Great description of the different types of zippers! I always get nervous when I have to insert a zipper, and I hope the additional information you are giving me will help me get over it. Would you say that putting beeswax on an uncoated metal zipper is a temporary fix because it wears off quickly? Or does the beeswax keep working for a while?
The bees wax is a semi-temporary fix, it helps when your zipper is really getting stuck. When you are buying zippers (the cheapest ones are usually uncoated and problematic), so I just wanted to give everyone a solution if one had bought an uncoated zip... this is a pretty good fix tho and stays for a month (I'm guessing). Hopefully you get over your nervousness about zippers... they really are not as scary and intimating as you may think. Thanks for watching and showing an interest in this content. Happy sewing!
I just found your video looking for some advice on zipper sizes and although I hardly ever watch videos like this I subbed you cos you're funny as f**k! Really glad to find a real character, wish there were more people like you in the world, well not exactly like you cos that would be weird but, you know, the character bit! Thanks for your awesome video! ❤👍
Nothing was mentioned about the thickness of the zipper teeth rather than just the open or closed length of them I need (but cannot find) a replacement zipper slide that handles a zipper where the teeth are 6 mm wide when closed and the thickness of the closed teeth is 3 mm on a Wilson Ultra winter jacket. width
zero ideas about magnetic zippers. Iol ... didn't even know they existed. They sound like they would break or malfunction easily tho (especially if you have any other magnetic device around that zipper).😂
There may or may not be a catch... depending on the zipper type, they can be faulty (more often metal zipper and nylon). if it is a metal zipper and they don't slide very well, this could be that they are not coated... you can fix this to some degree but you may have a problem later if the zippers are sticking. OR maybe there might not be a catch, maybe there is someone out there trying to get rid of sewing supplies from their grandmother? I do buy second hand zippers, you just need to check to see if the slide works... maybe you can ask to see a video of them using the zipper? hahah
Great video. Love the dedicated focus to 'all things zipper'.
Thank you so much for watching! Next week is going to be more zipper focused content. 😅

@@LTRLtrend yeah probably lol
came here because I need to acquire some and wonder if buying them in bulk on Marketplace is a good idea? 60 pcs for $10? What's the catch?

How can I find a tutorial on sizing/cutting zippers?
