I wasn't even born when _Only Built 4 Cuban Linx_ came out and it's still one of my most favourite albums of all time. Raekwon is a beast on the mic. Thanks for this video! I'm loving the Wu related content!
I was and should have bought the cassette as well. I was switching over to cds. I didn't really know the cassette was purple until recently cuz like I said I was switching to cds when the album was new.
@@cruisinginmy94 u crazy it was purple with white writing. I'm from Toronto bought it in Jane n Finch mall. Re bought it in h.m.v downtown. Both were the same

What can I say about Uncle Rae?...one thing I love about him is his clarity on the mic and how when he speaks in interviews he sounds the same as he does on records, no effects needed when he raps...Rae and Ghost are THE best rap duo in the world, after EPMD who for me are the greatest!! Lol...Rae is outspoken and fearless, not afraid to go against the Abbott, evident when he voiced his displeasure at one of their albums, I forget the name and released Shaolin Vs Wu Tang in retaliation...in my opinion what let Rae down was his beat selection on his albums after OBCL and for me that has affected his legacy...Ghost on the other hand has an ear for beats and that has played a great part in why his albums are more playable than Raes...Rae went back to the drawing board and came correct with OBCL II...but FILA and The Wild are unforgettable for me...OBCL III? With Ghost Co starring again I'm sure it'll be on point like the previous two in the series...taking nothing away from Rae he influenced many with his style and persona and deserves to be mentioned as a King Of New York...when he's on the right beat you know Rae is gonna bring that fire...and when he's rapping with Ghost you know no one, no one can touch them!!!! Uncle Rae, salute...(FYI he's not my Uncle, its what I call him!!)
@@dalecumberbatch6601 each to their own, music like all forms of art is subjective so I respect your opinion...for me I expected Rae to step up from OBCL 2...the wild had some aight tracks on there but not enough for me to replay it like I do OBCL 1 & 2...I expected a lot from FILA and was disappointed...I respect Rae for trying different beats from his Criminogy lane but that's what he's known for...I hope OBCL 3 has all the Wu on it like OBCL 1 but no features by dickheads like French Montana!! 😝😝
"Notorious" for being an original member of Wu-Tang? How about a member of the "Acclaimed" Wu-Tang. Cream was not their most successful song. Protect Ya Neck and METHOD Man were more commercially successful.
@mike dollars Okay thats True. My perspective was from that era. Protect Ya Neck was released like 3 times so by the time it got to the Loud Records Release it had lost Buzz and Cream became the lead single. And I can see how cream would find more long term success with Streaming. But back in late '92 to about early '94, all you heard everywhere " (Watch Ya Step Kid) ... I smoke on the mic like Smokin Joe Frazier"

Raekwon imo is one of the strongest Wu members and in my top 10 O.A.T. Absolute beast of an Emcee. His patterns and style are incredible!
I agree, he’s the true mafioso of rap
I got him #2

I always like Ghost more because his albums where always consistent, but if we are talking about bars then Rae is better.
@@BreakthroughInk I prefer Ghost as well. Love his solo work also.
Rae's verse with Outkast...straight 🔥🔥🔥

A video on how hyped up Canibus was in 1998 and how he was blackballed would be an excellent video.
