I don't know why people hate any sound, I cannot ever sleep in silence, I just can't do it lol Ill fall to sleep listening to the fan in one of these, I'm just finding it so hard to know what one to get, have a dog and cat, lots dust and my wife smokes occasional inside of the house. These reviews and little demo videos are great though, thanks for uploading this, I'm considering buying it but am still looking at others also for now.
@@kevsimoes I reckon it stems from when you are a baby, if you were kept in a room away, or people were always silent when you (the baby) sleeps, you grow up like that and sleepony in silence, god knows, i leave the tele on and sorts when my kids sleep and they sleep now regardless of the noise around them, who knows though eh.
@@Jessebella1 i think it's more to do with people's sensitivity levels, anxiety, stress, etc. I have an anxiety disorder and I have to have white noise to sleep, I can sleep without it, but I much prefer it. I think it also depends where people live. If I lived in a rural area with no road noise or close neighbors and could have true silence, I could sleep without the noise, but the noise in general for me is to mask the ambient sounds of neighbors and traffic.
I purchased two of these from Amazon this morning for ours and our son's bedrooms. Our son and his father (me) have horrible allergies to God knows what, but we can barely breath several months out of the year, especially at night, so we decided to give these a try. Hope it lives up to all the hype in the Amazon reviews. On the upside, everyone in my home is entirely addicted to sleeping with a fan, and for no other reason than the white noise a fan creates, so we've got that going for us.
Come back and let us know if it has any noticeable improvement. As I said in the video, we just can't tell if they make the slightest bit of difference because the environment is not controlled enough and the allergy not bad enough. I'm with you on the fan noise. I find it quite soothing.
I have a Core 300 and it is fantastic! I love it so much that I bought a few more for family and friends. Levoit is a great brand, and I love that none of their air purifiers give off ozone or use a UV light. You don't need those things in a good air purifier. Thanks for the review and I'm glad we can both enjoy cleaner air!
Agree. I just got one for our house. My son has really bad allergies and our house is a dust factory! I will eventually invest in more in the future and I did actually just order a pet filter for the one we have to see if that works a bit better. I really wanted to watch the video to see if you needed to clean the filter at all and I noticed he said to vacuum it a bit so I will do that to see if that helps a bit. After a month ours is already very very dusty!
Looks like a huge upgrade from my old Levoit 132 and it's tiny intake. Also I had an issue with mine as well after 3 months, it was squeaking. I went through Amazon for support and instantly a new one was shipped. I could keep the old one but decided to throw it out. Replacement still works after 5 years :)
Thank you so much for the information in this video. Start to finish it's informative and helpful. My first video of yours so I'll be browsing through some of your others. Cheers.

Thanks for the feedback Victor. Glad you enjoyed the video and it's also good to hear that I haven't got too impatient (or more impatient than others) with customer support as I've got older!
Great review thank you. I agree, not the best customer service. Not sure if you're the right person to ask but do you know if this filters out things like mold particles or road pollution or is this just for dust mites? I'm starting to research Mold allergies (as per Dr Calvin Ng on Insta) as I live in a 1930s semi and although I keep it spotless and no visual signs of mold I wonder if our recent 'chestiness/wheezing' could be allergies. I live on a road with traffic so as much as I'd like the windows cracked I worry about the diesel particals. Sorry it's a long question, just starting to research these products.TIA
Hi, Thank you for the nice review. The customer support part was informative but the fact that they gave you a new unit gives me confidence in the product and service, ironically (?). The only ding in their emails was saying they can’t read the label. Give the guy a benefit of doubt, must have been a busy day for him. If you purchased a Bentley or a Rolls Royce, that would be unacceptable service but for a low-budget Chinese made product, that seems pretty good.
I have the Core 300 in the front of my house and I absolutely love it. I want to get another one for the back of my house. It’s not as stuffy and the smell is so much better.
