Every time i say i m a food Engineer i need to take at least 1 min to explain it..because most people think it teach us cooking n recipes. Bitter reality😞
Whenever I tell someone about my course (bsc in food science and technology) they just think about food not the. "technology" 😂😂 and *you best explain that* and I am trying to tell these differences to my neighbor who relate the food to the hotel management, and say "Khana banauge inta padh ke"😥😥
One of my relative is doing integrated MSC from BIT meshra in food technology. What is the scope after Master's. I must say that the pay package is very very low as compared with other courses. Though food technology is not new in India, but now the craze is their. After spending 8 -10 lacs, if anyone getting 15k in starting, how it justifies and the scope of placement in many colleges including BIT is too poor. I am not discouraging anyone, but putting the facts. Hope one day strict regulations and standards will bring reforms.
I agree that the salary is low in the beginning. But the salary depends on campus placements, college and the student. There are many mainstream branches where you can spend 8-10 lacs and still get a job that pays 10,000. I've seen the freshers getting as high as 9 lacs per annum package after completing masters in food technology. So it depends. And if the salary is the sole purpose behind choosing a branch then don't chose it.
@@foodtechsimplified you probably misunderstood me. The field is challenging. The scope is vast, but the systems and awareness is low. At the end of the day package do also matters. Their r two avenues. Btech and MSC. I hope both were also not same. I wish to have ur views on this and to light on further scope for higher studies . ie either mtech or for PhD??
@@anirbanbhattacharya4786 I agree with you. Mtech or phd depends on where you want to go. If you want to go for academia and be a professor, then PhD is the choice. Otherwise M.tech is good for industry.
My son wants to pursue food technology with biotech but he is a PCB student will he get admission, as his percentage is 65.6%.... from Goa, here there are no colleges for food technology, can u suggest gd colleges in karnataka

bro this is wrong hotels also have standards like HACCP, FSSAI ,NRAI yes its true that you are scientist but we give product or food to you then you have food to do experiment. you cannot cook food as good as chef but a chef knows what are the shelf life of product. we exist then you exist
Hello ...well explained.👍👏...as a food technologist i was also gone through the same from my relatives ...I used to explain more but they couldn't understand....as you said it is still emerging in India and hope will get more scope in future... all the best for your efforts...

But the purpose of both stremas is same na.. Finally food will meant for only consumer's!!! So the myth of people is not crt bro!!not so much thing to worry
Hi there! Thanks for the comment. I agree that the ultimate purpose is to serve the consumers. Although that's not the point of this particular video. A lot of people who are unaware about Food Technology, confuse it with hotel management. And that's completely stupid because food technology involves a very deep understanding of science behind the food production. I have no disregard for hotel management(as I also mentioned in the video) but the point I'm trying to emphasize here is that both the streams are different. Also you mentioned here in your comment that purpose of both streams is same.. Technically speaking in terms of science, food technology serves the food that is processed, and validated by an authority (fssai in India). Hotel management just involves food at the level which looks good and tastes good. Your move. ☺️
U cant blame our food tech bothers....mana ki btech ke baad bhi unka er nehi lagta...but ...hote hey humari bhai... Aur sun kabhi aa mathew biryani khila denge...
