I play this game once a year since it release, so I finished it about 12 times now and there is no end in sight, this game oozes with nostalgia for me, such a well-rounded package.
It's a nice touch really, prompts players to look where they need to look. This should allow even a rookie get the hang of it sooner than average. That and the change in colour when you're hidden, I like this mechanic.

When I first tried to play this game I couldn't get into it. Just too different to the first 3 classics. Tried it again the other week...and loved it! Time is indeed a healer.
They sure don't make em like they used to. What a game. The limited hud and objective markings on real world environments was such a genius idea. Why can't AAA companies in this genre produce quality like this anymore?

It's ashame they went to stupid digital futuristic stuff after a few years in 2012 or 13. If I ever wanted to return to my own roots playing these type of games back in 2008 to 11. games like Halo Reach, COD Black ops, Modern warfare 2 and 3, Mortal Kombat, Gears of War 1 to 3, Mafia 2 and the rest. Because after when 2013 was changing a little bit, I hate it when they went to different direction of them changing the tone. Like first example. After when COD Black ops 2 came along, they went to digital new age shit about what they didn't do in the past COD games. I meant Ghost, Infinite Warfare and Black ops 3! So much for being a little bit old school. But these days are just a reminder that we need to suffer. Franklin was right what he said in GTA 5. Yeah, evolution is a bitch.
I loved this game, it was a cool action flick, even though stealth was a little less emphasized, it was still fun to play. Loved that ending, Sam coming to the rescue!
I remember when I played this game on the good ol' 360. It's very nostalgic watching this and this is one of the best games I played. I loved the final mission in the co-op story, very shocking. But I will never forgive the mission where you had to defend your self from 39 people coming from 6 different angles at 2:56:45. Took 14 tries to complete it at the time
jeah taht part was shit. i honestly played conviction through in one night and wasnt even familiar with all the buttons, so i pressed the "random bullshit-go" button (i threw all kinds of grenades) executed 2 guys with markers and shot the last guys. needed maybe 6 trys for this. not very splinter-celly.
- I love 'original' trilogy with Chaos Theory being one of the best game of all time for me. Double Agent was enjoyable too. This one is definitely top of the list, probably second best out of all 5 SP games. Not counting Essentials as it is PSP game, and Blacklist is not Splinter Cell game.

This game and Blacklist especially still hold a place in my heart. 🥰 Also, the smack talk from all the guards was so ridiculously edgy and over the top that it was hilarious. Jesus Christ, Michael Ironside really nail the script the action, the expression perfectly.. He is Sam Fisher and always be.. Eventhough this franchise got a remake or live action, without the voice of Michael Ironside it will feels empty and wrong

One of the original IP titles that devolved as the series went on. Sign that dev company lack of focus. But this title should not be wasted. Still iconic, so they oughta reboot this one. Give Sam Fisher or any protege a new mission!
I think I might be the only one that loves literally all the Splinter Cell games, including Blacklist, which was a masterpiece. A new Splinter Cell game or even a remake of the originals on next game would be revolutionary. Just imagine the next gen lighting, shadows, detailed gameplay and mechanics 😩😩😩

I really hope and pray to god that they remake this Masterpiece and another Masterpiece called Blacklist. Playing this game today in 2024 is just amazing. The details in this game, the graphics and the story is just incredible.
About the ending. If you decide to shoot Reed in the oval office, Sam will shoot him in each shoulder and then in the head. The reason the camera pans above Reed on the desk is so that you can see the iconic splinter cell goggles symbolically created by the bullet holes. I understand sparing him to get more story but it really is great "shot" to end the gameplay on before Vic's scene.
this game is as good looking as i remembered and a solid stealth game all i remember was shooting light bulbs and they actually break and create cover for you.
Replaying it for the 10th time i dont know if this was stated as fact, but it hit me, sams movement in this game including the sprint action, looks almost identical to Assassins creeds movement, Explains why sams got more agile with age ahaha
at the last interrogation with reed you had to shot two times and then spare him, then grim will shoot him in his head, then a short conversation will happen between sam and grim, that was the alternate ending.
Never played any splinter cell games. But just watching this makes me really want to play them! Sucks they are only at 30fps on xbox series s. Only reason I won't buy.

Michael Ironside have given life to this character. In my opinion, Ironside is always going to be Sam Fisher like Peter Cullen to Optimus Prime.
