Mikey You taught me how to crochet. I have always wanted to learn how to crochet, I have dyslexia and cannot follow a written pattern or diagram. Your tutorials are wonderful, and I just want to thank you for teaching me.
I often stay away from cross over stitches but am determined to push through this one. I love how they look just not a fan of doing them. It always feels clunky and I often get hung up when pulling through. It’s 100% worth the effort so I wanted to thank you for helping me realize that just because I don’t love a stitch now does not mean it won’t be beautiful!
Sometimes some of the funky stitches are needed even if inconvenient as you mentioned. I absolutely despise the Puff Stitch. If it got wiped off the face of the earth, I would be so happy!
Practice stitches using yarn that's left over. I do it until I get the stitch down. Watch tutorials first and then stitch over and over until you're comfortable.
I've watched u when i made another pattern of a shawl. U explain so well. I can't follow written patterns. I get so confused but u write it down or a pattern shown on paper and explain it to where i can learn to read one. I love this pattern and keep going slow for beginners like me. I've been doing crochet for over a year but I'm still a beginner plus. Keep up the slow, explanation of crochet patterns for me to learn more from u!! Thank u!!
Just finished this and absolutely love it! What a fun blanket to make! I loved that I did one thing for an entire row, but that the next row was different.
Finished this blanket tonight and it turned out beautiful! I used Red Heart Super Saver Buff Fleck yarn - so soft and comfy. Thanks very much for the easy to follow pattern and instructions!
THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for the diagram. I had the old pattern downloaded & could never get my counts right. I can’t begin to describe the frustration & expletives that went along with frogging many projects. I’m going to try again & succeed this time!!!
I love, this channel…Mikey, you are an excellent instructor! Thank you for continuing to make crocheting a fun craft…and for taking the time to break down the patterns with your wonderful graphs.
I am going red and cream in my living room this christmas so I’ve just started on this beautiful throw in cream this morning, first of 2, thanks for your wonderful tutorials, currently on my couches are the hugs and kisses i followed you on, they look amazing and always get compliments. Mandy, England x
I just love this pattern! It has lovely texture. I was searching for a pattern to make my sister a double sized blanket for her bed. Thanks to this video, my search is over. Thank you so much! Your videos are awesome!
Just made it through my first 11 rows using Lion Watercolor in Skyway - love it so much think will make another in Pansy - it does blow through these small balls of yarn - looks like will be about a skein and a quater/half per each 11 rows. Beautiful! Thank you for being such a great teacher!
I've just finished this pattern i chose a 12 panel version like it extra wide just completing border is gorgeous 😍 totally love your tutorial !!! Shame no way to share finished picture its so beautiful !!! Thank you
Another beautiful blanket! Think this will be on my learning curve. You do a get job explaining. Need to finish up a few project before I can commit to a new one. Thanks Mikey!
What a nice pattern. I think I might be able to do it. I'll just need to keep watching the tutorial while doing it. I missed your giggles during the video. Have a wonderful day.
Thank you for taking the time to do a diagram. One problem it is so light that when printed out one can't read it. It maybe just me but I hope others don't have the same problem. Your sample and explanation are fantastic. This is one pattern I am definitely going to do.
that's the major problem when I provide my hand notes and scan it. I'm really sorry. I'm not that gifted in doing computerized diagrams. Maybe I should bite the bullet and spend a few hours trying. Again, I'm so sorry.
Love this afghan! Wanting to make this for my daughters wedding gift. Could I change colors on the bobbles...main color is red (his favorite color) and the bobbles cream color? Edging would be a pumpkin color (her favorite color). Thoughts?
Oh! But I do like to start with foundation double crochet‘s sometimes… So it helps me if you can give one stitch count or multiples of the basic rows inside the project… Thanks!
Hello, Love this pattern. I have a request from other family members to make again. One request is to make it a little larger, PLEASE can you provide me with a suggestion to alter size. THANK YOU
Me encanto él tutorial, yo haré un pie de cama y comencé pero no tome en cuenta el bordee y tendré que empezar de nuevo, lo único difícil para es el borde pero lo intentaré espero me salga
@@jeannakelly4174 That’s what I was thinking, too, Jeanna! My mother wants something to wrap around her to cover her upper arms to stay cosy. I made her one that was more “airy” that she likes (of course), but I’d like to make her another that’s a bit more densely stitched. I think this would make a beautiful wrap!
