green fuel . But Sunil Mittal is still dedicated to Telecom. Mittal's does have interest on insurance though.

In Africa, fiber optics is not much of an option due to poor infrastructure, almost everyone uses mobile data, be it on their phone or home, except in offices. Data is expensive in Africa but Airtel is offering data for very cheap in Africa and has enormous market share. Airtel is not going anywhere anytime soon, lol

मेरे पास 2 साल पहले तक एयरटेल था। लेकिन इसका प्लान जिओ से 50 रुपये ज्यादा थे। साथ ही इनकमिंग आउटगोइंग भी बिना रिचार्ज बन्द हो जाता था। फिर मैंने जिओ पोर्ट करवा लिया। रिचार्ज की दृष्टि से जिओ बेस्ट है लेकिन बाकी सब मे एयरटेल बेस्ट है जैसे इंटरनेट स्पीड आदि।

I use both data consumption is more on Airtel compared to Jio
Jio also has some network issue here and there but providing services at lower cost

Un technician ko call kre to vo call tk nhi uthate hai customer care Wale bolte hai AJ sham tk ho jayega kl subah tk ho jayega... Itni bakwas Services maine ajtk kisi company ki nhi dekhi hai jitni Airtel ki hai .... Jio yaha abhi tk nhi aya hai nhi to jio sbse best hai aur jbtk jio ata hai tbtk ye SB to zelna pdega ... Airtel may be achha rhega lekin unki services boht bekarrr hai ... 8-9 dino tk broadband band rhta hai ... Koi bhi broadband lgana ho to pahle services check kr Lena apne area me taki badme pachtana na pade 🙌🏻🙌🏻

For the last 1.5 years I have been regularly complaining about the airtel network signal strength on airtel thanks app but no use at all the same problem till today I am facing. Sir change your mobile and check weather that new device has 3ca antenna in it.! This also happened to me then i change my mobile now 4g is working flawlessly everywhere.

@@theadityasaini, You did not talk about the 5G spectrum auction and how companies are gonna profit from it. I watched this video just to get knowledge about how the current auction is going to change the telecom industry. The ecosystem comparison is commendable and yes airtel is surely gonna benefit from that but I found that the present avg revenue per user comparison was hypothetical.

There is an alternate service offered by Jio for every Airtel service (fiber,dth,ott,mobile plans etc) and some of their plans are cheaper than Airtel(like their mobile plans).
So again, what is Airtel's "Masterplan"?🤔
