My parents gave me my first shotgun for Xmas when I was 12 years old. They trusted me and I didn't let them down unlike the Crumbly kid had!... Later in life I became a United States Marine and further, trained all 4 of my children how to properly shoot at 12 years of age, so stop blaming the parents for another persons actions... This is insanity!!! Under your theory, should any of my firearm trained children get into trouble, its my fault, I should do the prison time....
The school contacted these parents. They were slow to respond and then didn’t react knowing they had given him a weapon. They should’ve taken him home and secured the weapon. Instead they sent him back to class.
@@turtletruth I have to wonder why you deemed it necessary to claim that you are a Marine. While I thank you for your service, how is that even remotely relevant to any point you’re attempting to make? What purpose does it serve other than to be manipulative in attempting to elicit sympathy or convey somehow that your opinion carries more merit than another’s? Is being a Marine suddenly a free pass that you’re automatically a model parent? I’ve known Marines who were alcoholics and abusive to their families. My point of view still stands that firearms have absolutely no place in the hands of children. THAT is what is insanity. Firearms are not toys. I’d much rather my children learn self confidence and how to protect themselves by training in martial arts. It’s a much healthier and safer option. I’m an educator. I tell you this because as an educator, I see parents like this absolutely every day of my career. The apple does not fall far from the tree when it comes to children. Narcissistic parents make terrible parents. When you call to criticize their children’s behavior or conduct, they take it as a personal attack against themselves because they view their children as extensions of themselves. They enable and make any excuse imaginable for their children. It’s no wonder why their children have such outrageous senses of entitlement.
The kid wrote "the thoughts won't stop. help me" on a math school test, under a drawing of his gun. This is one of those very very rare cases when the parents are more guilty for the deaths than their murdering child.

Yeah she used to just work the counter too I wonder how many people that work in gun shops know very much then. Personally I used to work in high end clothing and jewellery and would wonder about the products too oh I wonder if that lady's husband will like the dress or if his wife will like the diamond earrings do they ever wonder if the gun they sold is going to kill some kids at the school?
She said she didn’t know what the FBI does with the information once it’s sent over to them. It’s common sense that a NICS check is a background check (which she refers it as a few seconds later)
A more important question is why, if there i no response to the NICS request, it is an automatic "go" to sell a gun?!? Why wouldn't the default be STOP the gun sale. I mean if it is Joe Blow's job to check the incoming gun documents, but he happens to get the flu and be out for the week...then ANYONE during that time automatically gets to buy a gun?!?
I’m still trying to figure out if Jennifer Crumbly’s name is on the receipt. I wish the defense would’ve asked some more questions to make that clear. 🤦🏼♀️

Why are so many serious 'jobs' handled by people that don't know crap. I would think working in a store that sells firearms ,would require someone to know everything ,laws, handling of weapons etc.
The 5 day wait and then them being allowed to hand a firearm over because the BG check is not back yet is a loophole that needs to be addressed. I learned of this a few years ago and someone with murderous intention more than likely will have that 5 days later. Not always of course.
I am also concerned that if there is no answer, the default is the sale goes through. I think the sale should only go thought if they come back with a green light from the BC, otherwise they wait or its a no go!
So they weren’t paying their house payment, they weren’t getting Ethan the help he BEGGED for but they had horses and were buying guns? yep, great parents!

I think defense attorney believes jurors are “total buffoons” and thinks it takes asking a question 10-20 different ways to obtain the same answer. Case in point. How many times did she ask the gun store clerk (I say clerk I never understood her title) was the mom’s signature on the receipt….oh about 44 times (I’m guessing bc I lost count at around 17). So I wonder if she feels confident the jury knows mom’s signature wasn’t on the receipt. If I were that witness and after her asking that question about mom’s signature not being on the receipt for the 3rd time I would have responded “I’ve already answered that question twice…why do you keep asking it”.
I know what you mean it’s so frustrating but you have to put up with their buffoonery and try and answer respectfully. Otherwise you may get a verbal smack on the hand

Ah, that makes sense. Pretty dysfunctional family dynamics I saw in the police videos.
Who is doing the closed captioning? Im reading about the Lions & football stuff.
I was reading about how long it takes walnut trees to mature.

