Bought the book last summer. Read it twice and now dog-ear'ing, hi-lighting, and taking notes. Overall, price to value ratio is very high. Using this YT channel and the book, I have been able to test my Baofengs on FRS, of course. Plus, I don't have a cured pork certificate.
You can also come to one of NC Scout's classes. We'll be doing one in a couple weeks in NC.

Bought a set for my kid for walkie talkies unaware of what they were and realized I was unknowingly enlisted into the ranks of a ham radio turf war , I've since accepted this cause was the calling of my life and willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for my baofeng brethren, you can oppress us but we will never pay over 50$ for a handheld radio...
.( I've yet to receive them in the mail but this epiphany came to me already )

Randy is the best cult leader I have ever worshipped, and this book DEconfuckulated my mind and modulated my frequencies with no measurable RF leakage, I would follow Randy to hell and back with just his Roger Beep to guide me….so, I bought the damn book.

Considering the target circumstances of this book, having it on an ereader is possibly pointless. I got the dead tree version a while ago to go with my Boof Wang UV5R.

I've learned so much by watching these videos -- especially the right way to hold a Baofeng radio. All these years I was doing it wrong!
Book is fantastic, if you have a radio you should read it. Make notes, highlight, sticky tabs. Then try some stuff and then read it again.

I purchased this book myself and it does some good info to pass. When they teach you communications in the military they have a set process in which they explain the terminology first then proceed with teaching the subject material. This book is written in a way that anyone who never has been in the military or operated a radio can learn in the simplest manner. It is not a manual, it is guide just as the title reads. It covers basics such as programming, ciphers and COMSEC, etc. One of the most important areas he covers is the types of radios, frequencies and who operates on them. So, what you waitin fer?? Go get yer 'Boofwang'!!

I should do the same kind of manual for the UV-K5 ( Retevis, Quansheng, Anysecu, Woxhung) how to flash, how to customize it, what antenna, volume knob, speaker, what it can do, what it should not do, how to antennas, and some bio about who are the men behind the names of Fagci, Piotr and Egzumer, and their stories. but all illustrated.
( also a tutorial that explains the plot of Die Hard 2 and why you should not be the villain hacking the air band frequencies.)
NotaRubicon videos are a national treasure. Informational, entertaining, and dumbed down enough to where even I can comprehend the concepts being discussed despite only taking up the radio hobby 5 min ago.

I have 5 baofeng handheld ham radios that i bought from wish , they are great and dont worry anytime you order something from wish most of the time it may take 2 to 3 weeks to get it but its worth the wait

Not a Radio Dork here.... I can confirm this is a very good book! Don't get it for your Kindle machine, because your Kindle machine won't work when shtf. Get the paper copy, read it, learn from it, enjoy it, then go eat a peanut butter sammich.

Great video, along with your other vids. Have you ever looked into ways to send encrypted messages using cyphers? Use of couriers, encrypted messages through text services? If a fan of the channel knows a great resource to learn from, it might be worth a review.
I am buying this book because, not being a radio dork nor knowing anything about radios, I did buy a Bao Feng or two several years ago as I was building my SHTF stuff. That said, do you recommend a book that explains GMRS in general terms? Based on your videos I’m looking at the various Wouxan options but don’t want another piece of equipment I have no clue how to use that I can add to my boxes of equipment I have no clue how to use. Being old (really old) I do not mind owning a book with actual pages and I was taught to read and actually write when attending school. And I promise I will continue to watch and support your channel if I purchase said book. Thanks for continually brightening our days.
