      @@BelowAverageGaming I really like this project with my only minor complaint is giving Cystal version Entei. Personally, I would have gone with Suicune or one of the new characters introduce in this game. There was Eusine the researcher who made it life goal to encounter Suicune and the female playable character often known as Kris within the fandom.

      @@Rigzly23 In hindsight, I could see the internal appeal by Atari's team regarding the Jaguar and its cartridge handles. I think they failed in that regard but the feeling of inserting a cartridge in a N64 was quite fun so trying to imitate that made sense.

    Short and sweet. I love it. Pokémon Gold and Silver were definitely my favorite games back then. Now, I would say my favorite is HeartGold and SoulSilver. Those were some incredible remakes. That’s how a remake should be done. Love these types of videos. I’m good with seeing more.

    • @BelowAverageGaming

      Hands down soul Silver is next in line for one of my favorites, it's basically silver and you have the added feature of being able to capture all the legendaries from both first gen and second gen. So dope!

      I can never forgive removing the game corner slots for the North American release. I loved the game corner in the first few generations and removing those was awful. No idea why it was fine for rated e games in the past but now it suddenly wasn't. Card flip was not an adequate replacement. I missed grinding for triple 7s for hours so that I could get Porygon

    I was born in 1990 an bought red the day it was released in the US and then received Gold for Christmas a month after its release and the second gen was by far the best (imo) it took the basic idea of gen 1 and added to it perfectly with improved gameplay,color,story,and the two new types helped getting the psychic type in check..it added just enough new Pokémon to not overshadow the gen1 Pokémon and the region itself is designed so well everything feels so close and connected..and the post game with kanto was a awesome idea they just didn’t think it threw enough in regards to level scaling the gym leaders are on par with the elite 4..but blue is the perfect warm up for the ultimate boss RED, which is basically you battling yourself from the previous gen and once you defeat him you actually feel like you’ve accomplished something and it gives you the feeling as if you’re actually the best trainer to ever live lol

    could you fucking imagine if a main line pokemon was on a console that early MMMM

    • @davetheimpaler204
      @davetheimpaler204 3 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Would kind of defeat the whole concept of "Pocket Monsters.
      The only reason the Switch has mainline Pokémon games is because it's a handheld/console hybrid.
      If Nintendo ever decided to split their resources between a separate home console and handheld platform again, (which I don't believe they'll do anytime soon or ever) the mainline Pokémon games would almost certainly be exclusive to the handheld platform.

    • @TheAbsol7448
      @TheAbsol7448 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@davetheimpaler204 It doesn't really _need_ to be handheld exclusive, though. They could simply release them on both platforms if that ever happens. I don't think it will since smartphones have all but killed the handheld market. The only saving grace for the handheld market are handheld PCs and hybrids like the Switch.

    • @davetheimpaler204
      @davetheimpaler204 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@TheAbsol7448 Of course they wouldn't *need* to be, just like Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, Sun and Moon on 3DS could have all easily been released on Wii U as well, to the great benefit of that console, but they *would* make them handheld exclusive because Game Freak would only focus on one platform and they would pick the handheld over the home console, due to the nature and theme of the games.
      I agree that Nintendo isn't going to split their resources into two platforms again though, unless the company gets a lot bigger and they just have money to burn and want to risk two platforms for more profit.
      It seems way more practical to just release different models of the same platform at different price points that may appeal to different people, like the Switch Lite.

      @@davetheimpaler204 but we’ve had Pokémon RPGs on the GameCube, and I’d say there were better then a good number of main line titles. I was 11 when red/blue came out. Played them so hard. but I agree gen 2 is also my favorite. 2 regions and 16 badges with the continuing story line is hard to top

    Why does everyone keep calling Raikou, Entei and Suicune Legendary dogs? They're based from Cats! Raikou is a Tiger, Entei is a Lion and Suicune is a Leopard. They should be called the Legendary Cats!

      I'm not 100% on Pokémon lore, but I was told a long time ago that the concept for them was that they were a Jolteon Vaporeon and Flareon that died inside of the Tower and Ho-Oh resurrected them to become the legendary dogs.
      But again I could be wrong

    • @Chronobus
      @Chronobus 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@BelowAverageGaming I mean the Legendary Cats are primarily designed on big cats like Tigers, Lions and Leopards respectively. Even then the Eeveelutions seem more feline than canine.

    • @mardukas13
      @mardukas13 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They are called Legendary Beasts in fact. The term "Dogs" is misused, the designer for those Pokémon said they're closer to jungle and savannah felines.

    If not possible, why not try Pokemon Yellow and Crystal for the N64 instead?

      @@BelowAverageGaming At 3:11 into the video, you grabbed a copy of Ocarina of Time called The Missing Link. That's actually a very well done mod and I was shocked to see a physical copy of it, then you murdered it. LOL!!! In case you destroyed the PCB and feel like trying it out, I have the last known good files before Nintendo unironically murdered those too.