Both parents need to be locked away for good
My parents gave me my first shotgun for Xmas when I was 12 years old.
I agree this boy asked for help and the parents failed him it's 😢 and innocent people died. They all are participants in this crime. 💔 The parents should have took their son for help.
How does the manager not know what the NICS check “does”? God help us.
@@frankief1142 Point made Frankie 👍. I do believe she understands what a NICS check is.
Buying guns for your mentally disturbed child-don’t you just LOVE the gun culture?
That was supposed to fix their mental illness, according to the NRA handbook!
This lawyer is so annoying I don’t think she has much experience
Surprisingly, she does. She represented the gymnastics coach who was violating kids.
I know I was shocked she has experience!!
Can anyone hear what this judge is saying? She has no presence and lacks real authority.
Nice way of demeaning a successful woman.
Jealous much?
Wow! This woman attorney is INSUFFERABLE… how many times did she ask if the moms name was on the receipts… OMG SHUT HER UP!
I’m still trying to figure out if Jennifer Crumbly’s name is on the receipt. I wish the defense would’ve asked some more questions to make that clear. 🤦🏼♀️
You might need to rewatch the video. Although it's brief, the attorney did mention that Jennifer's name was not on the receipt. You're welcome. 😉
@JustOneOpinion But Jennifer bought the bullets.
Lol, anyone understand sarcasm here?
Years before the school shooting he found a gun in the house and shot up her kayak.
The defendant seems to want to portray herself in court as a physical and emotional wreck!!
It takes a lotta work to look that bad!
The mother is super unlikeable.
I've never understood Americans' insistence on having guns .
Their insanity on this issue is just fascinating to the rest of the world.
Where are you from dawn
Wait..a citizen from a perfect country has spoken! Hush and learn.
@@PuntaPacifica507😂 love this. They always come on here and just can’t believe that we could ever live with such “horrendous healthcare” and “crime ridden cities”. It’s just these passive aggressive digs like we’re supposed to be jealous of them in their perfect little countries.
@@Psychiatricnerd where they have a population of 5-15 million and strict immigration laws....and they try to pretend they're just like us.
Yes, for real!!
Watching this attorney is so painful..the use of the word Correct is so overused.
CooooRrrrrrEeecccccTTTt!! Condescending tone
It is frightening how little she actually knows about firearms, while working as a manager in a gun store...
One example:
"Yes, cable lock you have to take the slide off the pistol, and run the cable through the barrel..."
She is the Office Manager and not the Store Manager. All the details about guns are on the Store Manager and the Owner.
That stood out to me, also. She definitely doesn't have a semi-auto she's cable locking.
All in all, though, it was nice watching an honest woman do her best.
Get a life
sure looks like she had to stop herself from saying FBI wrong.
So? Exactly what kind of "expert" does she need to be to work in a gun store, fill out forms and take money? And what would a more knowledgeable person have done differently? Your comment just makes no sense.
She has the OG Karen hairstyle 😂❤
22:50 Asking the same question over and over, correct? The gun was unsecured, correct?
Asked and answered. My god.
Judge seems wishywashy. I realize she’s trying to be fair and careful due to the unprecedented nature of this case, but she is not coming across as someone in control of their courtroom.
These closed captions though....
The transcript here is not the transcript for what this video shows
The defense lawyer sounds like she is a character on Saturday Night Live.
What a stupid way to authorise someone to get a gun !! The shop has to make sure its legal for a person to have a gun, but after 5 days, if the shop hasn't recieved the say so to let the customer legally take the gun they can take the weapon anyway 😮
💯ridiculous!
This defense lawyer is BAD
Listening to this defense attorney talk makes my head explode. She needs to go back to school - she's awful! It's like listening to nails on a chalk board.
Think the defence lawyer is a bit out of her depth, that's how she comes across
I came for the Karen haircut, I stayed for the entertainment.
why is CC not giving what she is saying and talking about chimney cleaning, real estate, practically even other than what thy are saying in the Audio. Very Strange!!
wtf is with the closed caption on this video ? has NOTHING to do with what is being said ..who is in charge of texting here because they need to be fired
Her son who is still a child took responsibility & was sentenced.
Jennifer? Who is an adult is trying to weasel out of her responsibility.
I can’t stand it when the witness cannot be heard.
Charge everybody.
The principal, teachers, lunch ladies, and janitor too. Lotty Dotty everyBODY.
Let the chips go where they go.
The closed captioning is all about carbon monixide detectors 😂
I got why it is important to keep your chimney clean.
Mine is about the academy awards or whatever the heck they’re called. 😂
Why are so many serious 'jobs' handled by people that don't know crap. I would think working in a store that sells firearms ,would require someone to know everything ,laws, handling of weapons etc.
She knew he was buying it
Why is Mrs. Crumbley being forced to wear a furni pad?
The manager has an ‘I want to speak to the manager’ haircut.
Boy, she's really sending Mr.Crumbley upstream, eh? All grey is a good look for her.-it shows how the process has aged her.