Regarding Customer Service: I been dealing with a different company here in the USA about a expensive electric scooter for the last 1 1/2 years, it's still ongoing. Long story short, they refuse to honor the warranty. Scooter arrived defective. Could not install the seat and scooter looses all power (for about 2-3 minutes) after 10+ mile ride (has a 60+ mile range). It get very bad when it loses power on a very busy street with a speed limit of 45 MPH. I took the scooter to a local bike shop to see if they could install the seat. Shop tried for 5 minutes and was unable to install the seat. Keep in mind that the seat is a bike seat. I sent an email to CS and let them know about everything including what the bike shop attempted to do. They claim the scooter was working fine and they claimed that the bike shop didn't know what they where doing. They wanted me to somehow film myself installing the seat onto the seat post. I refuse to do so, I have no way to film myself and the bike shop has years of experience versus I have 0 experience. After a while of going back and forth, they still wanted me to film myself installing the seat and now claims that the scooter had magicly fix itself. The very next day, I took the scooter out for a ride, it lost power again. I managed to film on 4K showing that the scooter was on (display still works) and the motor will not run when I pressed the throttle. I emailed them the video, the company then either Ghosted or Blacklisted me. I filed complaints with agencies who handled consumer complaints. That went nowhere. The company lied about everything to the agencies and told me to take the company to court because they have no power. Luckily, I finance the scooter through Affirm. I disputed the whole amount. I let Affirm know about what's going on, the scooter company was refusing to honor their Warranty and provided them with the emails from the company and video of the scooter not working. Affirm sided with the company, stating that the scooter company was following the company policies. Even tho the scooter company and now Affirm was breaking the government rules and regulations. I am stuck with a expensive paperweight with a big bill. To this day, 1 1/2 years later, scooter company still Ghosting and Blacklisted me. Affirm, same thing for most part. I still refuse to pay anything, Affirm had sent it to a 3rd party collector. They haven't took me to court. I have a feeling that if or when they do take me to court, they will lose.
Can't be nice all the time, especially when you're relying on their products to work and do what you bought it for. CS hopefully better now, just got mine. Hopefully I don't have to deal with CS. Awesome video.
So for the pre filter I heard you'd have to clean it every 2 to 4 weeks so the actual filter lasts long right? You also mentioned that you can vacuum those dust particles when you took the filter out every week or 2.
It is ideal to vacuum the pre-filter every couple of weeks (or once a month depending on your situation). Personally I checked on mine once a week initially and every 3 weeks is about right for me. It definitely extends the life of the filter, getting dust, hair, larger particles, etc. out of the way so it can more efficiently do its job. By keeping on top of vacuuming it, my filters last roughly 8 months.
When the power goes out, does the unit remember what setting it was on and continue purifying when power comes back on? I ask because I like to attach my purifiers to smart plugs so I can turn them off when I need silence.
@@tdcattech Thanks for responding. This is a bad oversight i'm finding. I have an ancient purifier with a rotary dial that controls fan speed and that makes it superior to these fiddly digital touch controls. The Coway "mighty" purifier turns on to the "auto" setting, still not ideal but better than nothing. The Coway airmega 400 remembers what setting it was on, but for some silly reason plays a little song every time it powers on....
yes! just make sure to buy their upgraded “toxin filter” which is specifically designed for households/apartments near a busy roadway or in cities. That filter can remove smog, and other toxins from combustion engines nearby.
It does. That's the mesh around the outside of the filter. You'll find this gets covered in larger dust which can just be vacuumed off. The really fine stuff will go through this and to the concertinaed HEPA filter.
@@tdcattech I was hoping I could delete my comment before you saw it. I went to bed yesterday thinking, "What if it did have a prefilter, but it looked different from what I was used to?" Thank you for the detailed video.

Cool. Amazing to hear to a real world benefit. We just don't have a close enough correlation between condition and improvement to say for sure it makes a difference.
You could do, and I’m sure the filter will continue to remove dust. However the filters allegedly have an active carbon element. It’s this that needs replacing over time. I’m afraid I don’t know how much of this is a marketing ploy to ensure ongoing revenue from customers and how effective or necessary this aspect of filtering is. 🤷🏻♂️
No. I did not need to return it…which could be good or bad. If it had a total failure, I’d be left having to dispose of this at the local refuse centre. Fortunately, in this case, we can't use it in my son's room, but it can be used elsewhere despite the noise.
Do NOT place purifier near walls. The customer service experience I blame on the actual customer, not the company. Video should have just been uploaded to TH-cam for company to view. Order # and model info should have been included from the original email, so that customer service can help with your issue faster. (Honestly should have contacted Amazon because that's where you bought it from).
Impossible to answer. Depends on your living style and situation. Just because you vacuum, doesn't mean your vacuum isn't blowing the dust back out. Vacuum needs to be air tight with HEPA filters.
That was really helpful. I had a tiny question about the control panel, and just that little bit about it here helped me figure out my issue. I also think it's a great purifier and works well in my 500 sq. ft. apartment.