I love making this, but I have somehow ended up with an extra stitch here and there in the bobble rows, not sure why. 🤔 Thank you for your clear tutorials, would love more oversized wraps.
I have made 8 of these as gifts. Now making one for me. Yes, the edges, without the border, seem ragged. However, as soon as I add the border rows, it all looks great.
I've always wanted to try crochet do you believe this is beginner friendly This is beautiful Great tutorial and in my favorite color to boot lol Great hand work makes it feel possible to do
I’m getting ready to make this for my grandson. I’m practicing with a swatch as in the video. I have problems with the stitch count. In the video, is it 24 stitches? Please help! FYI I started crocheting recently after 40 years, so I’m rusty.
I love this pattern but I keep getting off count and looking wonky. Do I sc in the turning chain at the end of row 4 and every similar row? Row 6 and row 8? Thank you!
I would love to use this as the pattern for my temperature blanket for next year. Since it would be a lot longer than this, what would be the most reasonable width to use so it will look nice/fairly balanced? I LOVE this pattern. Thank you.
How big this blanket in inches? Length and width? Can you give description if the yarn please. How many chains needed to make this measure of this blanket? How much yarn I need to make a blanket size shown on the picture. Really like to know the size of a blanket.
This is gorgeous! Mikey, what is the name of the color you're using here? A friend asked me to crochet a blanket in the colors of the Irish flag. That green may work. Can you recommend an orange also?
With our videos, the pattern is linked in the video description for details like this. I did open the pattern for you, it states the following: RED HEART® Super Saver®: 7 skeins 661 Frosty Green I tell you this so you don't have to wait for me to respond to you. :)
I love this pattern, but what stitch can I use in place of the bobble stitch? I crochet a bit slow and this will take me way to long to finish. Would appreciate any suggestions you have. Thank you!
Hi, there is an error ion The Crochet Crowd Page on the diagram, it says stitch count is 6+1 whereas on this video it says 6+3 Confirmed. This is contradicted a number of times. Otherwise, love the blanket, it will be interesting to make (just finishing a complicated pattern so this will be next.) Thanks from Australia 🐨🐨🦘🦘
I didn't include the beginning Ch 3 as a stitch therefore I was out of alignment. A crocheter noticed that in the diagram and so it is 6+1. I'm sorry about that.
I have a question. I made 2 samples. The first one was 6 x3 +1=19. I started 1st row DC in 4th chain from hook. When I did the last bobble I had 2 stitches left not one for the SC. I did another sample 6x 3 +3=21. I started row 1 DC in 4th chain from hook. After I did the bobble row i had 1 stitch left for the last SC. So before I start this large blanket could you pls clarify this. Also on the chain one rows it look like you start in the very 1st st with the chain 2. Is that correct?
It is a beautiful pattern. I'm saving it so I can come back to it after my current WIP is done. Does the multiples of 6+1 change the look? It seemed to me the 6+3 looks great!
I love this pattern but have been struggling with the stitch count... around row 7 there is a problem with the stitch count. Does anyone know how to correct this? I am extremely frustrated.but
*Mikey* how do you think this would look in 2 colors? Since there's 10 sections, either every other section a different color or the first 5 one color and the last 5 another...
So, basically, you work sideways on this afghan. That is, instead of working up from the bottom as you progress from row to row, you're working from one side to the other. That should be noted for those who want to change the size of the project. If I hadn't watched this, I would not have realized that.
How large is the blanket beginning with the number of chains you suggested? Also, how many skeins will that take? Sounds like probably 10 or 11 of them?
Let me take a look. In our free patterns, the video description has the free pattern linked in for anyone wishing technical details. Stand by, I am open the link for you.
I’m confused because on the written pattern it says chain x6 + 1 but in the video you did x6 + 3…. So which one should I do?? I keep getting different stitch counts in every row and my edges are starting to waive.