This witness is sporting the proverbial Karen hairstyle
Lol. Noticed that immediately!
She sure is!
Why be racist
Even if Ethan weren't mentally ill, and "just" evil, they STILL bought a gun for him.
My concern is why is there nba subtitals on this video..talking about basket ball lol
I learned about walnut trees.
I got why it is important to keep your chimney clean.
Instead of Karen asking for the manager, karen is the manager.
So they weren’t paying their house payment, they weren’t getting Ethan the help he BEGGED for but they had horses and were buying guns? yep, great parents!
The thing is there are no established laws against bad or suboptimal parenting. The date of the tragedy there was not a gun storage law on the books - we do not have a proactive system but a very slow to react system.
@@t.martin3179 actually MI does have gun storage laws whenever there is a minor living on the premises.. so in that way they did break the law.
@@fedupwitumboth The law related to storage took effect *after* Oxford.
i lost track of how many times she asked if jennifer’s name was on the receipt after the 6th in probably 2 minutes
OK...who is doing the subtitles. It have nothing to do with this testimony 🙄🙄
The defense attorney is the definition of..XXXX...tra! She is grossly unprofessional.
That's the most early 2000's Karen haircut ever, in 2024
It does look good on her, though.
She is no Karen. Crumbly is 100% guilty.
This attorney should be on SNL 🤪
Lawyer missed a great opportunity to ask her what are some of the reasons for a DELAY ! Because several reasons a red flag popped up causing further investigation! Maybe they were busy that day ! Maybe had to get a supervisor ok to clear the background! My point is he could have done more with that
If I never hear the word “correct” again I will be extremely happy.
Of course she bragged about his new gun online!
Had a shamble of a house but can afford a slew of guns! Wow. And can’t afford health insurance for his sick in the head son who was begging for help!!! Don’t add up!!! Why did he need so many guns 🧐
this is an awesome precedent, all minors charged with a firearm crime should have the parents charged also.
i agree, its an awesome precedent. but you're wrong when it comes to charging ALL parents, that's just ridiculous.
@@Glocks.Scotch.and.Wristwatch ok maybe leave it up to a prosecutor and judge but if parents were more legally responsible for their children it would have to reduce a lot of crime and maybe if kids can make it to eighteen without getting locked up they might have a better chance of going their whole life without crime
We can regulate cars better than guns?
They must have a good cook in that jail. And a bad hair stylist.😆
That manager is wrong about a cable lock
Not to take away from the horrific nature of this situation but THAT is the quintessential "Karen" hairstyle!
Kate Gosselin style!
Why isnt the gun purchaser James the one on trial?
The money paid for the gun is enough money for a couple of therapy sessions for the boy. Too bad the parents made the wrong choice.
Is ignorance a crime now????
The closed captions for me were about carbon monoxide poisoning?
I got walnut trees.
The USA is a truly sick country 😮
a 22 lr derringer? XD no caliber is too little no gun is too short... guys be responsible with your tools
The lawyer for the defendent is literally unprofessional, arrogant and disorganized. She should be disbarred.
The defense attorney is not prepared
All leading questions. I would have objected.
I like her hairdo and see many with the same
ONLY IN OAKLAND COUNTY, MICHIGAN!
Oakland County Michigan residents have learned its Judicial and financial suicide residing inside the county!
Oakland County has the harshest legal punishments in the nation and the utmost draconian and brutal policing and probation conditions of any state!
Responsible gun ownership used to be a point of pride. Now people obsessed with 2a victimization want legal protection to provide unrestricted firearm access to school shooters. This cannot happen and she needs to be found guilty
Nah this is a mental health issue more than anything. If they would’ve taken their kid to get psychiatric help we likely wouldn’t be here today.
Gosh Jenifer sure has put some weight on during her time in prison. The food must be so good!
I don't like pointing out some lawyers use their clients appearance to 'sell an image' to the jury. Sorry, these parents were enmeshed in their own needs and their son's wellbeing was not their priority. More concerned with their
horse's health( there were texts about vet's visit between them the day of the shooting!!) But mental health emergency for son a 'bother'. Giving that gun to her son, what the hell?
Look at you, commenting on the part that matters the most! 😂
This Judge is such a low talker, so I can't hear her rulings.
Is her name Karen
Guns are so cheap! They should be taxed more. Higher prices would deter some people. There should be a restriction on the sale of sub machine guns etc
My suggestion is to research these things. If you think it's easy to buy a sub machine gun lawfully in the US you are far below the threshold of understanding the topic.
the defense lawyer is on her first ever case here it seems..... also, i think they are wasting a lot of time with this case and adding a ton of stuff that doesnt really matter..... prove they knew he was sick. prove they gave him a gun as a gift. . . call it a day
She was the attorney on the Larry Nassar case. She’s not a novice although she certainly acts like one
