  • 🔥 The Tragic Story of Armando Gallaraga's Almost Perfect Game
⚾️Step into the world of baseball's most unforgettable "almost perfect" moment with our latest video. Journey through the career of Armando Galarraga, a talented pitcher whose path to greatness was marked by resilience and determination.
On June 2, 2010, Galarraga was on the brink of making history with a perfect game-27 batters up, 27 batters down. As he approached the final out, the crowd at Comerica Park was on its feet, and the baseball world held its breath. Then came the pivotal play: a ground ball to the right side, a sprint to first base, and a routine throw. Galarraga caught the ball and stepped on the bag-he had done it! Or so it seemed.
Our video delves into the events and aftermath of that fateful night, showcasing the sportsmanship and grace with which Galarraga and Joyce handled the situation. We also explore the recent efforts to appeal the call and the ongoing debate about whether the decision should be overturned in the record books.
Join us for an emotional and captivating look at Armando Galarraga's near-perfect game, a story that transcends baseball and should be recognized as the worst call in sports history! Don't miss this deep dive into one of baseball's most poignant moments!

This is the EVENT that brought Instant Replay to Baseball. 5:43 Head Coach??? This is not the NFL.

This non-perfect game and the way Joyce and Galaraga acted afterward made way more national headlines and likely the most memorable perfect game of the modern era and arguably one of the most memorable moments in baseball in a century. So yeah that is neat and everyone remembers it. I also don't like the idea or precedent of retroactive scorecard changes.... BUT.... changes of this nature have since been rendered moot as replay is available and there is no question that would have been overturned. So the question becomes.... is changing the scorecard after a call with replay THAT much of a jump to changing it when replay didn't exist? Unfortunately I still have to say yes.... BUT...ANOTHER BUT... I know the HOF has some memorabilia from this game and it is as I said widely recognized and remembered. I think this is one of those times MLB could show some entertainment value and fun in a way that doesn't destroy the integrity of the game for a change. Have Detroit have a Galaraga bobblehead night. And make the announcement that the perfect game is so unique that it should be recognized as unique. Officially recognize it as a perfecto but give it a .9 number in the all time list. I.e. if the last one before it was Perfect game 25 and the next was number 26. Officially add a liner note and a footnote and ad Galaraga as 25.9. That way it is in the books, he gets the honor, and it will always be one of those little quirks in the HoF and the stats that gets noticed every time. Those little things that really highlight the statistical nature of the game while recognizing the human element of both players and umpires. Have Joyce come to the ceremony... make a joke about the 18" bases and then bring out a comically huge 36" base or something. Tag it Detroit... we aren't quite perfect but don't count us out yet or some cheesy shit.
