I'm 49 years old. I was in my early teens when metal was exploding. I picked up Screaming for Vengeance in 1982. To this day it remains my favorite metal masterpiece. Thru my 20's,30's40's good times and bad in my life ..Judas Priest music has been there. It's literally a part of me.. In my opinion no other band sounds better live. Heavy metal for ever.

The Origional British Metal era was on a dip by 82, the 80's were the hairspray and lipstick American styled Metal times. All the Origional Metal bands struggled to repeat the 70's until the late 90's and 2000's. You just missed the real party mate, sorry to say

Rob mentions The Clash - great band, too. And boy did they crash in '82.

Yes, only he can save Judas Priest now where there is no Glenn anymore. He founded that band and was there for over 40 years writing and making that bitchin' music that he had done. I don't care he left, Rob left too and they took him back, K.K. wants to get back either. Besides, what kind of 50th anniversary is that with 2 new guitarist?! Iron Maiden survived with very classic lineup, why can't Judas Priest?
      BRING BACK K.K.!!!

Late 70's we referred to Sabbath, Purple, Hawkwind, Zeppelin as Heavy/Hard Rock and Priest, UFO, Scorpions and Saxon as the all new scene of Heavy Metal. Iron Maiden followed as did Def Leppard. Leppard shunned Metal for American drivel that earned more money at the time
