Thank you so much for this amazing video, Mikey! I finished this project last weekend (it took me a year and a half), and just entered it into the craft competition at my local county fair today! We’ll find out this weekend how it did! Couldn’t have done it without you! I have made several blankets with the help of your videos, and have grown my love of crochet over the past 5 years as a result. You are so appreciated, and keep up the great work!

I am in the process of making this beautiful blanket. Your video is so easy to follow and your voice clear and sound. I think there is a sense of humor in there some where, would be great to hear more of it :) I am a senior and have crochet now for 35 years. There is something to be said about creating what ever your doing, the journey in making it and then the final result. Thank you Mikey !!!!

Love log Cabin design. Best thing about this afghan is that it's squares to put together so you can add more squares to make it larger. Particularly if you're making for a guy that's over 6' the smaller afghan would never cover him. I've made log Cabin quilts before so familiar with the design which helps alot.

  • @marsharice4318

I have started this afghan and while working the sections I've made two adjustments because I could not get the pattern to work. On the center section I added a round of sc, this made the center a bit bigger. On section 5 and 7, I had to start and end with 2 sc in order to do the corner correctly.

Even as an experienced crocheter I tend to use a stitch marker (split ring) to mark a corner in a solid block so if I lose track or have to stop in the middle of a row. It's just a visual clue to myself so I don't have to go back and count. It's something I've done since I started crocheting so its a habit that's handy when working on something like this. Love the colors of this throw.

Been so long since I made mine but I seem to remember that I didn't make them square but rectangle. If I remember right one was 5x7.

This is my favourite non-Bernate baby blanket so far. It'll tak me a while to find alternative yarns. It's a shame Yarnspirations refuses to ship to Britain. There are knotters and crocheters over here, too, y'all.

    • @TheCrochetCrowd
      @TheCrochetCrowd  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The cost to ship across the ocean is astronomical. It leads to people complaining and you will also get hit with a tax when it crosses over into the UK that you pay at the door to the courier to postal worker.

Mikey this is so awesome. My ma did a block years ago to see if she could make a log cabin. She never got it finished. I've made a crib size quilt and a mini version of the same quilt but never have tried to crochet one before. I'll have to give it a try. Can you crochet the blocks together instead of sewing them? Think it would look great on a full size bed. How would you go about figuring out how much yarn you would need and the measurement of a blanket that large?

  • @angelamann3880

    Amazing! 😍
And I have the yarn in my stash to complete one of each pattern style. But my new years resolution was to complete 3 WIPs I already have going before starting 1 new project. Then 3 more before another 1. So now I'm debating with myself on breaking it and I haven't even made it through January. I have finished up 3 old WIPs and 1 new project already though, so at least I lasted for one round, right. Lol.

You could. Try it and see the difference. I'm unsure what difference it will make. Just play and see.

In Rnd 2 it says turn at the end but I guess you did not turn your work?

Is it ok to use a magic circle for the beginning? Will that make it sturdier?

You can. It will make centre hole tighter.

Can you give the quantity of wool (in 100 g) of each colour please?

    • @TheCrochetCrowd

I believe the pattern has the yarn details. It has the brand so you can see the original yardage and weight. So you can substitute using that detail if you need it.

@@TheCrochetCrowd thanks Mike....I just want you to know that you taught me how to crochet. I have been watching you for a very long time. I have made many blankets. I am working with the snowflake blanket but not as a go as you join. I also tried the red and white candy one but just can’t get it. I may have told you before but I once was like you....an experienced crochet who could read pattern and symbols easily, long story short I was in a MVA. It was my 5th major concussion....the result I lost my knowledge. You made me pick up a hook again and I can’t begin to thank you enough, for your videos
