Do you also get so addicted to kairosoft games? I have literally started playing this game at 9pm and stopped playing at 4am (And I'm not done with it).... I have never played any games longer, while still having 100% fun, than kairosoft games. Ps: Can you please make a kairosoft game history/evolution video? Listing all their games from oldest to newest? I would really like that video, and it doesn't exist yet. 😊
haha yep 100%, I know exactly what you mean when you say how addicting they are. I vouch for them being the most addiciting titles ever, they have a certain charm unlike other games that just pull you in for hours. They are the ultimate games for making time go by quickly without realising. I do have a Kairosoft history video! But it was more focused around the company itself rather than all the games. That's a great idea for the gameography, I will definitelty look into that and make that one day, great suggestion

This is a modern Simtower game. Mega mall 2 looks even more Simtower-like. I'm shocked these aren't being discussed enough. I'm sure Kairosoft are huge fans of that game, or Yoot Saito might have worked on this.
@@WowItsBow looking forward to see your review on them. You can check out LGR's reviews too on the original and sequel. Simtower also later appeared on the GBA and DS, and even IOS. I've been searching for an Android port for more than a decade and it's surprising that Kairosoft already made one but it was never brought up anywhere. The only thing closest was Droid Towers, which is even more obscure and delisted.

If someone is reading this PLEASE HELP A BRO OUT I'm playing Mega Mall Story on PC, and I can't get Rank #1 or the Casino. Right now my best money maker is the Observation deck with yearly sales of 25,000,000, I've had bowling Alley and Supermaket take that place as well. Every time I rank #5. I have the most combos possible, I havfe all the investments, I have all regulars (except the duck that wants the casino). What can I do?? I'm on year 38 and I am stuck!!
This is a really interesting point as I have seen multiple reddit threads saying the same thing and that certain stores get bugged at rank #5 preventing the casino unlock. From what i have read two important factors is to have 28 active combos in your mall and to also hold sales every month, focusing on the observation deck
So I just completed MMS 2. I can see why it's a frustrating game. It's a more casual sim tower, but with some frustrating random mechanics and lacking quality of life features. Sim tower allowed you to find your shops according to color coding - im MMS2, you can only manually look for them by sight, or scroll through a list of your shops not sorted by category. The terrible translation doesn't help either. And you can't even reassign your staff. The mechanics also focus on Rep and grinding Quality more than anything else. You can't even easily find shops that can be heart upgraded, and the repetitive animation on each upgrade is annoying. The toilets and rest areas do nothing (customers never get impatient or tired), and elevator/escalators seemingly don't benefit anything other than floor access. It's an addictive game but frustrating with less replayability than game dev story.

I enjoyed reading your thoughts on the title, agreed both the mega mall stories seem a bit simplified in terms of gameplay compared to other Kairosoft games, they are very charming but don't have as much to progress late game. If you enjoyed it check out The Pyraplex, it added a lot more variety to MMS/2s simple format
I personally think so, it feels more nostalgic and inline with their original games. MMS2 felt a bit different, I can't put it into words but it didn't play the sane as MMS1

There's just a certain rhythm to Kairosoft games where all the customers come in and leave each day, it's so addicting!

Thats awesome I didn't know about Simtower, you are right it's very similar gameplay wise and likely the main inspiration! I'll check it out for sure
