I think society really changed after 2013 with smartphones, social media, and other nonsense. sure we already had phones and social media in the early 2000s. but I feel like people don't spend all their time on that stuff. people still knock on the door when visiting friends houses instead of texting "Im outside" or "here" 😆

Before deployment: people knocked on doors, people actually hung out with each other at house parties, people were relatively aware of their surroundings, etc. After deployment: people text you when they are in the driveway, 90% of people at a house party are sitting down on their phone 🥴, and you see zombies wondering around in public oblivious to what's around them. It was like an episode of Black Mirror 💯

This year specifically so far is the worst and it’s not even near halfway through. I was in high school in 2012. I graduated in 2014. House parties, high school club parties, proms, junior seniors, getting into clubs underage because people knew people who I knew, and more. Yes! 2009-2015 was like party central. I graduated in 08' and I worked side jobs from those years and so I had my own schedule. Its so crazy how we lived it up those years. And I work full time now for someone else and I still seem to be going to the party here and there however I'm not able to be there all the time anymore
That’s hindsight bias with rosy glasses my friend. Most people go through high school and college with a ton of angst and anxiety despite having some great times. You look back and think about the great stand out memories and forget about the shitty headspace you lived in during all of the other time.

2013 was the best year for me too, I was a Freshman in university. My dad and I reconciled. I went on three trips that year and had my first relationship. Quite the whirlwind.
The 2013-2016 era to me was just a long summer break and I had nothing but fun, life was simple and good. I know that time will never come back but it feels just like yesterday I’m still a carefree teenager. It was nice while it lasted and I’m grateful I was born to live through it.

Graduated high school in 2013 then followed it up by probably my favorite summer of my life. Went to college after and lived at home for another 6 months. Right in the beginning of 2014, met the love of my life. We're now married with a baby girl. I love my life now but man, these times just hit different. Yet, in this bathroom, you feel at peace. No stress and you can hang around for a bit longer. For a moment, you didn't care for anything and just zoned out as you looked at yourself in the mirror. Then, you head out. Remembering this scene as but a moment of peace in your memories, without noticing that your mind has made it the core memory that you will remember for the days to come.

Yet at the same time, if the best moments were ones where I was blind/asleep, then I suppose it's a good thing to be where I am now, even if where I am now is 100x more painful than where I was before. Back then, this pain would have been completely unbearable, but now, well, I'm still here. So it's not over yet. Not yet.

I love that you made Clarity the first song! I genuinely heard this muffled at a party like this at a huge 4th of July gathering in freshman year with my first high school boyfriend and his family. We were hiding in an RV on the property from his parents sneaking a quickie while this played on speakers outside, I'm sure you can imagine it was an exciting and romantic night albeit a little awkward lol!
I'm a firm believer in the fact that 2012-2013 was like the golden age of the 2010s, and I think the amount of hit songs from that time really gives a good mental picture of that. Despite the fact I was 7-8 in 2012 and 2013 respectively, I think many can agree with me when I say I would do basically anything to go back to those days. What you have going on is amazing, so please keep it up because the amount memories it brings back is beautiful.

House parties, high school club parties, proms, junior seniors, getting into clubs underage because people knew people who I knew, and more.
It wasn’t about the alcohol, it wasn’t about the party.
It was about the people and the memories, times with friends, meeting girls and more.
What I would give to go back and experience it just one more time.

I'm a firm believer in the fact that 2012-2013 was like the golden age of the 2010s, and I think the amount of hit songs from that time really gives a good mental picture of that. Despite the fact I was 7-8 in 2012 and 2013 respectively, I think many can agree with me when I say I would do basically anything to go back to those days. What you have going on is amazing, so please keep it up because the amount memories it brings back is beautiful.

not gonna lie as a 2013 raver and 2012 one as well I shed a tear. i miss my friends and how things used to be. i'd have enjoyed them more had I known i'd feel this way after time passed
Same. This video hits hard as someone who raved in this era, because it sounds exactly like being in the bathrooms at a rave or standing in line outside the venue with your friends hearing the bass thumping in the background.
