    I’m so glad to see these comments about people graduating and deciding to pursue acting. I graduate later this year and it’s been my dream to act for years and I think I’m going to finally try. My parents have always told me that they don’t like the industry but I know that I can do it and I’m not going to do something that I don’t want to do

    I love the idea of acting, I get really excited thinking about scenes I could imagine myself in, and different roles I could play but the scariest thing for me, completely, is other people. I dont know if Id be happy with the amount of attention you get for performing, let alone if you become recognizable. I'm an introvert with stage fright, its hard to push myself into it.

      There’s both positive or negative way to look at this but view how you want; not a lot of actors makes it big in the sense of fame. Or some good actors have a few fans but aren’t recognised often. I understand your worry but I believe you will get through it, acting is also a journey and if you love doing it hopefully those concerns will bother you less and less as you progress! I wish you luck! 🧡

    The one thing stopping me is that I am a young mom of two children and a military wife. It’s discouraging when other mothers or couples tell me that I am wasting my time and hope wanting to become an actress when I have things to handle at home. I know I could manage my time well and keep things in line. Nobody in my family believed in my dreams growing up. I hope to get past this obstacle and make my children and spouse proud of how hard I am working towards what I want to do in life

    Thought I'd give some advice here so I spoke to my friend who is a UK actor who has done it for 19 years, he is really quite successful and who I have worked with as a production assistant several times. Here are his 3 tips....
    1) Get some professional training.
    Even if your the best natural actor in the world this shows your dedicated and will hone those skills. It will also teach you certain phrases you will hear on set and then you won't have to ask what they mean.
    2) DO NOT under any circumstances mention social media in an audition. Casting directors hate it. They don't care how many followers you have and if you share everything on social media they may not want to let you see the script or be around any big names.
    3) Be realistic and manage your expectations. Your never guaranteed your next acting role. 97% of actors either work or have worked regular jobs. Even some bigger names go back to regular jobs, you just don't hear about it much. Their not all as rich as you might think. Sometimes a big film might not pay much but it could lead to a commercial that pays more than you can imagine. You may be surprised what roles earn you bigger money....In this industry you've 'made it' if your getting a paycheck.

    • @Sumhavo1
      @Sumhavo1 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What sort of professional training and are there any resources to find this training?

    • @sdfilmproductions4193
      @sdfilmproductions4193 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Sumhavo1 A few years with any professional drama group will provide efficient training that Casting directors and agents will accept and this will also provide a couple theatre roles to start an acting resume. He has said however that you have to constantly be phoning and arranging meetings with industry professionals. He started decades ago when there was no internet. He said it's so much easier nowadays but he did emphasise real industry professionals will not advertise or reach out on social media. You have to reach out to them the old fashioned way. Phone, arrange a meeting, and then meet with them in person.

    I do a bunch of short films on my personal/professional channel. More so directing, writing, editing, etc as opposed to acting. However, definitely want to pursue this career as a whole. This video was greatly helpful! Most videos just talk about how hard it is to get in and don’t really give solutions besides saying “get lucky”. I’m currently 18 in northern nevada, just graduated. While my family is supportive…. Once I graduated they just want me focusing on a “real job” instead of anything with film. This video is very inspirational! Thank you!

    Im 14, I have wanted to be an actor since I was about 6-7 years old, and I started acting classes when I was 6. One day however, I had an unfortunate moment on stage ( I was really embarrassed) and as a little 6 year old, I quit. I was almost ashamed of acting its self, and I tried to forget about it, but obviously I could not. So I started again when I was 13, and now I am getting very serious about it. I am in the best school for acting in my area, and I recently got a role in a play. ( It was just a school play but a lot of people auditioned so I was so grateful that I got it) Anyway, I guess the main road block is that I feel like I am not good enough, and I feel like I am in a constant competition, I absoloutly LOVE acting, its my favourite thing in the world, and I think because I love it so much, I am constantly shadowed by the fear of missing out. I also see so many young actors ( Percy Jackson for example) who got roles young, and I just wish that was me, and that I was that good. I obviously know that I can overcome it, It is just difficult. If anyone has any tips what so ever please let me know!!

    I personally want to set realistic goals. I want to start from the very bottom and i want to eventually get into video game acting aka motion capture acting. Im not trying to become a legendary famous actor (there’s nothing wrong with that) but because I want to just be honest with myself and be well known and respected in the industry.

    Acting is very very hard. I’ve gotten into it 3 different times bc I love it and I’m telling u all it’s all about who u know. I have failed 3 times and gotten only a couple modeling gigs as a bigger man and also a bunch of extra gigs. It sucks bc I know I’m pretty good but no one will give me a real chance m. I don’t consider extra work acting so don’t even bring that up lol

    Hi! Thank you sooo so much for posting this video, (even tho its 2024 now lol) I am wanting to get into acting once I graduate, but I also have boundaries, I dont want to act and do anything against my beliefs and standards, but Hollywood gets really corrupt, but I still have a passion to act. Any advice on getting good gigs, but knowing what you are getting into beforehand? Thanks!

    I'm 15. I never knew what I wanted to be in the future, what to strive for. But lately I've been watching a lot of movies and series and I just started dreaming about the life and career of an actress. But I don't know if I really can, because I live in Lithuania, but I don't want to be an actress in Lithuania, I I want to pursue a career in America, because it's a better choice for me. And it worries me, because I don't know if I'll study in Lithuania or in America, I'm afraid that I might get a bit of an accent. And it would be a really risky decision. But maybe in the rest of the year I'll commit to .Thank you for the video! It was really helpful!❤

    Hi! I just finished up college football and my dream was to make it to the NFL. Sadly, I didn’t make it and this was very heartbreaking and depressing for me, and still is.. luckily, while I WAS in college, I found a passion for film and acting and got my degree in it. I’d say the only thing stopping me from pushing towards this dream to be in film was always football. Now I feel like I need to get over the depressing hump of not making the NFL, and pursue acting and cinematography. I’m going to take your steps and I hope they work for me! Thank you and I hope we can stay connected !

    Im currently in the military and have always had the dream of being an actor. The issue was that i didnt have any support for being an actor at school even though I've won my very first film festival between my district's school (4 other high schools) and still couldnt convince my family that my dream could possibly come true. Im currently 23 yrs old, im in the military but still want to act in short films up to an actual movie on screen where everyone can enjoy watching me act in a movie. What are some of the recommendations that i should do before fully diving into this new world of acting?

This video was actually really helpful, i live near Atlanta, so it kinda gave me a bit of hope, but i have no experience at all, but i do have experiences in acting during school plays, main characters that is, but I don’t think that would really count as a reel or a scene as you described, is there any other ways to do that instead of taking scenes or is that the only way?
