I swear I've seen these sprites on SaltyBet before. Nice to know where they came from! Also I like how Tecmo just went "You know what? Screw it, throw some 3D models in there! That'll help pad the roster!"
...........no? Not even close. You.... DO realize there are a LOT of other female-centric fighting games, and this is not even close to one of the most notable ones, right? Variable Geo is far more well known and influential than this game was to the genre of female-led fighting games for Skullgirls to be inspired by.
@@the-NightStar And Skullgirls didn't take game design in particular from them. I think the weird focus on combos is probably from those games because in many of them the base damage is incredibly low. Like, you could absolutely wail on someone in Variable Geo or Asuka 120% and still end up having the match decided by time over.
This one is painful to look at. I can hardly believe that DOA is Tecmo classing up their fighter game, but I guess so. Is there an explanation for the art discrepancies? Time crunch?

1:31 M Power almost broke physics and Slowbeef in one shot
So we see where Skullgirls stole their idea from.

It's a joke, chill.
I'd love to see you react to the couple of live performances from the game awards

The use of 3D here makes me miss Battle Arena Toshinden. The actual 2D sprites are good though!
Man, those 3D sprites are jarring but I remember them being worse somehow.
I have to know if Slowbeef made the Matt Gaetz joke before or after the release of the report that pegged him for statutory?
This game looks like they made it in Mugen.
It has a inconsistent art style cause they rushed it to arcade (but unlike rushed modern games, it's very playable)
